Diff between Service Monitors and Windows Service monitor
Hi All, What is the difference between Service Monitor and Windows Service Monitor in OpManager MSP edition. To me they both seems to monitor Windows Services and trying to figure out what the difference is. Please let me know. Thanks hpillai

Can not add interfaces to monitor for bandwidth. I have tried using both the V1 and V2c options and the program wont even let me add a single interface yet I can see the list of interfaces on my router. I just upgraded to the professional version and can't for the life of me figure out why this simple task is just not working.

Hello, I'm evaluating NFA for my company and I'd have to say that I like this app and GUI better than any other out there. I have ran into a major issue though. I'm simply managing two different interfaces on two different 7206 Cisco routers. My ports are correctly registered as they are imported into NFA via SNMP. When I start NFA everything seems to be fine and works great, but usually after about 5 to 10 minutes I can no longer view source, destination, or top conversations. Hosts and applications
Email not working
After setting up my SMTP server settings (I have tried with both GMAIL and my email host), I press test and it says that the settings are fine. But I never receive any emails when I setup a new user or when I click "Forgot Password" upon login. I would much prefer it if the administrator could create the account and set the password through the web interface. It doesn't make sense to have the password emailed to the user. We are evaluating the software at this point, and this is the major issue.
Timezone not correct
I'm in the US and my Application Manager time does not match my server time. I have read the DST Changes post, and my java version is 1.5.0_06 so that shouldn't be an issue. My server is set for GMT time but the Application Manager shows a time of 1 hr greater than GMT. My server platform is RHEL4. Please advise. Thanks, A. Cline

In adventnet console, when monitoring an MBean through JMX, if i watch the graph for an attribute that is from double type, the return value is always equal to 0 whereas from the Sun's JConsole i have the right value. Any idea of what should be done ? I've tried many values (counter, not-counter, and even String ;-p), but nothing to do, i can't get the right value ... and then set the threshold in an efficient way. Hi, I have created a file system monitor, watching a local file, and I have specified a "Check For Content" string. How do I configure an alert on the appearance of this string in the file? The only attributes I see for alerting are "Change in File Size" and "File Size". (I would also like to alert if the file has not been changed in the past x minutes, also.) Thank you.
ManageEngine - Aggregating monitors
I'd like view the aggregate performance of my Apache servers. I know I can associate individual monitors with a monitor group. How can I aggregate the performance statistics of a group of monitors? For example I'd like to see the total requests per minute for all of my Apache servers. mb2452

Disk Report - Percentage Used Between x and x.
While the disk reports are already very nice one addition I think that could really take them to the next level is a new column that allows one to specify a percent change between certain dates. For example, let's say I get a disk report today. It would have a column that would say "1%", "10%", etc. This would indicate the change in free space between today and yesterday (or today and seven days ago, whatever range is specified). Hi, everybody. I have recently updated my DE from 4010 to 4210. Everything's fine exept one thing: I have a cisco switch Catalyst 2970G_24T managed by DE. NBAR and Serial interfaces
Good Morning, I have just enabled NBAR on all of my interfaces. The problem is that the NBAR report is only available on the Gigabit Ethernet interface. Netflow shows that NBAR is enabled on all of the interfaces on the router ( I have one Gigabit Ethernet interface, 1 Serial interface with 4 subinterfaces). The router shows that all of the interfaces have NBAR enabled. I have restarted the Netflow service with no change. Any ideas? Thanks.

unable to see new router on dashboard NFA 5.5
Hi, i had configured a router to farward the ip cache to NFA 5.5, but i am not able to see the router on the dashboard. i am able to ping the router the ports (9996) is opened on the firewall but still i am not able to see the router on NFA dashboard, on the router serial port i had configured the ip netflow is it fine ? or only on the fastethernet i hav to configure ?
Configuration Cisco router 1800 with MSP OpManager
Hello, I downloaded the trial version (MSP OpManager) and I installed it on my WindowsXP, and I have a cisco router running in my office (1841 series), and I need to install the "probe" on my server's clients, and according to the manual, I have to connect to my IP address (central server) but my laptop (with private IP) is behind my cisco router (with the public IP) , so my question is if I have to open a port on the cisco router ? and I need to forward the data from the router to the laptop? associate requests to one another
Is there a way to associate requests to one another? For example, if you want three separate requests done during the same service visit. I thought of making custom text fields, but that seems like it would create difficulties when using these fields for reporting. Thanks!

Ordered Disk Scheduled Reporting.
I already submitted a support request for this issue, and received a reply, but figured it would be useful to the OpManager community to be aware of the issue and know that AdventNet has been informed of the issue and has assured me they are working on a fix for this problem. == When one generates a one-time all disks report in OpManager - it displays fine. Site 24x7 Integration into OpManager 6.
Compared to Site 24x7's url monitoring, OpManager 6 is primitive. What's the chance that the Site24x7 code base could be integrated into OpManager? It would be great to have this sort of functionality - including the recorder built right into OpManager, especially since Site24x7 can become prohibitively expensive if you have a large number of pages you need to check. MSSQL and SDP6 start up
My issue with MSSQL and SDP6 was down to the wrong port for SQL. I used netstat to see what port were in use and work it out from there. The port i found worked was TCP 1101. Now works like it should. :D
How to change language
I installed Netflow Analyzer with the english language but as soon as I open the website it show everything in dutch!! Is it possible to change it into English?!

Hi all In my network there are several domain , but only one of them use servicedesk, sometimes I found other domains in "Log on To" combo box that I should delete them. how can I stop domain tracking ??
Not able to see Logidal Disk Drive on Server
I can see the total disk utilization but however, not each individual drive. Is it something I need to set further? I tried the MIS Browser, it shows all the drives. Please help me. Thank you!
Checking of URL availability
Is there a document on how does OPManager check the availability of a URL? Cause in some cases, even if the URL is up... it still shows that the URL is down and when I try to test via "TEST URL" it times out; but if I manually inputted the url on the explorer it works fine. Also 1 more thing, is there a way to create a rule if the threshold is violated n times before it sends out an alarm to avoid false positive? Thanks

I configured a server to generate the alarm if threshold is violated 3 times to minimize false positive. The threshold was surely to be violated, however it's been days now and haven't receive anything but if I manually test 3 times, I receive a notification regarding the alarm. Please help. Thanks
Two instances of SD+ on the same server. Possible?
I want to know if it is possible to have two instances of SD+ on the same server and have them act as different systems. The reasoning behind this is because we have another department in this company that would like to use the service desk product and we don't want them in our database. Is it possible to put service desk on a server twice? If not, is it possible for the same service desk to use two different databases? We are willing to buy extra licenses to accomidate this if it is possible. Thanks!

NFA not using the timestamp fields
I'm developing an implementation of Netflow in a switch. Anyway I'm using Netflow Analyzer to "validate" my work and check if my netflow export packets are correctly formed. Everything works just fine, but I have the impression that Netflow Analyzer ignores the timestamp fields of my packets. Let's take an example: Imagine a continuous flow starting at 00:00. Hi, I have a group called Support, where i have 3 techs assigned to it. Also I have that the 3 techs are notified when a request is added to the group, and 1 of them notified if the request is left unpicked for more than 1 day. Then I have a business rule, that the condition is that when the category is "Other", the request is added to the Support group. A new request is entered with the category "Other". The business rule works, because i can see loggin as 1 of the techs, that the request has Support

"Server38" is server name but it is internal name. How can I change it to "www.test.com" for example.
Customize Alert Messages
Can I customize the Alert Messages with a specific subject? Currently the subject is a default "Alert from EventLog Analyzer". It would help us to identify from all these messages we get.
