Asset scan - User field
I have run an asset scan against a group of PCs. For most of them amongst the information collected is the 'USER'. Some of the the PCs do not collect this information. What exactly is being interrogated on the lcoal PC to populate this field ?
How do I add a mib to Net-SNMP in linux?
I have run out of google searches to try. I have the dell-poweredge mib. I have placed it into /usr/share/snmp/mibs. Then export MIBS=+ALL Try to get any value in the ".1.3.6.1.4.1.674" range, I get a "Request failed or timed out. No error" from OpManager, or nothing from the snmpget at a command line. Any ideas?
General Failure
We are having issues scanning a single Server. It is Server 2000. I get error message " FAILURE :General failure while performing the operation." I have attached the system log. Please help
report on failed scans
We have a scheduled scan to run everyday at 11am. Is there a way to run a report that shows me what PC's failed to be scanned?
Domain List
I just wanted to know if there is any way of excluding domains from showing up in the list.. Basically we have a domain list of 15 domains. I can manually delete them so they dont show on the domain list upon initial logon but they re-appear at a later stage. Is it possible to have our chosen domain only to be there and no other domains. Best way to add unreacheable devices ?
Hi ! I want to monitor multiple WinXP worktstations which will send SNMP Traps, but I won't do any polling of the device. Situation is : There is a varying number of workstation in a DHCP range say 300 desktop in the 192.168.10.50 to 192.168.11.249 range. In opmanager, if the device (IP) is not created, the Trap is dropped (They dont even show in Unsollicited Traps) So I must create each possible IP in my Desktop category, Wich wont be polled, but the SNMP trap will be received. I have setup Servicedesk on Windows 2008 and it appears to be functioning correctly. I searched the forums to ascertain whether or not it was in fact supported on this platform but I did not see any mention. My question is, will Servicedesk function fully on 2008? Hi, We have set escalation based on different rules. Today we have a Windows service stopped due to a bug in application. We don't want to remove the monitoring of this service, we have acknowledeg the alarm and in my understanding the escalation should not be sent as alarm is acknowledged that it means that we are aware with this issue. i want to add reason for updating request in reports
When i take a report of the number of requests for the month, I also want to add reaon field. the last update that was done on the 'request for updating request' text field to be picked up and shown on the report as well, is it possible, from which table and which column is this field.??
NFA service stopped
Hi all, Could u explain to me, why my NFA Server sometime can't works ? I've tried to scan the server port, and the server is able to accept the udp 9996 (netflow packet), but the web graph can't view the managed devices. And, after i restarted the ManageEngine Netflow Analyzer 5 Service, the server are back to normal. I'm using Netflow Version 5.5.0 and Build Number :5502.
NBAR not working
Hello I am in the process of evaluating Netflow Analyzer and cannot get NBAR to work. I have two routers 3640 and 1760 and both support NBAR. I checked both cisco site and run the command "show snmp mib | include cnpd" and received an output as shown in previous examples. I enabled NBAR on an interface and configured SNMP, but still Netflow analyzer says unknown when trying to enable NBAR. I have been playing around with the asset management aspect. We have a number of differnet P&L centres (companies) within the group and I want to be able to assign assets (hardware and software) to these units. Im struggling to see how I can then view or report on these subsets of information either through the asset interface itself or by running existing or custom reports. Inconsistent DNS setting
Running NFA 7 beta. I have DNS set to resolve as default. This works in most reports I have seen. An exception is the "consolidated" reports. These default to IP setting with option to resolve DNS. This is an issue when scheduling a consolidated report -- I want to see resolved IPs. Could you please change the consolidated reports to be consistent with the global DNS setting? And anywhere else there may be an inconsistency of the setting behavior? Thanks.

