Is the availabilty/ping monitoring result reportable?
I would like to poll the ping result and display them as a graph. Is the ping result has round trip time, packet drop ratio stored? How to graph them, similar to traffic graphs? Thanks, Min
How To save the events older than 30 days on a disk
In the db maintenance settings you can specify the number of total alarms stored into the database and the time frame older alarms are deleted. Is there the a possibility to store the alarm database to a disk for audit reasons?

Hi, I'm monitoring thru WMI a 4 processeurs Win2000 server. It shows 98% CPU used on each processeur but it's not the reality... Most of the time it's only 2% used... Any idea ?
periodic automated port check
hi, I am trialling your product and would like to know if is possible to periodically check, or use an ongoing check, for flows to/from particular ports or apps and then have an automated alert generated, ie email? Deleting Requesters
I imported two different CSV files that had names in upper case and lower case in the other file. I thought the names would get overwritten in the second file if they were already added. But, I guess it could not distigish between the cases. I just want to mass delete all the requesters. Then I can add them back in with one CSV file. Instead of having duplicates.
Errant data? Last Hour vs. Last Day
I am evaluating the NetFlow Analyzer and am seeing some wierd information: When I look at the "last hour" data of one conversation flow, it is showing 45MBs of data. When I switch to "Last Day", it is only showing 4MB for the same conversation. How can this be? Shouldn't the Last Day show all of the data? I have nTop running on another machine and it is showing that the total data for the day is over 189MB (even though nTop doesn't show conversations, I know that the host in question only converses

Sp1 conflist with Ciscosecure software
I tried updating to Opmanage build 5510. Unfortunately the Windows Opmanage service now won't start saying 'Port 2000 port needed for opmanager has been occupied by some other application'. Which is right! It's occupied by CiscoSecure ACS which is also installed on the server. Build 5504 didn't have this as as requirement. Why 5510? Also I've tried changing the NMS_BE_PORT value in wrapper.conf but no luck, I still get the same error. Is there a way around this as I'd prefer not to go back to 5504?

Inventory versus assets
Maybe I am missing something, but wouldn't what I have inventoried be considered assets as well? Maybe the ServiceDesk Plus isn't geared towards that but, it would be nice to be able attach $$$ and purchase dates to the inventoried items. Currently you can only enter purchase dates that are present and future. I have had an IT department before I started using your software. I am unable to enter in say, my PO's since Jan 1st. Please advise, and can you include this in your next release.
Scond startup error!
Hello, I'm using evaluation version of analyzer on windows server 2003 sp1 and after I restart the netflow analyzer through shutdown.bat and run.bat files I recieved a following message: Database creation failed, refer server/default/logs for more information.... If I delete netflow directory in database catalog (C:\AdventNet\NetFlow\mysql\data) then analyzer startup successfuly. What can I do?

Hello everyone, My NetFlow analyser works well and I must say what a good product it is. It has really helped me in determining my bandwidth consuption. But I have a problem, on my dashboard it reports interfaces as "ifindex1". I have tried putting in the correct SNMP community string and still does not work. My second problem is that its able to show some applications their source port and destiny port. For some it does not show that, could there be something wrong. Please help. Thanks for the help
URL Monitoring and alerts
I have a number of URL monitors set up ... and they are monitoring perfectly ... except I have one question relating to the e-mail notifications for these URL monitors. Unlike the standard e-mail notification profile ... the URL monitor does not seem to have the option to define the FROM address for SMTP notifications. How can this FROM address (for SMTP notification) be changed / set on existing and new URL monitors ?
Re-usable URL monitors
Hi there, Is there any way to create *re-uableable* URL monitors? Having to add the same monitor, just with a different URL for hundreds of hosts seems way over the top. E.G We monitor whether a ASP script is running on all windows servers by querying /test.asp Currently it seems I have to define a new monitor for every single windows server. reports - any way to produce them on a schedule or save them
I think the app manager is fairly feature rich in terms of monitoring. however I can't seem to find a way to 'save' reports, or automatically generate them. Is there *any* plan for a "save as pdf" or scheduler for reports? Also, will there be any feature to limit application groupings to specific users? e.g., user A can see status for application A, while user B only see's B's monitors? thanks brian

