How can I enable telnet access for equipment that does not need a username, only the password?
Debugging custom SNMP monitor
I am re-doing the device template for our Powerware UPS, as it does not work with our model (PW9315). I have all of the correct OIDs mapped out, and I can use the MIB browser to query each value and get the correct result. However, when I add these exact same OIDs to the device template, they do not work. Missing some local drive utilization stats
We've had an issue that's been affecting a few of our Windows 2k3 servers for a while now. It wasn't a major issue, so I was hoping the upgrade from 7 to 8 might resolve the issue, but we upgraded a few days ago and the problem is still present. We have 4 particular servers with normal C:\ drives for the OS and a rather large E:\ for data. On 1 of the 4 servers, we can see drive utilization for both the C: and E: drives. On the other 3, we only see the C: statistics. I have tried removing and re-adding

Sending reports to Excel, PDF or Email shows wrong data
Hi Support, After upgrading to Opmanger 8, when i go to Reports and run Device Availability report, it shows me the correct information, but when i try export that information to Excel, pdf or email, it sends me the incorrect data. For example, i ran a custom device availability report for the first week of feb 09, then when trying to send it to excel or pdf instead of sending me the custom data it sent me the default data of the past 24 hours which it shows automatically when first initially clicking
Juniper M7i Device Template
Does anyone have a *working* Juniper M7i device template for OpManager 8? The out-of-the-box template does not work at all -- the OID appears to be wrong, and I get all sorts of errors such as: Data not collected for JuniperTemperature:There is no such object in this MIB. Data not collected for JuniperMemoryutilization:There is no such object in this MIB. We are running JunOS 8.4.x. Also, I can't seem to figure out where it is pulling these specific monitors -- that is, I don't see a "Juniper MIB"
Windows vista Interactive service detection dialogue
Every time I open and log on to windows a screen pops up comes for interactive service detection dialogue. I click to show the message and then it will open to install some language [different each time] as I don't want those I click cancel, and the dialogue shows as no more attention required. See attached file. But every few minutes its poing up and may be different langaugae. This is happening for last 2-3 wks. I even tried to restore system to an old date. We have Cisco 6509 which is "default gateway" for a lot of VLANs, so it is a ROUTER for VLANs, but it also has lots of ports which is used as simple l2-SWITCH. On the "network view" all the VLANs of this switch are separate. Is there any way to "say" to OpManager, that all this VLANs are interconnected? Is there any way to set multiple IPs for ONE device?
Opmanager Device icons set to default in "switch"
Hi I have different icons defined in the device template for a given device. If I add the device to the "switch" category a default icon is displayed. If i create a new category and import from the "switch" category the correct icon is displayed. Import them back to the switch category the default is displayed. Can the default "switch" category be modified to ensure the device template icon is displayed? regards Noel

Netflow Analyzer Corrupt?
I have been using netflow analyzer for about 1 1/2 years now without a problem. Just recently I have not seen my reports. I cannot open the URL. I cannot open the application directly on the server nor can I start the service. I contacted support who instructed me to run LogZipUtil.bat. I have done this and it sits at an error. As well I cannot find the output to send to support. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Alert - Batch File
Hi, I configured an alert that calls a batch script. This batch script unlocks a certain AD user's account and restarts a certain service on a remote machine. The script works perfectly from DOS prompt, as well as from the GUI, but the Alert doesn't seem to be calling the script. The alert is also set to send an email out, which works perfectly. ADSelfService does not recognize Thai language login name.
I install ADSelfService Plus 4.3 on Windows Server 2008. I can change passwords for English login names. But when I try changing passwords for Thai language (Unicode) login names, ADSelfService Plus 4.3 cannot find the account in Active Directory. No name appeared in the log file. Please help.

No Values in Log a ticket
Hello I've got a problem with the notification profile. After the successful connection test between Opmanager and Servicedesk+ I want to create/change the ticket logging. But in the existing profile (Service-Desk-Ticketing) it's not possible to change the values. I also checked the mail-server settings, created new user accounts in OM and SD+ (admin/admin), checked in SD+ the technicians, categories and priorities for umlauts and so on and so on. Is there anybody out there who can help me with this
Business rules
Is it possible to set the Mode using a business rule? We don't see it as an option. Although most of our tickets are via email, we have a custom form that includes "original mode of contact" with some options. I'd like to use a business rule to set the mode based on that phrase in the description. If not with a rule, any suggestions? Could this be added as an enhancement request? Seems like you should be able to set any of the fields using a business rule. Thanks.
Disk Thresholds dissappeared !!!
Just a heads up for everyone. When i upgraded to Opmanager 8, i happened to come across a problem, on all my monitored servers, in the performance monitors my Free Disk Space monitor for my drives, i had previously set threshold limit's so that if my disk space goes to low, i get alerted, well all these limits dissapered, and i had to go into every server and reset the limit's for every disk. But the performance monitor still said that the threshold was normal as if it had been set. Worthwhile checking

WMI username password failing
I have upgraded to v8 and trying to add a WIN2003 server to it, however it keeps failing. I have disabled the SNMP in the WIN2003 templates and switched to WMI per the docs with no success. Also I have even gone to the "Change password" and tried a username and password that I know works with in our domain with no luck. Does it not accept special characters? This use to work but now doesn't.
Unable to find the free disk space
In my storage settings I see: Unable to find the free disk space Please enter the free disk space (in MBytes) in the NFA installation drive. NFA will determine the maximum raw data period based on the available free disk space and current flow rate. Purchasing Process and Asset Scanning
I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to find a resolution. At the moment we use the purchasing module to control our PO system. Once the item has been received it moves from the purchasing module to the assets list and are registered as unassigned. Fine ! Integration with Opmanager?
we have the latest versions of opmanager and Service Desk. When we go to setup a notification profile in opmanager we can't select any of the info from Service Desk. What gives? it says this can be done, and looks like it's setup to do just this, but the drop downs are blank. Anyone else having a similar issue with the integration?

Setting Windows 2003 servers to log invalid attempts
I've noticed that under the PCI report, there is only a single sever that shows up for Report on logon failures. I was wondering how to configure my servers so that they also log logon failures for PCI compliance. Audit Policy Changes and Reports on audit log changes are also similarly blank, and I would like to understand how to configure systems to log these as well. Any help would be great, thanks!
SQL monitors all show N/A
Hi, one of my SQL servers, shows nothing but N/A on all the MSSQL monitors. The credential test passed for both CLI and WMI, and all the other monitors work fine.
Company Logo Problems
so I imported a .png image at the highest (120px X 40px) and in the organizational detail page it looks great but when i view a PO the image is distorted. when checking the image properties the dimensions are 125x41? i haven't tried importing an image with 125x41 and see if that makes a difference. will try that and post findings