Custom Time Frame
Is there any way to get Inbound/Outbound, sent/received traffic reports (by IP) for a user specified time frame? Currently all that's available is to get this information since midnight of the current day. I'd like to view this information for the past 5 mins or 15 mins, or hour.
Add Notes To Assets
I would like to be able to add notes to assets to tack localised information. The same feature available in Requests and Problems.
Asset Scanning
It would be useful to have the ability when doing a network or domain scan, to ommit certain assets from the scan. For example assets which you don't want listed on SDP, or in our case in particular where the scan causes the computer to crash.

Every time I log into the Applications Manger server I see a stop error. I was curious how some of you associate these items. Do you enter in cubicle and office numbers as departments and associate that way? Hello, At our IT Service Desk, we have spotted a rather silly issue with the button/option layout. Why is "Add Work log" option button located with the work log records, when the "Add Note" option button isn't located with the notes records. At the same time, why is "Add Note" available from the actions menu, but not "Add Work log"? Surely common sense dictates you have the selections available in BOTH sections of SDP, or both selections in once section. (Bit of a tongue twister). I vote that both

report folders disappear off left Reports Folders menu
2 Report Folders I created appear just fine in the main list of All Reports. But they do NOT appear in the REPORT FOLDERS left side menu. All other folders do appear there. BUT when I edit a report within one of the 2 folders that don't appear at left, then SAVE REPORT it to one of those folders that do NOT appear, all folders including the missing 2 DO appear in the left REPORTS FOLDERS menu, and it highlights the report's folder at left as it should. Sequence required to add Cisco devices
When adding new Cisco switches to OpManager I have noticed the following: If you add the device IP address to OpManager before you configure the SNMP settings on the switch, OpManager will constantly report alarms for various interfaces (even if you have turned status polling off on those interfaces) even after adding the SNMP settings to the switch. adding notes to closed requests
Hi I've been getting used to this product for the last week. One of the things I have noticed is that a user can add a note to a closed request via the web interface. However when a technician is looking at the list of requests I cannot see anywhere that flags that the request has been updated? Am I missing something? Tim
letting all users (or groups of users) read certain requests
Is it possible to configure ServiceDeskPlus so that requests are viewable by more than just the submitting user? In our case, the QA deparment sends requests to update certain files to the sysadmins via SD (version 6.0.0). The entire department needs to know when this is complete, but as we're currently configured, only the QA engineer who requested the update is notified. Are we missing something? Demo website empty
Hello. The data in the demo website (demo.fwanalyzer.com) is empty. We can't correctly test the application without data in it :-( I tried it time ago and it had data. Maybe there's any problem, or has someone deleted everything? Thanks.
Strange behaviour with Opmanager Catagories
Hello, I have 6 domain controllers 3 are correctly identified and 3 got added to the "firewalls" catagory (all 6 are identical). When I try to move them from "Firewalls" or do any activity with them I get the following error message "Status Message Unable to fetch Managed Object details for the object : chpdc01.cofunds.co.uk" I am using using Opmanager Build 7102. I cant even delete them !! Scott.
Serious Security Flaw
Yesterday, one of my technical support analysts uncovered a serious security flaw in ServiceDesk Plus. He initiated a scan of a new workstation and configured the scan using the global credentials that are configured for scheduled scans. As expected the username and password fields were populated. At this point he decided to view the source code of the page and was able to read the password in plain text!! Unable to find "IIS W3C Web Server Logs" Import Lo
Dear Members, I was wondering whether you have similar issues in the past. We made attempts to import IIS log files from our web server and it looks like it is working (i.e. From Home tab > Applications sub Tab) I am able to see the link for Application Type �IIS W3C Web Server Logs� (as shown in Application_IIS W3C Web Server Logs.JPG). I would like to review the configuration for this IIS Web log profile however when I go to Settings tab > Imported Log Files, all I can see is �MSSQL Server Logs�
Too much text in subject - can't access resolution
Good day, I found out in my SD+ 7 build 7015 that when a user send a request through e-mail without entering any information in the e-mail subject, the first line of the e-mail body gets added automatically in the subject line. When that happens, I can't access the resolution tab of the request, it just won't do anything.
