IP Address error!!!!
When I try to discover my network, and type in my network address for the lan: 192.168.1.1, it brings back this error: "Please enter a valid Network Address " I have tried all different IP addresses and it won't accpet anything I type in. Ranges won't work either. Can someone please help?
Problem on monitoring the PIX Firewall and Netscreen 50
I have some problem on monitoring PIX and Netscreen on Opmanager. While add the device , the Opmanager can't identify what it is. And the SNMP mark now shown even SNMP already started in PIX and Netscreen. Then I select the device type by myself (why no Netscreen 50 to choice ??), and input the password of the device. But it still can't monitor the device status. It is Opmanager setting problem? or PIX and Netscreen SNMP setting problem ?? Thanks all support ~
servers coming up as desktop
Just added my six servers and 2 worked fine and came up under the server list, but then the other 4 came up as desktops, what can i do to get this to configure correctly
The Monitor do not respond

Why? I have other graphs assignd to this Cisco and all are working!

Question for MIB & Hardware Monitor
Sir, 1. Some MIB return value is a string not number. Example: SysLocation. I don't think it can use the "Custom Monitors". So...how to retrive and show it on the device snapshot page? 2. We have many server with SCSI RAID system. Like HP and IBM. If one HD fail, the system still up. It will not have an alarm. So...is it possible to monitor this kind of problem by OpManager? Sam.

Central Management console
We want to run two copies of application manager and wish to use ONE central management console to report on SLA's from both servers. Is this possible? If so, what is required if a firewall is between the management console and the application manager server.

Feature Enhancement Request - Trap Processor (save) page beh
I'm editing the 55th page of snmp trap processors (out of a total of well over 100 pages, 100 x 10 processors for page=too many to browse back to in a hurry). When I save a change, I'm returned back to the 1st page of trap processors. I would like instead by default to return to the current page I'm working on. An option to returning to the 1st page, could be offered with the presence of perhaps a seperate link or command button. Thank you much :)

ODBC queries with MS Access and Excel
I am evaluating the ServiceDesk product and looking for the ability to link the database tables via MS Access in order to run joined reports with other SQL databases that support our operation. I am able to setup the ODBC connection, however all fields are displayed as #deleted. When linking to an excel sheet I am able to query the database, but all the date fields appear as non-date values. It is critical for this database to link with MS access for our reporting needs. Are there any resolutions

We just purchased OpManager and I added our PIX 515E firewall to the list and get this message: AuthenticationFailure : .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.451 COMFWL243.gfsiinc.com Cisco Cisco PIX Security Appliance Version 7.0(1) Not sure what this means. Task Options disappear on requests after install of SP10
Hi, I just installed SP10. I had Version 4.1.0 Build 4108. I noticed after this install that the requests our technicians had already created prior to installing SP10 do not have the Task Options available when opening these requests. I also noticed that any previous requests that were closed do not have these options available. This is a big problem. I need some help on this. Feature: Turn off Time to complete requests
We do not need to have requests completed by time. In other words, when a request is saved, the system simply adds 3 day, 5 days or whatever SLA setting is applied. We do not need the time factor. It causes problems where a user logs a request at 09:03 with a 3 day SLA. As far as we are concerned the request can be completed anytime up until the end of the 3rd business day - not by 09:03 of that morning. If we don't realise the time of the request it can become overdue. We would like an option to
SLA Violation report not right
The SLA Violation report shows request where the SLA was not violated - why? What is the criteria that determines if a SLA has been violated since I can't find any reason for the requests that are appearing on the report to be there. The report function is good, however on most reports the charts are truncated and squashed. Can a method be added to allow charts to size themselves correctly. Thanks in advance.
E-mail and scanning...no worky...
Trying out MESD, and love its promising functionality, but... E-mail configuration consistently fails to authenticate, every time. Network and Windows domain scans never authenticate. WMI and DCOM are all enabled. WMI queries are capable of being ran from both the MESD server and the workstation I use to access MESD via the web. But every time I scan a system that will respond in every other way/method, I get: FAILURE : Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled
Service Desk Plus hangs on startup
Hello I am currently evaluating service desk (Free version) and everything so far has been great! Love the product. The power was cycled on the SD server without properly closing down service desk . The service desk starts as normal until it gets to the application layer starting..... and from there the SD hangs. I am able to shut down the SD application. I do have a backup from a few days ago however I would like to get the system back to its original state. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
Unable to send SM alert
I have been unable to send an SMS alert. This is absolutely vital for our usage. If I set up an alert with a valid email address it works just fine, as soon as I change it to eg: "0427374220@sms.link.com.au" it just dissappears completely. To expand: I have enabled mail relay for the machine hosting Opmanger, I can send to the SMS address using BLAT at the command line or competitors product (I am evaluating both) GFI NSM and both work just fine when the address is changed. So there is no problem
Partition Utilization
Is it possible to monitor disk partition usage as a percentage of that partition? I've found that I can monitor partition free space and used space, but not percent used for that partition only. Thanks, TK

From what field in the AD entry is the Employee ID imported. We found the other fields, but the ID field is not documented.
Devices not displaying by name - just IP
About ten percent of our devices don't resolve to name, they are just displayed with the IP address. I have deleted, re-added using the FQDN but it still displayed with just the IP address. Also, is there a way to create a custom report to find out how many of the servers are running mssql or another process? Thanks, Mark
CPU Utilization Mod to XLM file
I am trying to monitor the CPU Utilization of a Application Firewall using the private enterprise MIB. I added a new resource monitor section in the opmanager_graphInfo.xml file, stopped and started opmanager. I added the resource monitor to the application firewall but no data. I did a test of the new resource monitor and it appended a .0 to the end of the OID. Why did the application append this suffix. Sending GOOD messages
Hi, in the former product we used to monitor our network (devices) there was a possibility to create a so called GOOD message, which means that you receive (in our case) an email that tells you the device is working again. That's especially helpful if you only have short interruptions and the error condition 'disappeared' by itself. Is there a way to do so in Opmanager?? :?:

hello! i'm testing opmanager on 2 windows 2003, on a workgroup. i'm viewing for restart services when one is down. on the local server with console, there's no problem. service restart. but for the other server managed, the first with console reporting that service is down, but can't restart this one. the local administrator are the same, with same password. URL Monitor
Is it possible to use a different proxy server for each URL monitoring profile? The reason for that is we have two internet connections from two different ISP�s and each connection has its own proxy server. I would like to use URL monitoring to monitor the availability of the internet connection as sometimes the internet connection goes down while the router interface remains up. Hi Have have a number of NetportExpress(tm) 10 Single-port Print Server's on our network and was looking for advise on the following. I have added the device type but they are discovered as desktops. Is it possible to get these to be discovered as printers, and show the status simular to HP printServers? Netflow on Hybid 6509's running CATOS
We have a number of CISCO 6509 running CATOS which supports Netflow version 7 upwards only. I understand that the new version of netflow now supports version 7. However, the licensing of the software is based around number of interfaces monitored. With CATOS each individual port appears as an interface, unlike native mode where VLANs are displayed. My question is is there a license option based on the number of devices monitored as opposed to interface. In my environment I would require One license
