NetOps Manager as a services
Is there a documented method to run the netop manager process as a service under linux without having to hack up a pre-existing script in /etc/init.d? What do others do for startup? Custom Report
I am trying to set up a custom report to provide to a client. I'd like to generate a report which includes total traffic on a set of switch VLAN interfaces (Cisco 4509). Unfortunately, it seems the custom report wizard will only allow me to select a single interface - also, the list of interfaces is not complete. We are running build 6002 of the MSP version and I am generating reports from the central server.
URL Service Availability
We have a lot of URL we want to monitor using OPManager, however the front page of the site doesn't really indicate the availability of the service. We still need to do a logon to check if the service is up. Can this be supported somehow? This feature will be more helpful to check the service itself. Thanks
Execute program to lauch script
All, I have created a shell c# .net program executable to launch a number of different (6) VBS scripts. I would like to have a way to monitor the results of each of these scripts and sometimes perform some kind of system action based on the results. What is the best approach to record my results and how can I configure my alerts base on the results I receive from my scripts.
Opmanager on server hosting MSSQL and IIS
Hello I was just wondering if this would work. If I had a server with MSSQL and IIS already, could I install Opmanager on the same machine seperately without impacting the existing applications? I know Opmanager uses mysql, so that should not affect MSSQL, but if I have an existing IIS server, IM wondering do I only have to specify a different port to use the 80....? Thanks

Hello I have a problem with printer hp laserjet 1022n. It cannot use the Monitor 'PrinterMarkerLifeCount'. The Monitor don't show data for the pagecount. It show 'N/A'. Monitoring memory of AIX-machines
Hello, We use telnet to monitor our AIX servers. Monitoring the CPU goes fine: we get the correct values. However, Monitoring the memory does not monitor the thing we want. Instead of monitoring the Physical Memory, it monitors the SwapMemUtilization. Is there any possibility to monitor the Physical Memory? Maybe by changing the svmon-command? TIA!
Formatting email alerts
Event log messages are losing their formatting. As a result they are very hard to read when long. Any way to preserve the formatting?

Accessing through web client?
Hello, I just installed and configured OpManager on a win 2k3 server. I can access it from the server browser, however I cannot access it from my desktop. I have tried: Using the IP and port Using the servername and port Going into the httpd.conf and setting the "Listen to IP and port" Setting up a site in IIS and tying to point it to the Login page. The webclient does work on the server itself but I cannot access it remotely. Is this by design? I cannot find anything in the knowledgebase and my

error trying to configure second interface
I've set up one router for netflow and it works great. I'm trying to set up a second router and I'm getting the error message "Cannot configure Identical Destination Address and port" - which points back to my system running Netflow Analyzer. This is a Cisco 2651XM running IOS 12.3. Does anyone know why I can't configure the second interface?

Device Availability issue's
Hello, At the today's availability from servers it always says it has been down for 1-2 min. If i check the history for today than, it sometimes shows, 5 seconds unavaiable, or 10 seconds on certain amounts of times. I know that the server hasn't been down, and reports need to be sent to our customers. If the server hasn't been down and up and running, i want to show a 100% availability and not 98,087 % availability today. Is there anyway to change the polling or such for the todays availability

Which ports to allow monitoring through firewall?
Do I just need the following ports to allow OpManager to operate to devices on the other side of a firewall?: SNMP ports 161 (for agent) and 162 (for manager). WMI ports 445 and 135. ICMP used for testing reachability. Anything missing? Thank you.
OpManager will not start
After installing OpManager, the product will work, but after system reboot, the product stops working. It loads, but immediately shuts itself down. When trying to start it manually, it does the same thing. I tried going into the services section and changing the authentication information, but that does not seem to work either. Any suggestions?
Formatting of html (rtf) replies
We are accepting html emails into servicedesk. These appear fine within the request window. However if we send a reply the original quoted email is reformatted and an additional carriage return is being entered for each existing carriage return. is there anything we can do to prevent this?

We have updated our site list to add a new location then saved. However when we try & log a call the site doesn't show up. I've logged out, shutdown I.E. & logged back in, but the site still doesn't show.

Search in Solutions not returning results
I've been using Service Desk for almost two years now and after the recent upgrade to 6003, search capabilities in Solutions do not return results. I've even tested by entering information in the new keyword field - still no results returned.
Probe Specs
Hi All, We are interested in OpmanagerMSP which looks great and the option to install for clients on evaluation is an excellent way to prove the benefits. But ... the system reqs for a probe doing this are pretty steep since initially for minimum impact we would have to pop it on an existing PC/Server. It looks as though the published sys reqs are overstated - does anyone have a "real world" view on the sys reqs please. Many thanks in advance
Changing the program/data drive from one disk to another
I have two volumes, C and E drive. The E drive has 60 GB of free space, and thats where I inteded to store the data. During installation, I forgot to change it from the default C: drive to the E: drive. Is there a way to configure those settings, or just reinstall the software, but copy the database over? I also need to do the same thing with OP manager.

Hi, I have been evaluating ManageEngine Netflow analyzer and Somin Scrutinizer NEtflow analyzer and found there is major gap in features. I think manage engine cusomers need more features than what is present now like 1. Real time statistics for Top Talkers / Top protocols / Top conversation 2. Long lived data 3. Network Map which changes their sign depends on the traffic flow 4. Alert should be generated and sent with the Top Talkers in the mail body 5. i dont think Sflow may be appreciated by many

Trouble getting log sent from Frotinet 200
I have downloaded the software and have installed it on a Windows 2003 server. I have a Fortinet 200 firewall that I am trying to get logs sent from, using build 3.0 and have the log sending on port 1514 to the FWA server which is on an internal network. Support Center Plus 6.0 - Login Details
I cannot seem to remove the "default Login Details" box from the logon page. Can you please assist me in fixing this issue. I have cleared cache/etc. Tried on IE 6, IE 7, & firefox. Requesters - can they be exported and re-imported?
We have a number of requesters (200+) that have had the format of their email changed from a.smith@ to alan.smith@. Now when each one sends an email request in it is opening up a new account for them. Can we export the requesters list (non AD) amend them and then re-import them before we get too many duplicated accounts. Also, what happens to any requests that have been created under the new address when the old requester entry is updated with the new format and the spare requester account deleted?
