Performance issue with workstation filtering
I am currently running build 7013. I have been doing some major cleanup work on our inventory lately, and with the workstation list unfiltered, it performs fairly well. I should point out that we have 650+ machines in our primary domain and about 20-30 in a secondary domain currently in the list. When I try to filter the workstation list to just the machines in the primary domain, it takes quite a while to produce the filtered list. Where to change Software Categories
Hi, In my assets I also have all the Software found on the workstations. I can set a category for every software asset I have managed. However in this list of categories I only have these values: Database Development Operating System Game Graphics Internet Multimedia Accounting Others This list is not suitable for my company. I need e.g. Virusscan Office Tools ERP-System and so on. I have not found a place, where I can change these categories. Any hints? Juergen

hi i have written this query for extracting all requests closed and resolved for last month along with the pending request for a particular department. the results are fine except for the requests with pending status = yes, i want to completed date to be empty, it shows the format that i set. 2. second thing, how can the output the created date and other dates to just show the date and not time?? can any one help me on this, plsssssss??? my backend is MSSQL

Purchase Order Approve Permission
Hi SD+ Team, I've a request regarding Purchase Order approve: I see that Approve Role is available only for technicians but not for users. In my case, for example, Finance controller is considered user, not technician: usually he approves our PO, not one of us (IT Techs). Is there any possibility to give SDApprove role to requesters? I think is the same thing like when you submit an approval to some user regarding a normal ticket, do you agree? Thanks Cesar
Service Desk Keeps locking up and will not update
I am running 7011 and it keeps locking up on me and I have to restart the service. I get no errors that lead me anywhere. In addition, I have tried updating to 7012, 7013, and 7015 and it gets to 98% and then errors and uninstalls. I have called tech support. I sent them a copy of my database and have not heard back from them.

Sites in Reports
I am trying to set up reports for workstations and setup a Custom Report. I tried to create a report so that only a certain "Site" was displayed although nothing came up in results. I then instead created a custom report to show all the details of every workstation including the Site field and they are showing as "Not Assigned" on the report. Failed Hotfix update
I tried to apply 7015 to our 7009 installation, the update failed so I tried to uninstall the hotfix, this would not work either. I had to uninstall and reintstall ServiceDesk Plus ver 7009. Now I am ready to install 7015 again but the software shows this in the upgrade manager as being installed even though it is not. Anybody know how I get round this one? Shall I just wait and install 7016?

I'm looking at SDP to possibly replace our current helpdesk. I have all of these created: Requesters (with extra Location field) Technicians (a couple) Categories Regions Sites (Locations) Groups Here's how we route in our current helpdesk. Hi, When using SDP 6 we had entered all of our workstations and other assets, filled in all the details and assigned them to users. These workstations were named using the serial number of the machine rather than the computer name at the time as the computer name can change and sometimes does. The serial number was also entered into the correct place. Asset scan - User field
I have run an asset scan against a group of PCs. For most of them amongst the information collected is the 'USER'. Some of the the PCs do not collect this information. What exactly is being interrogated on the lcoal PC to populate this field ?
General Failure

Domain List
I just wanted to know if there is any way of excluding domains from showing up in the list.. Basically we have a domain list of 15 domains. I can manually delete them so they dont show on the domain list upon initial logon but they re-appear at a later stage. Is it possible to have our chosen domain only to be there and no other domains. Servicedesk on Windows 2008
I have setup Servicedesk on Windows 2008 and it appears to be functioning correctly. I searched the forums to ascertain whether or not it was in fact supported on this platform but I did not see any mention. My question is, will Servicedesk function fully on 2008? We are trying to deploy all new servers as win2k8 so I would rather deploy our production implementation to 2k8 and not have to worry about upgrading the OS later. Hello, At our IT Service Desk, we have spotted a rather silly issue with the button/option layout. Why is "Add Work log" option button located with the work log records, when the "Add Note" option button isn't located with the notes records. At the same time, why is "Add Note" available from the actions menu, but not "Add Work log"? Surely common sense dictates you have the selections available in BOTH sections of SDP, or both selections in once section. (Bit of a tongue twister). I vote that both

report folders disappear off left Reports Folders menu
2 Report Folders I created appear just fine in the main list of All Reports. But they do NOT appear in the REPORT FOLDERS left side menu. All other folders do appear there. BUT when I edit a report within one of the 2 folders that don't appear at left, then SAVE REPORT it to one of those folders that do NOT appear, all folders including the missing 2 DO appear in the left REPORTS FOLDERS menu, and it highlights the report's folder at left as it should. adding notes to closed requests
Hi I've been getting used to this product for the last week. One of the things I have noticed is that a user can add a note to a closed request via the web interface. However when a technician is looking at the list of requests I cannot see anywhere that flags that the request has been updated? Am I missing something? Tim
