Email alerts for managed servers (Enterprise)
We have five managed servers running in Enterprise edition, and I need to configure email alerting should one of these serves fail. I've read the manual and each managed server has the option set for 'E-mail me when status of this server is down' in the managed server Edit properties dialog. This in turn uses the Admin Email settings, BUT that only allows you to specify a mail server, not a recipient for the email. How can I determine who gets the alert? Question about stats
Hello all, I am new here, but since I do a lot of traffic analysis, l I figured I would join and ask some questions. When I look at the statistics in Netflow, I have issues making some sense out of it. For example, when I do an hourly report on a T1 interface for a remote site, I have 80% of total traffic being WEB, IN. I find this by looking at the application TAB. HTP is the top INCOMING application utilizing the interface. But when I go to the NBAR tab to see the NBAR results, it shows that htp
CI removing themselves
Think there might be a slight issue / bug? My items are disappearing. Was there earlier this morning, just happened to have another look as I was matching them to my visio diagrams. I thought it strange at first thinking maybe I must have missed it. Few moments ago whilst adding missing CI's and checking which needed to be added via the tree view only to notice chunks are deleting themselves. Is there a limit to how many CI's can be added? BTW the tree view needs to be fix, I can hardly see anything
URL and service monitors
Hello, Upgraded from OpManager 6 to 7 last week and it looks like all data has been carried over successfully. However, on more then one occasion OpManaer begins to falsely report that services and URL's are down when they are not. Usually restating the OpManager service fixes these alarms quickly, but I'd appreciate some insight into how to troubleshoot the problem. Could it be a database issue? I've run repairdb.bat multiple times. Regards, -- kyle

Is it possible to report the free disk space as a percentage, rather than an amount in GB?
Custom Report throws Error.
I am attempting to create a custom ServiceDesk Report. I do the following: 1. Custom Report. 2. Tabular Reports. 3. TimeSpent. And then receive this message: "FAILURE :Unable to execute report : java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation, message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '327))' at line 1"" Why?
Customize - Are there any new skins or tools to skin with.
First I want to say, Great product! You have done a super job targeting our needs as far as functionality. I would like to customize my servicedesk. I have purchase this for my company and have added our logo. But I would like to change the the default icon, link name(AdventNet ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus) to [our company] Helpdesk along with some mild (color) cosmetic changes to the UI. Purchase Order Printing Error
ServiceDesk Plus Professional (Trial) 7.0.0 Build 7012 When printing an approved purchase order, the Status field, which shows Approved when viewing the P.O. displays blank when printing or previewing the P.O. This kinda throws off using P.O.s because, when printed out, the assumption by the Finance Dept is that the P.O is not approved.
SLA escalations not working
I have a problem with SLA escalations. I am trying to add an escalation to email the ticket owner after 7 days of the call being outstanding. I setup a new SLA, set all the options and save it. However, when I click edit to go back into the SLA and ensure that the settings have taken, they're all empty again (and yes I am saving them). I was having this problem on 7009 so have updated to 7012 and the problem is still there. I already have an SLA that I put in on version 6 and that works. Any ideas?
How do we change the URL for Scheduled Reports?
Hi everybody, I have 1 question regarding Scheduled Reports. How can we change the URL to which we have to send the report? For example, I did a scheduled report and I requested to publish the reports and send the url alone to my email adress. But it gives a wrong URL and I would like to change with one. I went to OpManager\apache\conf\httpd.conf and tried to change the Server Name or modify the variable UseCanonicalName to 'On' and 'Off' but nothing changed. Do someone know how to configure the

Web Alert Question
When my web alert is fired by a device being down it doesn't automatically clear when the device comes back up. Is this the way it works or do I need to adjust my config?
DNS refresh
Hi guys, I read on another topic, that the DNS table from NFA doesnt use to change, and when you request a DNS name of a machines list, NFA got it from cache. I noticed that this lead sometimes to wrong reports of machine names. Is there any way to refresh the DNS table without restar the service? Cheers.
Asset problems
Our users are getting problems when trying to log a request. We would like to make our Asset field a mandatory option for the users however, we would like to have the option of the user selecting NONE. If the user selects NONE they get an error message saying that the workstationID field is incorrect (one presumes this error message relates to the Asset field even though it's seemingly labelled wrongly). Is there anyway to allow the user to select none, and more importantly is it possible to rename

