I read a post about this, but there is not an answer of a developer indicating the release where this bug is corrected. Can some body tell me if in the release 6 this feature functions ? Running SDP under Linux
Hi Although we have SDP running at work, I would like to use the Linux "free" version at home to become more familiar with the product. SDP is installed under my home directory but how do I start/run the package? Do I need to install any other additional packages? :)

Various Questions about SDP 6
Hi All, Me again.... ;) - I have a couple of questions about ServiceDesk. 1) AD Requesters scan - old users When importing these users, it seems to add a load that are old / no longer with us. How do we stop this..? Do they need to be deleted (moved) from the AD OU, or just disabled...? As I think we have them disabled at mo, and still they get imported. 2) AD Requesters scan - over writing current data..? I read on the application, that when ya re-run/import the users into SDP, any previous ones
Migrate to MSSQL
Currently running on mysql on a windows xp box. Having lots of issues with mysql at the moment (see mysql dead thread) and with no response from support either by email or here I want to see if we can switch over to MSSQL server easily. Bear in mind I am unable to take a backup in mysql at the moment so the migration would have to work first time. Is this adviseable? If so are there instructions around here somewhere? Thanks.
Update and close
We have some fileds that need to be completed before a case can be closed. If we are closing a single case a missed field is indicated and we amend and update. At this point could there be an update & close (in one operation) button please? Likewise, if we are trying to mass close cases, could we have the ability to see which cases we were closing after going off to amend them (one by one) or have a popup window with a list of the tagged cases? AD Import wont remember OU's selected
Hi All, Hoping someone can help, I am having an issue where I select the particular OU's I want to import from AD, (which works fine) but then the next import I perform, including an auto import, it doesn't remember my previous selections, it goes back to a default from when it when originally installed. Is there a way to make SD+ remember my selections? We do have a comprehensive OU list and it is quite a hassle to select each time. Cheers, Scott. :D
Clock
The clock to the right of the SD+ reminders button currently shows 08:08:50 when the clock in my icon tray bottom right hand corner of the screen shows 08:10. It is minor but what is SD+ using for the clock? Is it linked back to netowkr time and my pc clock is wrong?
Tasks and Time Spent
There seems to be a disjoint between tasks for a request and time spent. I have recently installed Sevice Desk Plus into our business for tracking requests, tasks and time spent on issues. Maybe I have configured the system incorrectly, not sure, but when a technician completes a task for a request ticket and fills in the Actual Start and end times, there is no place to key time spent. Instead the technician has to complete this task then go to another window to fill in time spent information. This

creating new technicians error - login id already exists
hello i'm trying to create more technician id's and I get an error that the login id already exists. I may have created them before and deleted before I had my license extended. Is there a way to purge old deleted id's so that I can create again? thanks.

Inventory - DCOM error

MySQL on a remote Server / MYSQL V MSSQL
Hi all, I was wondering if there was any way of storing the data on a remote mysql server insted of a locally installed version... as we have a mysql database server in our support center. But is there any reason to use mssql over mysql for perfomance or other? Thanks
Upgrading to 6
Does SD v6 take up much extra space on the server, both in terms of programme and database size? We currently have it located on a server that might experience a hard drive space problem if this is the case and we can then plan to move it. Thanks in advance.
Request list view customization
As I see, I can view some of built-in requests field only. But if I create additional request field, it could be viewed too. How to include additional field for list view? E.g. sub-category or item. Thanks.
Migration problem
I would migrate my application to the last version of service desk. 6003 is the last build??? My version is 600 and build 5999, I want to upgrade with the hot fix for 6000 to 6003 and it doesn't work. How can I do to migrate my application to 6003? I just wait your help. Cheers Gilles

Please help, i still have not gotten a fix for this even in the newest service packs. i am running the latest version of helpdesk and when doing reports, A LOT OF THE TICKETS are 0:00:000 completed!?!??! i need help FAST before the VP gets a wind of this. he wont be to happy he spent money on a system that has bugs.

Annoying Bug w/ User Names
For consistency sake across our network we use the same login id for SD+ as we do for everything else - first initial + last name. We have two users whose user id's are clin and clinn. But whenever clinn puts something in - it treats it like something from clin - like its not searching for the enitre username - only enough to match. If clin puts something in it does treat it like something from clin. Is there a fix or workaround?

Sub-Category not available after hotfix 6003 applied. It is available once another category is selected. This happens within IE 6 and 7 as well as Firefox.
backup error
When I'm doing a backup of the database (mysql) I have this following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutofMemoryError : Java heap space. This message appear at 60%. It created 371 files into the backup folder but it doesn't create the files .data. Thanks for your help Cheers Gilles

Recreating a blank database on another server
Hi, I am attempting to re-setup a MySQL database on another server as the backend for our ServiceDesk Plus app. I have successfully run "changeDBServer.bat", which has created the "servicedesk" database on our MySQL server, however the database is completely blank, in that it has 0 tables. Could anyone let me know how I force the empty tables to be created please ? I have already tried calling reinitialiseDB.bat, but that seems to do nothing. In our original installation, I'm assuming the local database

MSDE Problem - sqlservr is at 100% CPU charge
Hello, I'm testing a ServiceDesk Plus v6, and I decided to put on a VMC with a P4 3Ghz and with 1Gb Virtual Ram. I installed over a XP SP2 with all the critical updates and .net 1.1 and 2.0 then I installed for supporting the DB a MSDE SP4. Then I installed SD. Configured it over the MSDE no problem. The problem began when I started the SD service. My SQL service task went crazy, eating all my CPU resources, and it's allways on 100%... 99% ~ 98% ... 100%... and so one. Then I thing that could be

Im unable to start ManageEngine ServiceDesk with startSDP.bat The path's on the shortcuts in the desktop and start menu link to the startSDP.bat witch is correct for the newer versions, but still I have to use the run.bat to start ServiceDesk. Can anyone help me in this matter? Thanks :roll:
AD import failing less than half way through.
When importing from AD, Total Requesters in AD = 2667, the import fails less than half way through. The import worked 100% the first several times used but since then the percent of failed records is nearly always the same. I have sent the log(s) to the Support Techs but they can not figure out the problem. We have 6 domains I can import from and I have tried all 6 at different times (even the weekends and evenings) and nothing seems to help/work. We are using version 5.5.0. Importing from CSV is

Backup data into specific file
Dear Servicedeskteam, We are using SD6+ on a simple Windows XP Pro machine. We want to backup the data onto our data server but i haven't found how to control that the backup writes a file that is named specific ("Supportsystem_FullBackup.data"). Does anybody know how to do the backup into a specific file?

Hi Everyone, I have rebuilt a new Service Desk Server and copied the Whole data from the old server to the new Server. Everything works cool However, The $RequestLink seems to be stuck to the old Server's Link. The New Server "http://newServer" link works fine though but when changing the customize templates in the notification Rules in Admin Tab, it will still show the old server's Link. I have the the new Server Build 6003 Version (the data were coming from the old version 5501 i think) Please
Department not for further usage option
Hi, I have disabled some of the departments by checking 'Department not for further usage' check box in Admin > Department module. But I still see those disabled departments in other modules. I can still edit the request and set it back to the disabled department (since the dropdown menu still shows those disabled departments). Also, in the report, even though I de-associated these disabled departments from users, the reports still showing the disabled departments even though the requests showing
