Hi, it would be great if the following features could be added to one of the next releases : 1) Rule-based notificaton Some devices can send e.g. syslog traps to OpManager. The trap OID is always the same, but the content may vary considerably. Some 'syslog-traps' are interesting, others not. It would be great if the uninteresting ones could be filtered out by e.g. message content (matching a string). In the notification-profile, a filter could be implemented by adding a 'criteria option' check box
SNMP Mibs and browsing
Hello, We are testing OpManager 5.5. We really like the way OpManager uses SNMP. Understanding SNMP can be so difficult to understand. At the same time we are new to using SNMP After looking at OpsManager It seems to take some of the trouble of dealing with Mibs from other devices easier. I am having trouble understanding how to browse a MIB and find a particular OID. For Example I have a MIB for a Bay Switch, how would I find the particular OID for say CPU usage? decrease average time on graphs
On the traffic graphs average time is set to 10 min. Can I change this value some where. I need more precisely graph because i usually have some pick on network. I want to set this value to 3 or 5 min.

Out Traffic
Hello, I've been evaluating the Netflow Analyzer product for a couple days now.. Comaped to the other products in this catagories, your seems like a very good value. Anyway, I cannot get the application to display Outbound traffic on my interfaces. I read the FAQ and it says that I'd need to enable netflow on every interface traffic passes to get this info, but after doing this, I still do not see it. Right now, the analyzer collects export v5. Will the analyzer be able to collect export v8? If so, would that be an upgrade or a new version?

why cant i see one of my 4200 printers i have 51 printers and opmanager say the printer is already in database yet i cannot set it
Monitor processes on Linux
Is it possible to monitor a running process (daemon) on a Linux Server. I would like OpManager to notify me if the process stops. It would be great if it could also re-start the process/server. This would be something like the Windows Services Monitor. Thanks for your help John Ponting
Grouping Server IP addresses
I've installed the demo of OpManager, but can't figure out if I can do the following: Auto Discovery recognises computers with many IP addresses as being several different machines. Is it possible to associate these addresses or to create a 'container' to hold all these addresses so that the display shows one icon per machine?
Slow performance and "No results to display" mess
I've running NetFlow Analyzer for about four hours. Whenever I require a report such as TCP_App port , source, destination or conversation display it gets very slow often halted. Some times I get the "No results to display" message. I'm running it on a Penitum III 1GHz Dual processor, 1GB RAM HP Server, RedHat 8.0 . CPU load doesn't reach 30% utilization. Thanks, EBreton
Notification profiles not working
Hi, We setup the mail server settings and we can send a test email just fine, but when we setup notification profiles and assign the profile to certain devices/clients, they will NOT send an email out. Is there anyway to debug? We really like this product, but we can't even get past the testing of notification emails... ps..I also have my profile to monitor everything and we have a printer that is down, but no alert is being sent out. My profile is even assigned to the printer! I also looked at the

Hi Our OpManager checks a router and his interfaces. The router has a 2Mb line to Customs Belgium (Serial0/0:0) and Customs Holland (Serial0/0:1). Hi i just recently compiled snmp -ucd version, and I got the cpu , memory, disk utilization working, but when I attempt to add the snmp disk partition utilization, it is failing. How can I get it to work properly. The community string is correct because the cpu , memory and disk utilization functionality works. Our "campus" is comprised of five undergraduate and two graduate institutions. The "campus" has its own class B address and that IP space is divided among the various institutions. Monitoring Cisco temperature
Hi, I'm trying to monitor the intake temperature on my Cisco 3845 routers. I'm using the inbuilt vendor-specific monitor to do this, and it's querying the following OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.3.1.3.1 I can query this with the MIB browser (I have CISCO-ENVMON-MIB loaded), and I can even graph it with MRTG. However, there are no graphs in OpManager! When I open the graph window, it just says "NA" - nothing else! Hope you can help, alec
URL and Web server
Hi, We are still busy to test OpManager and our last day is coming......... We monitor Web Servers. Good But all of our web services ( URL ) refers to a virtual IP address. With this and a auto-discover, we monitor each URL separately. If the physical server goes down, we have X servers which go down... But, we can, with a server monitored, add an url to check. Like that, If the server goes down, all URL aren't monitored anymore. With the first method ( auto-discover ) we can add all URL servers
Authentication Errors in Build 5504
I am experiencing this same Authentication Error issue in the latest build (5504), that was discussed in a thread earlier (and was fixed using AdventNet_ManageEngine_OpManager_5_SP-0_6_2.ppm ). The behaviour and test results are exactly the same ... it behaves like the SNMP community string 'public' is hard wired into the code somewhere. Any suggestions ... what has changed about connection to the MySQL database from the earlier release, I am no longer able to connect as previously, would you provide