Hi, Is it possible to create OUs via use of the CSV import function? I need to replicate the AD structure in one domain to a new one, and I really don't want to do it manually. Tabular Data title
Hi, I have a Novell Server, and I want to monitor the Netware volumes. I found how to get the data with the tabular Bulk monitor polling (100-(.1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.4*100/.1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.3)), however, each "Rows" are identified by .1 .2 .3 and .4. in all the displays, not quite usefull. I know that in the same table, OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.23.2.28.2.14.1.2 is the Volume name. Is there a way to specify that the "index name" of each row is the corresponding OID Value instead of .1 .2 .3
Notification Time window
It would be preferable to choose a window of office hours for the errors to be reported by email, as some of the servers and links get hammered at night due to remote backups, and the company do not wish to receive any feedback out of office hours.

Disk Space Reporting
Is there a SQL query that will enable us to extract disk storage from all our servers? We need to use this instead of using the report generation by opmanager itself since we want to make it more flexible. But if there is a way in order to export the file into excel then that would be more helpful. Thanks!
Custom WMI Monitor shows no data history
Hello, I need once again your help with a custom WMI monitor. I added a custon WMI monitor for Diskqueuelength from your support website. The monitor works fine and I can see the values if I click on "test now..." ( 0 0 0 f.ex) but OpManager doesnt record the history in the chart - always "no data available). (I configured it as a multinode) What can I do that I can see the values in the chart? Thanks in advance, Marco
Taffic monitor shows data - interface data shows traffic NA
Hi, On my Cisco router the monitors added under Traffic monitor work perfectly. But the standard section with interface data (under the Profile section) shows all traffic data as Not Available (NA) Why does this happen? greets

Unable to execute script
I am having problems with executing stored scripts. I have created a script for adding username a device the script is a s follows : conf t username XYZ privilege 3 password BLAHBLAH end This script generates a rather unusual output when executed.I have attached the report of the output. I have even tried other scripts but they produce the same output. Thanks, Kushal

With application mapping, a client that we manage IT infrastructure for has netflow deployed to monitor a router interface connected to a satellite modem which connects to a remote mine site via a point to point link and their gateway router and other network equipment. They have requested regular reports of the traffic usage of this link. Notification Sounds
Hello OpManager Gurus; We would like to have Opmanager running on a workstation in our service desk area but don't have the resources to constantly check it. Is it possible to have that workstation play a notification sound with any, or just critical, alarms? If so how do we set that up? Many thanks for your insights. :?:
Unable to populate Problem Sub Category
We had SUB CATEGORY as a required entry before a problem could be closed. I came across a CATEGORY that had no sub Categories defined, and so was unable to close the problem. So I created the Sub Categories and could raise new requests and problems with them. However any old problem won't pick up the newly created sub categories. Is this by design or something to be resolved, and if by design Why? Regards, Andy
Viewing technician properties causes CPU to hit 100%.
Just as the subject says. The spike will usually stay at 100% until the Java process dies. I then have to reboot the server to access the site as starting the ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus service fails. Version: 7.0.0 Build: 7004

Managing Char Interfaces
Hi I'm configuring a new device (MIRV LX-4000 console server) in OpManager. It has 2 ethernet interfaces and 42 serial ports. I want to manage these serial interfaces with OpManager (the status can be polled via SNMP under the iso->org->dod-> internet->mgmt->mib-2->char branch), but I don't know how to do this. It would be nice to see this interfaces in interfaces tab (as the ethernets) or in a table. Any idea? Thanks in advance. Regards, Andres

Hi, I want the requester to be notified by email when he creates a new change. In notification rules, I am trying to enable: "Alert the following Technicians by Email when a new change is created" and I select "$Ticket owner", but I receive the following error: sdp.admin.changenotification.techchoose.newchange.js I attached a print screen of it.
