Changes to email interface
I'd like to see a few minor changes to the email interface. For example, When I reply to a person who posted a task.... 1. It would be great to have the cursor automatically appear in the top-left position of the BODY, so I can just start typing. Now, I have to manually select where I am going to begin my message, before I can begin typing. 2. When I SEND the email, it would be equally great to just have the window close after sending it. I edited HostResource.xml to perform a vmstat 7 3, rather than three iterations every one second as it was producing erroneous spikes in CPU. I restart Application Manager and it stopped collecting CPU information. Under "Home", "Servers with high CPU Utilization" reports no servers are being monitored, and the CPU graph on all servers disappeared. Does the ability exist to change this call? Trap processor not working
Hi, I am evaluating OpManager (v 6003). I'm getting unsolicited traps from a custom agent. I want them to be show has an alarm so I used the Trap Processor. After that, I'm not getting unsolicited traps from the agent, but I'm not receiving alarm either . What wrong? Thanks for your support.
enhancement request - availability reports
Hi Is it possible for the following enhancement request to be considered... When clicking into a servers availability, you get a today, yesterday, last 7 days etc view of availability, which takes into account the services monitored on the server. What would be nice to have would be the following.. 1) Show all monitored services on the server (eg ports, nt services) in this screen with relevant breakdown of up/downtime. Right now it just shows that the server was down for X minutes, but doesnt tell
Added Windows Service Monitor not showing green light
Hi, I have added the OpManager services on my OpManager server to be monitored and the green rectangle is not showing on my server map. All my other servers show the rectangle. Any ideas? Adrian.
Sending E-mail To Requesters
Ok, I'm in the process of configuring our ServiceDesk Plus application and my boss originally was the one that set it up and configured the mail settings, importing the requesters using Active Directory, etc. So, my question is...how do I send an e-mail to all requesters on the system once we're ready for them to use it for the first time? The Admin Guide tells you how to do this if you're creating a new requester, but I want to know how to do this if they are all already created and maybe the initial
Polling time
Hi I am currently trying out the software. I want to check the status of all our servers. But I dont want them to be pinged together affecting network trafic. I know that you can change polling interval but I want polling interval to remain same. I want to carry out polling at different times for different servers. Exactly what I want is this: Polling interval: 5 mins. But each server polling to be conducted at different times. Is this possible in opmanager. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,
SNMP Trap Processor
Hi, I have configured OpManager to monitor approximately 400 Aruba access points via snmp. The problem I am having is with the SNMP Trap Processor. By default the severity for the wlsxAccessPointIsUp trap is critical instead of clear. This is resulting in the alarm not getting cleared after an AP becomes available. If I manually change the severity status to clear for the wlsxAccessPointIsUp trap, OpManager stops receiving or maybe displaying this type of traps. Is there a way to fix this problem?
hyperlinks in the emails
Hello - the hyperlinks to the support calls in the notification emails do not work? will not let us clikc on them??? have tried various different mail formats, but no joy.. anyone come across this b4? cheers P
NetflowAnalyzer ver5 , receives only IN traffic and no OUT
HI AdventNet, great and very nice program. Previously i used NTOP and didnt like it very much. With NetflowAnalyzer there is a problem that I cant see the OUT traffic of the interface.. The IN is counted very good.. I suppose if NTOP showed both the IN and OUT then i dont have to enable anything on the router so N.A. can gt the OUT..Any ideeas?? Thanks a lot!! Oleg R.
Reporting Question
Hello - The company I work for is split into three business areas and I need to be able to report how many calls etc.. are logged by each group. Our Active Directory info for each user has a field that defines the business area they work for. what I need to know is can I run a report that will drill down into this data? I will be using crystal reports to query the database, but cannot see how I would drill down into this data. The only work around I can think of would be to have an additional field
Where are my requests?
Where are my requests? ... Not the requests that are assigned to me but those requests that I have created. Where can I, as a technician, see the requests that I have created in the service desk. Requesters have this functionality so why don't technicians. Maybe we do but I can't see it. Help!