I would much prefer the default graph behaviour to be line instead of area graphs. Any way to change this? Thanks
Alarm on SNMP Get Failure
I have some unix servers running a custom application. They also have a custom snmp agent running locally on the machine. My problem is that if the agent is not running, OpManager shows the status as green although it may be having an issue. Is it possible that in a future release, you can configure OpManager to alarm if an snmp get fails? Thanks, Jeremy
False Threshold Notification
I am getting a threshold rule violation for lack of free disk space. When I go and check the resource threshold rules for the device in question, I don't have the threshold specified that opmanager is squaking about. This is really annoying, any ideas?
OpMnager error on startup and missing interface data
Hi folks, I have recently install OpManager 5.5 build 5504 on Fedora Core 3 (Personal Desktop installation) to monitor couple devices included one Cisco 2621 IOS ver 12.0. First, the OpManager will not start as service according to the note form this forum and the file attached. It shows error message "execvp no such file or directory" when Starting OpManager service. I only can start the OpManager when login as root and run StartServer.sh script and then leave the session open. Second,OpManager
NetFlow Analyser and OpManager on the same box?
Hi, I've got eval copies of NetFlow Analyzer and OpManager running on the same box. I note that they both have their own copies of MySQL running to log data. - Can they be configured to use a single instance of MySQL? - I guess you're using MySQL for cross-platform compatibility? It's a long shot, but would it be possible to use a different SQL backend like SQL Server? - You can tweak OpManager to discard data once it's past a certain age. Can you do the same thing with NetFlow Analyzer? many thanks,
Install Error unpacking JAR files
From what we've been able to see, this could be a really great app. However, we're having problems getting it to install completely. We get to the "Unpacking JAR files" part of the install, which takes quite a long time, but it eventually fails with a critical error that backs out of the install and uninstalls everything. However, being that we're used to Windows apps that don't install themselves correctly, we noticed that if we kill the install process when the error comes up then the uninstall
slow reporting
I've been running NetFlow Analyzer for about 9 hrs now and I'm noticing a big slow down in getting a report result, for example, when I click on "TCp_App" in a "last hour" report for an interface. In one case, it took 37 minutes to get the result displayed. The router that is providing the NetFlow data is very busy as we have 5000+ students, etc. Is there a way to speed this up? Is this a memory allocation issue with mySQL? I really like the product but waiting 30 minutes for a report is a bit much.

Ok, somehow my post into the snmp group got missed so I had to demo this software to my network team without the ability of knowing if chassis snmp alarms really worked or not. We are planning to purchase your software here in the next couple of weeks, but before I cut a PO I would like some step by step instructions on adding and testing 3rd party mibs. ie from Cisco, Extreme, Dell etc. not just adding them into the mib folder but also how to test the snmp alarms from a cisco catalyst 6513, or 6509
Netflow - not working with 4500 sup 4 w/ netflow card
Ok, I got my 4500 configured for netflow and I can see by issuing a "Show Ip flow export" that it is sending to the computer with Netflow Analyzer. I never get a listing for the router at all... If I switch the router from version 5 netflow to version 1, I'll get a warning in the dashboard that it is receiving ver 1 packets, but if I switch it back to ver 5, I get nothing. Any clues? FYI - On the 4500 w/ net flow, there is only a "global" way to enable netflow in that, all interfaces are enabled.
