v5. Purchase order and Assets. Bug or feature ?
Create PO. Then Receive Items. Then click "Associated Assets" and delete any Assets from this PO. After that PO's filed "Received Quantity" the same as before. Another words, when I am deleting associated asset, its not decrease received qty. Bug or feature ?
Migrating ServiceDesk+ to a new server
Hi all. I need to move my copy of service desk from one server to another because we are currently buying shiny new servers and creating a new domain. I have tried installing the original setup file on the new server the overwriting the files with the old files from the old server and this didn't work. Can anybody shed some light on this for me please? Thanks Dunk

Software report per computer
Hi I've be looking at the demo, is there a way to customize a report that show's you a list of all the software installed on the machines? and is there also a way to show which pc's have cetain software installed on them in a report. Inventory module. I don't see Assets fields in dropdown menu. Is it true ? As I understand, you mean Workstations only in inventory module in custom reports. Yes?
How can I delete a Product ?
When I'm trying to delete a product I got this warning "FAILURE : Product is being used by a module. Hence cannot delete it." I guess it's something related to relationship integrity but is anybody has a solution? Many thanks.
Surveys sent out using internal IP and not public URL...
Hello there, I have set the public URL to "helpdesk.domain.com" but the surveys get sent out to dozens of outside requestors in the form of "192.168.0.XX" which means those on the outside of our LAN cannot submit their survey responses. I wonder why it is asking for the public URL if it's not used? P.S. Your product is awesome! Report- all request by department
I have changed some users from dept A to dept B. When I generate the report from the old requests, it is still showing as dept A. Is it a problem?

"Add new Technician". Press "save" button. SD+ can't save and shows HTML-code fragment in browser.
Import users from specific OU
Hi Could you clarify whether the option to import users from a specific OU in active directory imports just the users in the specified OU or if sub-OU's are included? Printers for service Desk
Would it be possible in a later release to have a part of the network scan/ domain scan to detect printers. Because we use our purchase system for ink cartridges we want to be able to assign the ink to a printer. The only way we can do this at the mo is by making a new workstation naming it a printer. Love the software - Quick user question/Suggestion
When a new user sends a request and they are not in the Requester list they automatically get added with their login as their email address. This is great except the password associated never gets sent to them. Can this be setup somehow?

Hello... is there a way to export the entire workstation list... and somehow have the Gateway IP address show so I can tell which branch the workstation is located in? Thanks!
Interface translation
Good time of a day. Can i translate SD+ interface in to different language? Mail customisation and international support - are great deals, but in my company English is not primary language and some users not understand how use SD+. Bug ? Amending a task
From the home page if someone goes in and amends an existing taks they can change the text, but when they save the box goes blank and nothing happens. Damian
SD+ does not allow anyone to login
SD+ up and running for two weeks. Performed AD import and turned on integration. Everything working OK. Tried to login to day and receive error when using the admin login: Username or Password Incorrect Also receive the same error when trying to login using my AD login name and password. Is there any way to backdoor the application to "reset" the security? Thanks Matt Jackson, WY

Add new Vendor, then press "View List" and press "Add new Vendor". In this case system will return you to edit mode for last edited vendor.
SD5 Can't Import Computers from windows domain
When I try to scan our windows 2003 domain all i get is the default containers I can not see any of our OUs and hence can't import any of the PC in the domain. I have the same issue importing users from the AD. Any Ideas? David
Internationalization?
How exactly does te internationalization work? We expected we would be able to translate menu's and so on into our native language (Dutch)? Is this possible or did we misunderstand?
SD5 - Trial unable to start on SUSE Linux server
Whenever I try and start I get a MYSQL Failed to start. I have amended the ports from 33366 to 33333 in the startDB, stopDB abd mysql xml file as per a previous post. v.5. Yet another Technician problem
Editing technitian details. When I check on "Enable Login for this Technician" checkbox, roles shows bottom at the screen and after 0.5 seconds all blinks once and refreshes, but with blank configuration screen. Only this signs presents: Users - Technicians Technician List [ Add New Technician ] That's all. :)
Custom logo
Hi! I try to change logo's. But then I load my logo's (on Settings page) and choose this logo's - logon page logo changed, but in header still standart logo. I try to view it on few computers, try to clean browser cache. Can U help me resolve this bug?

inserting attachments to assets and resolutions/notes
Is there a way to attach files to assets (for example a picture of the asset... or documentation). Also, after someone sends in a request, is there a way for the technician to attach a file to it (either in the notes or resolution parts of the request). Sorry for all these questions, but they'd really help us out.
AD Intgegration fails
Unable to import users from AD. Unable to switch to use AD authentication. Import window Pop-up shows and main screen reverts to another config setting in the setup process and error message is displayed saying AD import fails. Problem didn't exist when initially installing to test server. Test server is no more, invoking fresh install on new server. Admin account in domain is present. Admin account was used from test version with no issues.
domain scan settings
Both the local and the remote domains seem to be failing. With version 4 after some fighting with firewall settings and domain policies we had managed to get the scan to work. Now with version 5 the domain scan is failing again, with the same error. I scanned our local domain and it came up with the domain listing and containers to scan. The scan returned only the servers (2) and gave an error on the work stations (the "computer may be turned off..." error). Scanning a domain outside the local subnet

Hi, Appreciate that there's an online demo to evaluate the features but when will v5 be made available for download please? The previous postings indicated it would be by 15th but instead an online demo was put up? Moving to AD auth and back again
If we start to use AD auth after using SD+ auth, does SD+ retain the users passwords should we later return to SD+ auth, or does it loose them. Also, the SD+ "admin" user is not connected to the administrator account in AD - which user account does the SD+ "admin" user relate to in AD? Thanks.
Feature request : Survey url in rquest
I was talking to my Manager about the way the user survey works and he did not like it, I think because we do not want to send autoamted emails to our end users about stuff that they might not be interested, in as it will irritate some of them. We would like to have the option to embed the survey url in the request so that when the user looks at his completed or ongoing requests he can choose to fill in the survey or not for each individual request. Is this attractive to anyone else ? John Belshaw

Hi, are there any plans to incorporate several of your softwares into one single interface/database? For example; Service desk plus, OpManager and PatchQuest. This would be a neat feature as jumping from one page to the other makes it quite tedious to get full information on systems. Thanks again.

Hi, could you just tell me if the demo version currently running, is a true reflection of the new release? I ask because i have been desperately awaiting this release for the ability to do proper audit reports for hardware and software (using the custom reports module), and although i see there is the ability to create custom reports, only a limited amount of data is selectable in the module (no software, no detailed hardware etc) Thanks

Feature Request: Multiple Requestors
Is there a way to configure ServiceDesk to allow multiple requestors? Sometimes more than 1 person are affected by an issue, and it would be nice to allow additional people to be added to a ticket to view (and thus be notified of ticket updates).
Great software - Some issue
Hi! Thank you for your great software Service Helpdesk plus. I just wondering if is a possible to send e-mail to HelpDesk instead of logging in to HelpDesk and writing a request. Another issue It is a little bit irritated to put counter back every time you leave page. Is it possible to have it per default. Tex have it on 50 always even when I leave page. Firewall port
What ports does SD+ use for scanning PC's? I'm able to scan a PC with Symantec's firewall off on the targeted PC, but when it is on, the scan fails to pick up those computers. Any suggestions for which ports need opening?
