Turn off host discover
Hello, We have a host running two apache and every one listening each different IP. When i tried to add the second apache it also add a host monitor, so we have two host monitors looking the same server. When i delete this second host monitor, apache monitor just dissapears. Is there a way to add a application monitor without add the host? Thanks. Jaume Tru��
Today something really strange happened
Hello Today i tried to get my Utilization-Graphs for my switches working in OpManager Build 7021. I did run the RepairDB.bat as OpManager still was running as Service. After it finished succesfully i stopped OpManager and started RepairDB.bat again. After that i rebooted the Server (Windows 2003 Standard Edition). After the reboot i couldnt connect to the server via Remote Desktop whats really strange because i didnt even touch Windows itself. So i had to work over the VIX Console because OpManager
User don't stay logged in
I've made a fresh install of the SDP7 and I`m gettin the follow: When I log from a machine in the network and try to access any link, I get redirected to the login page, so I log in again and the destination opens... It occours in all parts of the program... I tried to clean the IE cache, etc... But still the same... When I use it directly from the machine it is installed this issue doesn`t occours... I`m trying the SDP7 and this issue is getting me crazy.... :lol: Thanks in advance,

AD login issues for Helpdesk
We are having an issue with our Helpdesk install, the AD server it was pointing to has blown up (It was a non critical machine and was there as a backup to our site AD server). None of our users and our admins can login, how can I repoint the AD links without being able to login, is there a script or db entry we can amend? Kind Regards Chris Smith

I am considering replacing my Track-It! software with something like ServiceDesk, LANDesk or Altiris. From the number of support issues it seems that SD has a great deal of bugs. What is the current user verdict?
What happened to the Request Types?
I am running SD+ v7.0.0 build 7005 and within the Admin area there are Request Types defined. However, when I create a request there is no field on the form for me to specify the request type. I have double checked all of the obvious places, but can't see one anywhere or any setting to enable/disable it. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks Jonathan
Request template information into tasks
I'm testing version 7 of SD+ and trying to create request templates. I have modified the standard new joinee template that is on there by default. I populate the description with the new user details, when the tasks are created, none of this information is populated in the task, ie create AD entry is the blank standard task template from the new joinee template. am I missing something ? I would assume that the call created with the information in the description would auto populate into the task
AD Manager Hangs when exporting 6100 User objects from AD
Hi, I'm running AD Manager Plus the latest version. When I try to export a all user report to excel which is about 6100 objects, AD manager just hangs. Is there a way that I can fix it. Regards, Ruaan
Cannot update threshold twice
I'm having some problems changing thresholds that I have previously updated. For example, if I set the cpu threshold to: > 80 Rearm 70 click ok and it saves fine, but then if I decide later I want to change it to something else such as >70 Rearm 60 I click ok and the same old values are still there. I have done repairdb.bat. The only way it lets me change a previously entered value is if I restart opmamanger or the opmamanger service.

Hello! There is box where OpManager is runing. IP adress of the box has been changed and OpManager won't restore monitoring. Is there way to resume monitoring with new IP adress? I wouldn't like to install OpManager anew and configurate it every time IP address is changed. The Alert looks like: Source Alarm Message Status Technician Category Date / Time 172.24.1.166 OpManager has detected that it has lost network connectivity and has suspended all monitoring. Monitoring will be automatically resumed
How to Schedule a Custom Report for Delivery via eMail?
Hi all, we have several VoIP-Servers running in our environment. We created a Device Template for that servers to recieve Information aout total Number of Calls a day and so on. Now i need to be able to schedule a report that shows us the Total Number of Calls, The number of internal and external calls and so on. The report needs to be send daily as an eMail to several people working here. I found no way to schedule a custom report. Only the Top-N Reports and the availability reports can be scheduled????

Direct mysql query of opmanager data
Hi, I'm looking to perform a number of queries with a scripted monitor in AppManager to poll summary data from OpManager. The underlying database seems to be a real mess, and I am struggling to see where the actual group availability data is. I want to start by polling the availability of each of the groups in the infrasttucture snapshot... can anyone tell me the table where the good stuff lives? i've waded though schema's and mysqldump's for clues, but i'm still blind really... any help appreciated

Software quits working after license expiration?
We purchased ELA quite some time ago, probably July 2006. The license expired sometime in the last few months anyway. Now the software won't even bring up a login page, let alone do what we paid for it to do. Are you telling me that the software quits working when the license file expires? Why was the license described as being for "updates and maintenance" only then? It's not legal for you to disable the software due to an expired "updates and maintenance" license.
Database customization
We would like to auto-enroll all of our AD users using their social security number and employee id as their verification questions. We could do this pretty easily if we could customize the database connection to use an existing mysql instance. Is there a way to do this?
SMS on Opman
Hi there, Has anyone used the SMS feature on Opman? Im trying to get it working with a few different mobiles. The supported mobiles listed include the motorola v3 yet the documentation says it only supports sms via serial cable. The v3 only has a usb cable (which supports a usb serial port). I have a v3x which is the slightly upgraded model but i cant get it to work. Ive also tried a motorola L2. These all use basically the same function set and should work fine. Business Rules actions should override any Request Defaults
It is my opinion Business Rules actions should override any Request Defaults rather than the other way around. Setting a default field value in build 7002 completely cancels out the ability to define exceptions for that field based on business rules. Not only would it provide much better Rules flexibility, but it makes more sense given the general definition of what "default" means. Thanks for considering.
backup script does not start service after backup

More search options for customers
Customers should be able to search in their own requests. Not only in the Solutions but also in the Request discussion body and in the notes. Search on keywords. Could be with a dropdown menu like the supp reps have: Solutions,Requests,Notes.

I have created an IT asset called monitor and imported a load of monitor assets in to it. The only way I can see to attach them to a computer or user is with add relationship. Is this correct? Generate Specific time report
Dear Support, I have configured my report profile to be mailed to me daily. It works fine but the pdf report always from 00.00.00 until 23.59.59. I have tried to configure generate report for previous day from 09.00 until 17.00 on "Select Report Type and Schedule", but still the report shown from 00.00.00 until 23.59.59. Accidently load lots of Software Licenses
I somehow incorrectly entered a software license that had a quantity of 54426 records. The software License portion of Service Desk becam unresponsive. I went into the database directly and delte the records in the SoftwareLicenses table. The Software license portion is still really slow. What did I miss?
Language issue
Hello again.. I have a 2003/sql2005/7005 ML Enterprise config.. In this configuration ML seems to work excellent. There are some small issues with the language translation to Norwegian though.. Is there any way we can adjust this ourselves or maybe participate in the translation work? The "Edit request" button contains the Norwegian character �.. It translates to some rubbish.. Auto-discovery?
I notice that Workstations are a category within the program, so I wished to experiment with whether it's worth adding workstation machines into the program. However, I cannot see any auto-discovery function, everything must be discovered manually, so perhaps that group is only for the very special workstations which merit a static IP for whatever reason? :)

Hi, I discovered today a problem with reports : If you create a new category (infrastructure snapshot) and that you would like to get report form this category, you have no option to select this category to build reports. For example we have 200 devices (servers), I created fewe new infrastructure categories but now I cannot get any reports and I don't want to have a global report to do some manually Is it possible to get from reports exactly same reports in same ways that business view but for infrastructure