Hello, whenever a request is deleted, does that totally remove it from the database? and as a result stop it from being included in reports? Just been playing around with the package and noticed that is function could be quite deadly if someone deletes a request in error.. cheers Pete
Syslogs from SuSE 10
I have installed EventLog Analyzer on Windows Server 2003. I can get event logs from Windows machines but not the linux machine. I entered *.*@196.4.x.x (real IP address omitted for security reasons) in the syslog-ng.conf file within the etc directory. I also looked at the services file within etc, the port listed was TCP 514 for syslog. So I changed the port number on the Eventlog Analyzer host config from 513 to 514. I am still unable to retrieve any syslog files from the linux box. Any ideas?

Hi All, We have been using NFA 4 for a few months now on our WAN link and it's opened our eyes considerably to our traffic and allowed us to manage it alot better. Thanks for great, very usable product. The small query I have relates to the times displayed. We have just changed in the UK to BST and now everything is 1 hour out. The NFA Server is running the correct time (BST), but all reporting appears as GMT. Is there a way to change it over? It is not a problem for me, but a little confusing when

MIB Issue (URGENT)
I am currently testing OpManager, our company would like to use this mainly for SNMP management to start with, but we need to ensure it will accept our third party MIB file before we can purchase the professional version. Cisco Router not showing Null0 interface
Hello, I have 2 Cisco 3640's in HSRP. In Opmanager, on one of the Ciscos I can see Null0) as an interface, on the other, I cannot. I also receive the following alarm: AuthenticationFailure : .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.1.5.0: null on the router that OpManager does not see the Null0 interface. Any ideas? Adrian.
Could not see security eventlog
Everything looks fine so far, but I could not see any compliance reports.. All are without any data. I�m only monitoring my notebook at the moment and on the Homepage under "Total Events per Event Type" it shows me only Application and System. How can I get Security as well? thx

Real Time
Hello again, I have another question. This one about the real time reporting. The user manual says that NFA provides real time reporting. Does this mean that when i look at a traffic graph I'm seeing what the traffic really looked like at that last 10 minute interval? Or, does this mean that I'm going to see the data as it comes into NFA second by second? My impression of real time is that you see it as it happens, but i just can't seem to figure out how to view it. Thank you again for the help!

Is it possible to assign a request to a queue and a technician ? This would be very helpful for a manager to monitor the requests and the tech who's taking care of it.
server cpu / memory / disk utilization never change
Hello, We installed OpManager V6 and we're monitoring a switch and 1/2 dozen Linux boxes (all CentOS V4). On the dashboard for each server we see the graphics for CPU Utilizaiton, Memory Utilization and Disk Utilization. For the CPU and Memory the value for each server have been absolutely constant for 3 days now. We know (at least) that the CPU utilization will change during the day (when cron's run etc). Can we get some info on how to debug this? Thanks, Frank

Host Groups Do not display
We are currently testing EventLog Analyzer in our Enterprise and we have added some groups and added Hosts to those groups. However the groups do not show any host members and the hosts do not list the groups either ? We have uninstalled removed and reinstalled the product and if necessary will move it to another server if we have to.

Hi, I need a tutorial on how to set up event monitoring on a remote computer running Windows XP. Unable to delete objects?
I just ugpraded to the latest hotfix. I am unable to now delete any objects. user logon
How do we make it so when our users login to add a request the default network is not shown. We are a school with a large user base and instead of the users having to input name password and then the network can it be set to our domain only removing the option from the user to select domain local logon and so on. We just want user name and password is what i'm getting at. Thanks.
Request Number Jumping..
after 5004 we are getting surprises, daily atleast one time Mail fetching is freezing, then after SD restart it start working again, and today suddenly request numbers jumped from 322 to 603 ??? any idea guys n gurus ?

Is there a way to seed the PO number and then have it autonumber for each new PO by incrementing by 1 each time?

Is there a way to change the actual layout of the snapshot page for each device or for a specific type of device? Also, can you replace the graphs for cpu/memory/disc utilization with custom graphs from our own mib?
Adding Due Date to Request form
