Starting JavaClient in Fedora
In Fedora Core 3 the Server starts without any error. The web browser work perfectly. Websphere Application Server monitoring
I have just base websphere application server loaded with server1 listining on port 9080. I have enabled PMI and set the Instrumentation Level to Standard. Also perfServletApp is installed and running in server 1. Both Application Manager and websphere is running on the same machine When I try to monitor server 1 I always get error message. We are very much interested in this product as it meets all our requirements to monitor websphere application server. Please help me in resolving this error.

Hi, Is there a trick to getting Opmanager to see an IP Office phone system ? I have set the IP Office to run SNMP on port 161 with a read key of public, but Opmanager does not see it as running SNMP. Any ideas ? Mark.
Custom Monitor not displaying graph
I'm monitoring a Cisco PIX 525 sucessfully using OpManager. The CPU and Memory monitoring is working a treat (I'm getting graphs). I've added a custom monitor which seems to be working correctly as the threshold I've set is displayed as normal but when I display the graph it just shows NA. The custom monitor I've configured is to monitor the current connections on the PIX. MRTG is able to understand and graph the values so I can only assume I'm doing something wrong! OpManager: Managed Fedora Core 3 Server problem
I am running OpManager 5.5 on Window XP. I am having problem to manage Fedora Core 3 Server. The Fedora Server is running Net-SNMP 5.1.2 on it. On the OpManager I have a blue star on the Fedora Server, but I just can't pull any CPU, Memory, Disk Utilization info. I can't get Host resource from MIB Browser, but not all data are aviliable. Also, I have to use SNMPV1 or SNMPV2 to get MIB. If I use SNMPV3 to get MIB, it will fail. Please advise ASAP. Shaun
OpManager: Managed Fedora Core Server
Hi, We are team that implement the OpManager project for our school. However, we facing a problem to manage Fedora Core Server. We have installed the net-SNMP V2c package at the server and the agent is test running well by using the command SNMP-walk. But, when we add the device to the OpManager, it shown as non-SNMP nodes devices. Can anyone help us? This is very urgent case. FYI, we installed the OpManager at Window platform (Win XP prof.). The result from the SNMP-walk is attached in this discussion.

i have tried on three difrent computers 2 windows xp and one windows server 2003 EE ever 5 hours or around then all servers show all services as down except exchange most are internal one is external everything else is fine with the monitering to fix the problem i have to restart the service

Exception in event logs rules
Hi We use event logs rules but some software make some errors and warnings on the application logs.We use the Any Application failure and Any Application warning. Is it possible to made some exclusion in op manager for exclude this errors in the notification profile??? kind regards

I just installed Opmanager on SuSE 9.2. When I run the startup script it is saying it can't start the mysql daemon. MYSQL is installed and running. Any ideas?

I am using the Application Manger 6 Beta to monitor a Tomcat 5.0.28 instance. Hello, I am trying to view OpManager through a firewall using internet explorer with port 8899. Eg http://myserver:8899 Are there any other ports that I need to open up on the firewall to allow access because at the moment I cant get it. I have 8899 opened both ways. I also have port 80. Hi, I am using OpManager 5.5 on Window XP. And I am having problem manage a Fedora Core 3 Server. The server is running Net-SNMP 5.1.2. I am able to use MIB Browser to get Host-Resource MIB from the server. But have to use either SNMPV1 or SNMPV2. It will fail if i use SNMPV3. High CPU usage
Like the feel of this product but still getting problems with high CPU usage between 60% to 80% when the application is running. Task manager reports Java.exe is hogging the CPU when app launched. Is anyone else experiencing this problem currently running it on a Compaq DL380 with 1.4Ghz CPU 1.5 Gb memory. :cry:

Dell 2850, not recognized as SNMP enabled
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 with dual NIC interfaces. I have tried adding/deleting the server using both IP's. Neither one shows as being SNMP enabled. This server is running Windows 2003 Standard. I recently installed 3 brand new Dell PowerEdge 750's, and the 2850. I configured SNMP exactly the same on all 4 machines. The 3 750's detect SNMP just fine, the 2850 does not.

Alert notification sounds don't work
Hi, Having installed the free version of OpManager on a test machine, I found that I had to reinstall Java after installing OpManager to get the alert notification sounds to work - but now, installing it on the machine intended to be used as a network monitor, this doesn't seem to work! Should the sound function work right 'out of the box', or do I need to copy / run something before they will work? (Also, is there any way to get a sound to loop until the alert is cleared?)
CPU, Disk Space, Memory not polling
I'm not sure if the SNMP is not configured correctly or what, but these items are not being polled / data collected correctly. Also exchange monitor seems to appear as always sbeeing down but I know this is functional- any assistance would be great. Thanks, Tony
Problems monitoring servers with OpManager
I've enabled the SNMP on all servers but aside from one server, I cannot view the graph or whatever information regarding the servers. I'm currently using OpManager to monitor 4 windows 2000 server and two Solaris 8 servers. Although all the servers have SNMP enabled, OpManager doesnt show the blue star indicating it. One of the servers with a blue star indicating SNMP enabled doesn't even show the graphs for the Resource Monitors and I cannot generate the report for the server. Can anyone tell me

Netflow Analyser 4 Questions
Hi, I have a number of questions in regards to this great product. Licencing - What is the initial number of interfaces that can be managed, using the demo we are monitoring over 70 interfaces. Ultimately we would need to licence around 300 interfaces - probably split across 2 machines due to the flow rates. Database - An SQL database is utilised. What is the data reduction method used? Does the hourly data get aggregated/compacted in the daily totals etc. We would like to able to go back in time
OpManager 5, Linux (Fedora), cant access via WEB, Client ok.
New install of OpManager 5 free on Fedora 2. Had issues with 2 shared libs which I installed from RPM's which stopped the server and client running. However, while I can run the server and the client ok on the box, any connection to the WEB interface results in the logon screen where I login ok but the next page just shows the word "Error!" and a hard break (line). I have re-installed but get the same problem. Anyone know what the problem is and the fix please? I cant see anything similar on the
406 error in URL monitor
Recently i've seen an error in monitoring one of our websites. This is the error i get. 406: The resource identified by the request is only capable of generating response entities which have content characteristics not acceptable according to the accept headers sent in the request. "; It worked fine for a while, but i am not able to get this error cleared. I've deleted the object, recreated it, and i still get this error The website is functioning as normal. Any thoughts?
I can't find device to add to business view
Hello, I have discovered a new device by IP address. We have not created a forward or reverse DNS entry for security purposes. Opmanager shows the device as managed (blue start in upper right corner). The problem occurs when I try to add the device to a business view - right click, properties. The device does not show in the "All devices" list. How do I add the device to my business view? Thanks in advance.