We want to be able to escalate a critical alarm, say a "router-down" alarm that is not responded to within 20 minutes. This is impossible when the process to check overdue responses is run hourly, at a minimum. Please consider modifying the "Run this Check every XX HOURS" so the increment is in minutes, as in "Run this check every 5 MINUTES.
Possible error in OpManagerServerClasses.jar
It looks like in the OpManagerServerClasses.jar there is a naming error as there is both a com.adventnet.me.opamnager and com.adventnet.me.opmanager in the jar file. The UPSDiscoveryFilter.class is contained within the tree that has opamnager as it's name.
Read-only users
With the plans for implementing a detailed user access system in OpManager and ApplicationManager, are there any plans to add 'read-only' users? If so, would 'read-only' users require a full license for access to objects? I ask this as currently we monitor services and servers for clients in our datacenters and they have 'read-only' access to the current monitoring solution (Nagios). With the current pricing structure for OpManager it would be prohibitively expense to replace the current solution.

multiple front end Opmanagers linked to same remote MYSQL DB
Is it possible to have due to large ammount of instances that are being monitored by a single Opmanager system build an environment where you have 2 or more systems running Opmanager all linked to the same exact OpmanagerDB on a seperate MYSQL server? This would be simular to what Solarwinds Orion does. I would love to have one system dedicated to autodiscovery, while another system is doing the actual polling of the systems, while possibly having a 3rd system available just for the web/java portal.
CPU utilization for SMP servers
In testing we're weeing odd behaviour for SMP servers. E.g. New Alarm Escalation feature - Use BV rather than Category
Currently Alarm Escalation is limited to grouping by Infrastructure Category. This prevents us from grouping our servers, for example, into critical and non-critical groups. Certain servers can wait until morning to be rebooted. Other servers might really need immediate attention. We could create a Business View called "Critical Servers" which could contain a list of these critical devices. Please consider using Business View rather than (or in addition to) Infrastructure Category for grouping devices
MySQL stats bug
There is a bug in the query Appmanager is using to pull table data from MySQL monitors. The query is not quoting table names when making the query. Feature request: 3rd party plugins
Are there any plans in the future to allow the query of third party monitring software plugins? More poitedly, Nagios plugins and their NRPE framework. We're busy with our evalution and the main problems we're running in to is the fairly limited application support base. Having an interface to parse Nagios plugin results would provide a huge base of existing monitors and make the software that much more flexible. Is it possible to monitor a SQL Server 2000 server only installed as an instance. SQL Enterprise manager uses: [servername]\[instancename] When we use this we get the message wrong ip etc.
Creating, monitoring and graphing custom MIBs
I've been struggling for a few hours now trying to get AppManager to create a custom monitor for Qmail queues. I have added two MIBs on the mailserver which return counts for incoming and outgoing mail queues. When querying the MIBs they return the expected values. Adding a custom monitor. I created a cutom monitor (SNMP) for the server and added the MIB, but I never seem to get any data and the monitor appears as incomplete. Is there a comprehensive guide for creating custom monitors and graphing
Installation package on linux
we have installed free edition on linux. all works fine until we want to manage a monitor. Performance Stats for Nortel Routers
I have a Nortel ASN router which does not show up under the available device types. When monitoring this router, I don't received any performance stats like CPU and/or memory utilization, or interface related stats. Is this a MIB or OID issue? Thanks!

Servers only allowed 1 NIC?
all my systems that are servers only show 1 nic listed. This is major bad. we have in cases 5 NICs in 1 system that is a SERVER. I DO NOT want to change the classification of the device from SERVER to ROUTER or SERVER to SWITCH to be able to monitor more than 1 NIC. Why did you guys make it this way?
