Hi there, I'm testing opmanager....latest version in a windows 2003 server (on VMWare ESX). I get unwanted alarms from my HP procurve 4108 switch. Stangely enough i get errors from unmanaged ports. Any idea how this is possible? Thanks in advance, Wouter
Interaction of multiple roles with different access levels
Hi, It seems that for the groups and roles we have set up that unless you are an administrator, you can't see requests that have no group. We in particular have a role set up where people can see "all in group and assigned to them" and another which is "can see all requests". Some people are in group 1 only, and some are in both groups. How do these two roles interact? Does the first role override the second, so if a support rep has both roles applied to them, they still can only see the requests
Install Service Packs
I install the Version 6.00 of the Service Desk. After that I install the Service Pack 6003 and 6005 and now 6006. For me it is not clear I have to unistall the early Service Pack or not? They don't write anything in the Help files.

Hello, We are testing your product and are very interested however we are encountering problems. I'm importing a month of daily logfiles. The import is done localy and is not using Syslog server. I can see all my logfiles importing but the report is only showing th first 3 days of logs. Password reset and AD
Hi My question is : How does the reset password work. Does it actually reset the password for AD ? I tried to use it today but it didnt work. Also just to note that if it does reset the AD password would it be possible to add the force user to change password option. Otherwise the user has to tell me what they want the password to be changed to which defeats the purpose of security. Thanks Barb

Can the fields be wider under CONTRACT RULES? Available Assets and Maintained Assets or have them wrap? Not able to determine which office product to select as maintained under contract details. Here is a picture that may help explain.
Feature Request: Custom Fields & Business Rules
We have a custom field as a required field in our SDP installation. However, there's no way to use a business rule to modify that custom field (on say a ticket submitted via e-mail). This causes headaches when we go to close the ticket. We can't close it until we assign a value to this custom field we require. Is there a way to add custom fields to the business rules? If not, could there be soon?

We are using Appsmanager Product : Applications Manager Build Number : 7102 Service Pack : 7.0 License Type : Registered Number of Monitor(s) : 221 Named User(s) : 2 And we have a problem whereby there seems to be a mismatch between what is being shown on the "Monitors Snap shot" and "Monitors Group" information. The "Monitors Snap Shot" shows lots of items in a red status but the "Monitors Group" shows mostly green ?? Why would this be the case ? Surely there should be a corraltion between the two
windows 2000 SNMP issue
I have one 2k server that will not tell me the free or used disk space amounts via SNMP. Anyone know what might cause this? when i test the monitor it comes back as OK. It reports the Free MB as 0 though. the drive has almost 477GB of free space. i have tried the other disk monitors and they all report 0 on that drive. Other drives report back just fine!

How to default the "log on to" on authentication p
Anyone know how to force the authentication page to not include a drop down of available domains or local authentication. We have only one domain and would like to make it as brainless as possible for our users by having a static entry there or not displaying the drop down all together but still force users to authenticate against the domain.

State Changed monitor
Hi, I was wondering if OpManager has the ability to trigger alarms on state changed for switches etc? For example we have ports that are active but have nothing plugged into them. and we want it to send an alarm when something gets plugged into it. and vice versa.
Notification emails and SMS are unreadable on cellphones
Outgoing text only email messages and SMS messages are encoded as MIME with Content-Type: text/html and with Content-Transfer-Encoding:Base64. All 3 are not supported by some email-SMS gateways and create impossible to read data on cellphones. new install - want to import requestors from AD
Hello I just installed SD+ and hotfixes (30 day trial version) and am now customizing. When I try to import Requestors from AD I get the error "unknown username or wrong password given to enumerate the Workstations in the Domain". I have the correct IP for my DC, and correct username and password (I'm using my own domain credentials, and I'm part of the Domain Admins group). AD authentication is currently set to Off, and I tried it with both On and Off, same error. I have tried IP's for both my DC's
System creating multiple records for the same request
Currently the system is creating multiple records for the same request id. Please see the attached image showing a report with request id and creation times. This is causing a discrepancy between what the Request screen will show and what a report will show as it's total. For example when comparing closed requests in the Request screen and within a report using a filter of closed requests. Having our reports be inaccurate (showing more requests than actually were created) is causing huge problems
Scanned software not visible anymore
Since the last scan in the software inventory we get this screen. Restarting the service or server didn't change anything. Does anyone know how to solve this?

interface selection with notification - error
hello together, Version OPManager: 6016 during the email notification I cannot select the interface, the following error message appear: No managed interfaces/ports found for this device. the interface on the server can be selected however. do I have to still activate the interface for the notification or which the problem could be? the problem exists with all servers thank you for the answer. greets, Rico
Url Monitoring on port 8080 not working
Hi, i recently had to use the url monitor in opmanger to monitor site urls that were hosted in jboss and listening in port 8080. I am getting an error "The URL http://XX.XX.XX.XX:8080 is down, Reason : Connection time out". PS:- The ip has been masked for security reasons. The url monitor workd fine with the websites hosted in apache listening at port 80 on the same server. I think its because of the change in the port that the monitoring is failing. Can anyone help me get around this issue. Thanks

transfer to another system
Hi , I've trialed this software on my laptop and if we go ahead and purchase I'd be looking to transfer it to a server. Is it possible to transfer the database i.e all the approved devices in rogue detection etc, to another system or will I have to start from scratch again on a new machine?

I am observing logs from an external ip towards the destination----224.0.0.1 over port no. 2 now how can i know which subnet it is intended towards. Also what are the mitigating strategies on checkpoint firewall that i can use to block this traffic explicitly?
Hardware Inventory = null
When viewing a server, for example, I click on the "Hardware Inventory" link on the right in the "Device Info" box and it comes up as "null". Does anyone have troubleshooting tips regarding this matter? FYI AdventNet - When using the "Windows Users List" and "Windows Groups List" in IE7, the frame that surrounds the tree-list does not automatically grow shrink when the trees are expanded and collapsed, which always hides the very information one is after. Event Monitoring missing most events!
Hi There, I have had op manager running for about a month now, monitoring six servers. So far i really like the product, but i'm getting really inconsistant results monitoring the windows event logs. Essentially opmanager just seems to MISS a lot of the errors or warnings in the application log and system logs on the servers it's monitoring. Reports show multiple entries for same device
Hi, We have 80+ servers defined in OPManager. When I look at the devices, it shows all of the servers - each one time. When running a report, it may show the same device multiple times. For example, in CPU Utilization, server 509 shows two entries: Min Max Avg 509 1% 97% 52% 509 1% 77% 2% This may be a "canned" report or a custom report. Most of the time, the averages are a couple of points apart, but sometimes it is like the example above. What am I missing? Thanks,

On some of the other charts you can click on "7" or "30" to see historical data, but you don't have that option on the graphs created using Windows Performance Monitor. Maintaining Database
any guide to maintaining the op manager database? is it possible that when the database gets too full the software will hang. the op manager im using seems to be having that problem. it will hang after a period of time(weeks or months), im using it in the office to monitor the network. the concern maybe that the database is too full and the software hangs. sorry if its absurd or way off.
Stuck Alerts
I made a mistake and removed thresholds for a couple of active alerts. Now I can't clear the alerts. I tried putting the thresholds and clearing again, but no luck. I am getting this error: [Exception in:/webclient/common/jsp/TabComponent.jsp] null Failed to perform the operations for the following objects. Failure Object Reasons 1 10000834_1101 false 2 10000401_1101 false I'm guessing the alerts are stranded in the database, is there an easy way to remove them?
