Active Directory
I have the helpdesk set to auto pull all the users from our exchange active directory. Is there a way to set it so that it will show the user's full name? It currently just comes over as their login name for both the login and the full name. We have over 500 employees so I don't want to go through and rename them all.
schedule tasks not appearing after public holiday
I have some schedule task that have been created and log jobs for me to check servers etc every morning. Some of the jobs are daily and some are monthly for maintenance. Since a public holiday they are not running and logging jobs any more, I have to manually go to them as a admin and log the jobs by clicking on the arrow. What can I do to make these jobs run again? I do not want to re create them.
Home Page - Assets tab software graphs only showing MS
On the Assets tab of the Home page in Technician view are a number of graphs that show details about scanned hardware. One of the graphs shows details of scanned software that is installed onto the workstations scanned by SDP. The problem I am having is that this graph is only showing software from Microsoft regardless of the selection made from the "More" drop down menu. How can I change the filtering on this graph and is there any way that this page can be modified so that I can create my own custom
Ticket Conversation Issue
When a requestor goes to view a conversation (expands), the windows slides open and has the spinning graphic in it but no text, at the same time a new browser window opens and displays the message. Anyone else have this happening on 7013?
can not approve purchase order
Hi, I am trying out the Service Desk before buying it. When I create a purchase order and submit it for aprroval. When I log on as administrator and click on the PO number and there is no Approve this PO from the task menu bar. Please help. Dee
Active Directory, additional information to import
I'm currently demoing the ServiceDesk PLus product and I would like to know if it's possible to pull additional info out of active directory such as office, mobile phone, address, etc. If not, is this something for a future release? Thanks, John

In Departments List. (Admin Tab) It often to show only 10 items per page. Can you fix this.
Reporting Question, and customizing the view
Hello, I have a couple of questions. My first question is about reporting. I have asked this before, but did not get an answer. Is there a report that I can run to show time to resolve? If a custom one needs to be written, can someone help me out with that? Running on a SQL2005 server. My second question is about the view on the main Requests tab. I know about the box that you can click to being up the column views, and was wondering if there was a way to put Resolved Date in the list? Thanks! ben

Hey Everybody, We've been using servicedesk plus 6 for over a year now and use all of the features extensively. I'd like some feedback from some of you on how smoothly your migrations from 6 or 7 went, and the current state of version 7 for known bugs etc. it took me about 2 or 3 months to work all of the bugs out of opmanager 7 after upgrading from 6. Is servicedesk a smoother process? P.S. what options would I have for testing our migration? under the licensing how would i set SD+ up on a different
Problem/Change lists flicker when mouse moved up and down
When moving the mouse pointer up and down the Problem and Change lists the list wobbles/judders. It is very annoying and uncomfortable to use. This happens in IE 7 and Firefox 2. It does not seem to effect the Requests list.
Locked out of trial
We have recently installed and setup the trial of ServiceDesk Plus. It was set to authenticate via Active Directory pass through. The default administrator account was removed and a technician account added with the name MikeS. A number of days later (and many hours of setup and config) the Active Directory pass through tick was removed. Now we're unable to logon to the system. The only technician name in the system is/was MikeS. But we're unable to logon using it. How can we logon or how can we
unable to scan after upgrade to 7 from 6
just upgraded to :Version : 7.0.0 Build Number : 7012 now whenever attempting to scan a new workstation it comes back with a completlely different workstation. ie: "New Scan" choose PC228 it comes back with PC104. Our DHCP server is set to scavange records after 7 days, I tried manually removing all dhcp records and dns records for the workstations but same prob. we do not use netbios over tcp/ip pleadse help this is a showstopper for us.
Creation of Test Environment
I am in the process of setting up a test environment for SD+, our live is getting too big and busy to be using for my fiddling etc.. I have a few questions: Is it possible to have this setup on a Windows XP Pro machine with SQL Server 2005? When I restore database, will this also bring across the settings of SD+, like Mail fetch etc, or will this all need to be setup if needed? I have installed the same version of SQL etc as LIVE server etc, but the live server is not running XP pro but Windows server,

Is there a way to run a report filtering on the last n days from the current date? For instance, I want to run a report that returns results based on the last 10 days. Any ideas?

Search fields
I mentioned this bug quite a while back, and after several hotfixes it has still not been addressed, so I am mentioning it again. In the Search area in the left-hand column, there is a drop-down menu with different areas of the system to search in. As of 7.0, the options Asset, Workstation, and Software are not visible in that drop-down menu unless you are currently viewing the Asset tab. HIde expired or non existant assets
I need a way to hide /mask Assets that no longer exist in the main interface. We removed the accounts from AD but the rescan of the Domain and import does not remove those records and it should not. BUT there should be a way to not have to look at these items in the program. Relying on Report filtering is not adequate.
Unable to delete products and PO's
Hi, We have a bunch of products in SD that were in there before I became admin. When I try to delete them I get this error: FAILURE :Error occurred while deleting Product. Please report the problem to the system administrator, with the Error Code - 1,205,515,283,809. I made sure that I have no assets assigned to those products. I found out that I have some PO's with these products but I cannot delete those PO's also, I get this error: FAILURE :Error occurred while deleting purchase order. Please

Custom views - Error when selecting Sub Category

AD not automatically acquiring new employees
For a while my HelpDesk AD was automatically updating with new employees from Active Directory, now I have to manually import. The (new) Domain Name is correct as is the ID and password of the Administrator account. Is there a setting or a reset I need to perform to get the product to automatically pull from AD? thanks

I am checking out the asset management, and I think its a cool feature, it lets me see what licences are used so I dont have to keep track...except I have a corporate licence for Office 2003, and it is picking up the licence as valid for only three users. How do I get it to correct that information?

Asset field not populating automatically in build 7013
Hi. We are using Servicedesk Plus 7013 Enterprise. After the update to 7013 the asset field no longer populates automatically when a requestor name is chosen from the New Request screen. It flickers as if it has populated but doesn't. We then have to click the icon next to the asset field to choose the asset associated to the requestor. This was supposed to be one of the fixes implemented in 7013, but actually it has made the problem worse. I would appreciate a response from support please.

Hi There, Can someone tell me can I associate one monitor to two computers. I have a user that has two computers and uses a KVM swtiches between the two. I have managed to associate the monitor with one compute but when I go into the other computer and try to associate the monitor it's not in the list. Is this possible?
ServiceDesk system run out of space within SQL 2005 Express
We have just had our ServiceDesk system run out of space within SQL 2005 Express. The SQL server is stating we are only licensed for a 4G data file. We plan to upgrade the server but in the short term we currently have no system. In order to get our system up and running quickly we need to find data we can safely remove from within the database. Is there any data that is temporary we can purge? Any help on this issue would be appreciated.
Modeling virtual environments
I'm interested in Service Desk Plus, and I have the Enterprise demo installed. I can;t quite visualise how to model a typical virtual environment, in the CMDB part of this product. Every time a request is added, it will be automatically added twice. every request will make a duplicate with different ID.

We have changed the port from 8080 to 80 but when assiging calls the request link still says 8080 at the end how do you change the $Requestlink in the content variables?

Is there a way to create a popup window either at the log in screen or right after the log in? I know there is an annoucement section on the main page but no one seems to read them.

sort tickets by date as default (latest on top)?
hello all when I search for a certain keyword, I always receive the hits with the oldest on top of the list. Can anyone tell me how to set default with the latest date on top? Can't find it in the admin settings... Thanks!
