Logging using different firewall
Hi support, i would like to ask if the manage engine is capable of different access depending on the firewall? Example, client A is using a FG1 firewall, client B is using a FG2 firewall, and client C is using a Check Point firewall. All of the 3 firewalls is configured to send syslogs to the Manage Engine. Now, what I want to do is that client A can access the Manage Engine but will only see the reports generated by his firewall, which is FG1. Same goes with the other 2 clients with their respective

EventLog analyser stops checking after 3 days.
Hi there. I was evaluating 4.0.0 build 4010. I had it installed on a Windows 2003 server and it was monitoring the event logs on two Windows 2000 domain controllers. I found that after approximately 3 days of monitoring that it would stop and that it could no longer log onto the servers to bring down their event logs. It also stopped my backup software, ArcServe Brightstor 11.1, from working. This is installed on one of the two W2K servers being monitored and it could not log onto the other W2K server

Hi, i have created a power user and delegate reset password control to that particular power user with delegation control over one group of users. However i found that, that power user has the right to reset other group's users, including those administrators. can anyone give me some advice? thanks in advance
service not starting on windows 2003
I have tried to install the ADManager on one of our servers (not a DC), and it installs, but the service won't start. This is the error box that comes up with I try to start the services from services.msc: I then installed it on another server and it works fine. Is there anything specifically that might be conflicting with its operation on the first box?

Hi, again. The way SCP monitors SLA's resolution times, incidents escalate only AFTER the SLA has been breached. This way, the current escalation method does not help preventing SLA violations nor avoiding any associated penalties that are eventually due. Couldn't you, perhaps, consider creating some sort of a "prevention timer" to be monitored by the escalation engine (unless, of course, there is other way to do this)? Switch Port Mapper Issue
Hi, I am currently trying OpUtils4 and am trying to get the switch port mapper to query a device in the US from the UK. I keep getting the error E1002: Unreachable host. I dont understand this as the siwtch is not located behind a firewall or router with access list denying the service. More strangley if I use another tool within OpUtils, Cisco Tools - Interfaces, it details all the interfaces on the device . I can also use the ping tools and get a response from device in question. Slow Response Times for all DMZ apps and servers
Hi, I have a PIX 501 firewall between my internal LAN and my DMZ. I have a variety of servers in the DMZ, Oracle, Exchange, URL, IIS etc. My AppManager is located in the internal LAN. It's version is 7007. My firewall is setup with a basic configuration, no NAT, just basic port blocking and a small access-list. All my DMZ servers report a slow resonse time. Is this due to the firewall? Anyone else seen this? thanks Dave
Traffic polling interval
Hi, In the Admin -> Traffic Monitors I have the Interface Rx Traffic and Interface Tx Traffic polling interval set to 5 min however when I add a new router it is not inheriting those values instead it is taking the 15 min default value. Any idea how to correct this problem? Thanks, Ramzi

I'm trialing the Netflow analyser 5 software and changed the admin password. But now I can't login as admin. I know. Should have tryed a logon before exiting the current admin session. I noticed in the forum that the support guys have a script that will reset the password to the default. Can anyone help... :(

I need to check the internet traffic utilization for remote location on wan. Now i selected custom report & port 3128 (proxy server port) and created a report of all the IPs.For in traffic details it shows SOURCE IN & DESTINATION IP, source IP is the proxy server IP and destination IP is the remote location IP, application is Internet(HTTP -Proxy), port 3128 and the traffic in MB. Now what is Out traffic Details where I have IPs from remote location as Source IP and Destination IP is the Proxy server
Admin -> SNMP Trap Processors - unable to access page 2
While adding in some custom trap processors I realised that I was unable to access any of the processors on page 2. The new processors are there - I deleted some processors from page 1 until they showed up on page 1 - but when I select <Goto Page> 2 page 1 processors are displayed once again. Hi I am monitoring routers & scheduled a report on device availability. It gives router up time but not based on interfaces. Can some one please help me solve this. Can I have report based on serial interfaces & ethernet interfaces. (Link Uptime ) instead of just router uptime? I have a device that isn't showing up and when I try to add it OpManager says that the device is already present in the system. I ran the RemoveDBEntries.bat against that device name, but I am still getting this message. help! Shawn

Problem with high load
Hello. I installed opmanager about a week ago, and im currently monotoring 23 servers. For the resource monitor i use standard settings, i monitor cpu,memory and disks. On 2 of the servers the winmgmt.exe process hits 100% cpu usage when i add this servers to opmanager. If i disable snmp it stops and the servers goes fine. The dll file the winmgmt.exe are using is wbemcomn.dll and it�s the same file on both these servers, on the other servers i dont have this file? I checked the microsoft support
Problem defining incoming mail settings
Hello, We have created an ActiveDirectory account (Exchange 2000) especially for Service Desk ; but when entering the login info in incoming mail settings, we've got the error message "FAILURE :Email Settings saved successfully. But error occured while trying to check connection with mail server - Authentication Failed using the given username and password." Curiously, after some more tries, it appears that old accounts (first created in NT network and imported in Exchange 2000 during its installation)
Problem in discovering Router 2651 interfaces
Hello all The OpManager has sucessfully discovered router 2651 on the network. It had discovered this router as a switch, hence i changed the device type to router. But the problem is that it does not display the router interfaces. Please let me know how this is to be done. Thanks swordfish667

We are trying to set a few defaults for the NEW REQUEST screen via the configuration wizard. The defaults are: Status = Open Mode = Phone Level = Level 1 Group = Service Desk There are no errors when we hit SAVE. When I go to preview a new request (after a refresh), the defaults are: Status = Open Mode = Phone Level = Level 1 Group = NONE When I go back in to the configuration wizard, and look at the defaults for a new request, the settings are: Status = CLOSED Mode = NONE Level = NONE Group = NONE

I am attempting to do the e-mail notification setup. I have configured the server name and the IP address. When I attempt to send an e-mail to a technician, I get a mail notification error. MSSQL to MYSQL Conversion
We have been having a lot of issues with MSSQL being the back end for OpManager. Is there any way to convert everything in it (I could live without the history, but not anything else) to a MYSQL database instead to see if it runs more reliably? Also, when using a MSSQL database the dbmaint and dbbackup utilities don't seem to work. Thanks
Disk Usage monitoring on Solaris through Telnet SSH
I've searched the forums and have found topics which are related, but don't seem to answer this question. I /think/ i have my snmpd.conf file set correctly, but still could not get snmp based monitoring to work. So I gave up, and went with telnet based monitoring. CPU/ Memory seem to work fine. Disk monitoring just shows all space as free. A big pink pie chart is all i see. This is incorrect. As mentioned, I am using the Telnet based disk usage monitor for Solaris. The test results come back good:
