Is there a way to manually assign a workstation ID to a current user?

This product would be much better if you could add more details about the devices they relate to. i.e. attach or add config info about the devices, track their ip addresses and other custom fields etc...
Software Inventory - Description Field
Could we have a description field for the scanned software in inventory like we have for the manually added software items. Ideally this could be viewed as part of the software summary enquiry and could be edited when you drill down on the software item. Also is it possible to have a flag that identifies if software is scanned or manually added? Thanks Jason

When posting a resolution the date format for 14.37 (2.37pm) appears to be 02:37. e.g. Submitted on : 02 Jan 2007, 02:37:23 Not a major problem, but we may get requests for overtime...

Clustered Exchange 2003 WMI Monitoring
I am running the free version of opmanager as a trial to see if it is something I want to purchase. I am trying to get the WMI Exchange 2003 application monitor running. It keeps telling me that the class is invalid when I try to add it. I have rebuild the counters, and have comfirmed in perfmon that I can see, and collect data from the counters. I can add a WMI counter for CPU, Memory, Disks.... so it isn't a permission issue, any thoughts?
Does the free version support Requester Login?
I'm evaluating the free version. I enabled AD and imported requesters, but I don't have an option at the login screen (http://<servername>:8080) for a "requester login." Is this by design? Sorry I have so many questions in a row; I've been tasked with rolling this out.
Software Report
I'm trying to generate a report for softwares detected in my domain. The report will be used for auditing purpose. Can I get a report with all the managed software together with the number purchased license? How can I do this?
Email Attachments
When sending an email from a ticket, if a file is attached (no matter what size) it does not appear in the received message. It does not appear in replies to requestor or emaisl to technician. Typical attachments are short word documents, so they are well below the 3MB limit. What needs to be changed so that the recipient will receive the attachments? Thanks
Has monthly calculated interest, been added to product yet?
We have a group that evaluated a previous release of Service Desk Plus. It almost made the grade, except for lacking a feature to calculate interest on a monthly basis - for asset management. If that feature has been introduced, we would like to take a look at the newest version.

Blank page while trying to create a monitor
I'm trying to create a Server monitor, OS = linux, method = ssh, valid username, valid password, the same settings that worked on a different host just previous to this one. When I click "Add Monitor(s)", I get a blank page. "View Source" shows no text whatsoever. This is a completely fresh install, no service packs installed, only one other monitor created, no thresholds, no alerts, etc. All I've done is: 1. disassociate all monitors from the "Applications Manager" monitor group, which is created

Enabling HTTPS and IE erros
I enabled https and port 8081 on the SD server. After restarting SDP, I browse to the site with IE 7.0 and it gives security certificate errors. Firefox 2.0 accepts the certificate with no problem. Is this an issue with others and IE 7.0? I would like to enable this feature for security purposes, but the majority (150) of our PCs are using IE. Please advise. Thanks. David
E-mail notification problem
Hi, I can't receive some mail notifications when I receive TRAP. no option for device icon change
Hi, I am unable to change custom device type icon in opmanager client business view for a device as it does not give me the option of "change icon..." when I right click the icon. I am using opmanager 5.6. Any help will be very welcome. Thanks in advance.
Live Reports has no data
I am evaluating FireWall analyzer for one of our customers. They have PIX 515E version 6.3. All the other reports are giving details properly but the "Live Reports" has no data. Please advice how to rectify the matter. Rgds, Nilanka.

Can the administrator account name be changed?

Changed login name and cannot log in - need password reset
I changed the login technician name from "administrator" to our company name. Now I cannot log in. It won't accept the prior password or a blank password or "password".
New feature idea
Before we converted over from Track-It, we had recently upgraded to Track-It 7.0, which had several new addon features available. One of those features was a domain password reset option that allowed somebody to reset their own domain password (or perhaps unlock their account) by logging into to the web interface on, say, a neighbor's PC, and answering one or two security questions to identify the user. FA - Java performance
I'm evaluating FA from few days. Running it on Debian Sarge, with Pentium4 2.8 CPU, 2GB RAM, SCSI 10k HDDs. Not very fast in overall, but not bad as well. After starting FA, I can see java process at 99.X% CPU. Is it normal? I have 1 firewall, with rather not much activity - 1500 events from beginning. Thanks, Chris

Error in Data Collection When App Manager is used with JBoss
Hello, I am trying the Application Manager for my JBoss based application. I have installed both the free edition and 30-day trial edition. It does connect to the JBoss Server and show some statistics, but it does not show EJB, JDBC and other information. Also when I created the monitor, I got an exception. 15:05:44,211 WARN [ServiceController] Problem starting service AdventNet:type=DataCollector,name=System java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: null object name Please let me know how to fix this.
FreeBSD support
Are their are any plans to support OpsManager on FreeBSD. I tried to install it using FreeBSD's Linux compatibility package and get "ELF binary type "0" not known." error when trying to execute binary installation file.

Which edition? Do I need MSP?
Hi guys! I've just checked out the trial edition of OpManager, and I think it is truly an awesome product! However, I'm thinking I may need the MSP edition. Do I? We are an engineering company with 18 offices in 3 states. We have DCs at each location, as well as Cisco Pix's file servers, etc. In one office we have exchange, some web servers in several offices, etc. Would we benefit from using the MSP edition? What could the MSP edition give us that the regular edition doesn't?

Where is the self-service portal?
What is the URL for requesters (users) to log into the Self Service Portal? The main URL (port 8080) goes to the technician login. Is there a separate login page for requesters?
Incorrect password locking out account
We went through our monthly password rotation and somewhere in OpManager a login is using an incorrect password. I have checked all of the server and desktop items, but none seem to have the username with the incorrect password. Is there a tool for MySQL that will search for any occurence of the incorrect password in any table and let me update it with the correct one? If not, how can I clear the database of ALL data, other than uninstalling and reinstalling the entire package? Thanks. -Eric.
Purchase Order product list empty after data restore
Recently, I moved my 30 day eval of SD+ from a workstation to a server that will be housing it once we purchase the product. I followed instruction I found to backup then restore the data and everything came over properly except for one thing. The drop-down list to add an item to a purchase order is blank. Is there a way to force re-populate this list?? Thanks!
