Cisco VPN Concentrator - lack of log data
I am evaluating FA4 build 4030 and have a strange issue. My Cisco 3005 VPN Concentrator has been configured as specified (Syslog server address, port specified to match the syslog server on FA4, Severities 1-5 being sent to Syslog). However the only events that seem to get noticed/reported on in FA4 in my login to the VPN Concentrator console/gui. No other IPSEC/VPN communication gets logged. JMX Application monitoring different JDNI names for 1 host?
We have many different JNDI names for 1 host but we can't make different JMX Application monitor's? How can we make this possible. JNDI name can be for TEST1 host: /product/app1 /product/app2 but everytime we try this only /product/app1 is made and the settings of /product/app2 are not made?

Report fails when new columns are selected in 6008
I create a new column/field in Request form but when I select this new column on Report generation setup it would cause the report to fail and come back with: "Failure: Report can be generated" or something like that... It would work ok if I don't select the new column. Please help...we need this column to appear on the report.
Technical Support
On build 7310 of the Application Manager program: I have set up a server monitor using WMI to a windows 2003 server. It is not collecting CPU utilization data. It is collecting Memory and disk utilization, and the event log monitoring is working. The only thing that seems to not be working is the CPU data. I have tried deleting the monitor and recreating it with the same result. I have created 4 other WMI Server monitors with the same username and password that work fine. If I create it as an SNMP
12 Hour Time and problems with 6008
I upgrade to 6008 to get 12 hour time instead of 24 hour time. My requests now use 12 hour time which is great, but my reports still have 24 hour time. I need to get my reports into 12 hour time. Also once I upgraded to 6008 I no longer have the option to do time spent reports by tech or summary reports by tech. Where did that option go?
Base operating systems in inventory and scanned software
Am I missing something here. If one looks at each workstation/server the workstation TAB shows the base operating system, however if you look at scanned software or the software tab of that workstation this is not shown. This makes it difficult to evaluate the number of devices for each OS. Damian

Hi, we are an AdventNet reseller in Saudi Arabia. I have a customer that has a problem scanning his workstation , all workstations not scanned and I got error related to DECOM . Scanning fails SD+
An annoying issue has reared it's head after installing latest updates, or appears that way. Originally we had successful scanned all workstations bar a few Vista machines, so for the reason to update. Now we are getting an error "either access denied for the user or the remote dcom option might be disabled" after scheduled and manual scans. security timeout?
now that we have registered the software, everytime i login, look around a bit, then click on Admin tab... i have to re-login. This morning was the worst, everytime i clicked on Asset details (from service desk plus) it would ask me to re-login. very annoying... can i turn this up to say... 10 minute timeout?
Will 7 beta be upgradable when 7 final is out?
Hi, We have purchased a new server for the purpose of installing OpManager 7 and configuring all devices as best as possible with the beta version. I will need to move OpManager on another server in the near future. While attempting to run the BackupDB.bat I receive the following error: Please wait ! Centralizing Apache, MySQL Instances?
Am I incorrect about this or is there a separate Apache instance for each software application you have installed from AdventNet? For example, does OpUtils, ServiceDesk, and OpManager each run their own Apache instance? If so, why? Why not make it so that they centralize together. What about databases, why not better integration? Still separate databases, but one instance of MySQL instead of multiple?
Failed to establish connection with web server - Debian Etch
Hi, after the installation of OpManager 7 on Linux (Debian Etch 4.0) I get the following error while starting the service: Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager. I did a quick check on the logs and I can't see anything at fault because of missing libraries or packages (as it is the case in many other posts about this topic on the forum). So neither the logs/ folder nor the apache/logs folder revealed anything interesting.

Sending Alerts to SMS

E-mail tags that define supportrep and other variables

I was just wondering wether or not it is possible to write some kind of tags in an incoming e-mail that defines what supportrep that is supposed to recieve the e-mail, and other information like what type of request it is, maybe phone-numbers and e-mailadresses and so on so that all the fields in the request fills out automatically based on the text in the e-mail. Requests missing after upgrade
Hi, I have performed an upgrade of Service Desk today from build 5505 to 6008. I carrried out a phased upgrade and performed full backups between each. The data is intact and no problems encountered, however.... We want to move Service Desk to another server, so I installed the latest version (Build 6008) on to a different box. I am a new admin to SDP and would like some help in creating a custom report. I would like a report that will tell me the turnaround time for every job per tech. I would like it to give me the following items for each request. Tech name, Date created, Date executed, date closed. Then I would like it to provide me with the time elapsed between date created and date closed. If possible I would like it to only count work days not holidays and weekends. This will allow me to track our turn around time
Scan Failure's
When i try to scan a laptops i get this message: FAILURE :No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched off or does not exist. I have disabled the firewall on it and can connect to it using "wmimgmt.msc". I have tried to scan using the network scanner using the computer name and local admin username and passy. If i use the IP address it shows an already scanned laptops . It does work if i change the IP to something that hasn't been scanned in, but not using the
Enumerating Organizational Units in Domain - Problem
I have just upgraded to version 6008. Now, I'm no longer able to enumerate my OUs. When I launch the wizard it says "Enumerating Organizational Units in Domain" and it sits there forever. I upgraded from 6003 to 6008 and creating a new report comes back with "Failure: Unable to create report". I can open my old reports but not any new reports.

New Purchase as an Asset or Workstation Option
REQUEST: On new purchases, we must have the ability to select wether the new items will be classified and entered as either an ASSET or a WORKSTATION. ISSUE: Currently any new purchase that is made and approved will add Items into the ASSET table. There is no choice. For example, if a purchase is for a new workstation, then it forces adds all purchased workstations into the ASSETS table.Thus you end up having to enter workstations and their information into the ASSETS table as well as the WORKSTATIONS
