I noticed that when a request is deleted, any files or images that were attached to the request are still located in \ServiceDesk\fileAttachments\Request. Shouldn't these files be deleted along with the request?
Changed domain - how to update all monitors?
Due to some PDC problems we had to switch to a new domain - now most of our monitors aren't active (since they're referred to by the old domain name). How can I bulk update these?
Migrating to a new server
We are moving this app to a new server. Is there a way to copy the secret questions/answers from one server to another? The rest of the settings seem pretty straight forward.
Upgrading to 8.6 from build 7300
We have upgraded from build 7300 to 8.6, however we get the error in the logfiles below, and cannot see any of our monitors in the monitors tab. 30 Mar 2009 12:09:31:171 java.sql.SQLException: Syntax error or access violation message from server: "You have an error in your SQL syntax. Dear all, i've created a FTP monitor without any download/upload file. It can connect and login. But the monitor failed because "it" returns exit code 1. The FTP server is alive and i can perform manually the action from the server that is handled the AppManager application What's wrong ? Francois

Problem with Downtime scheduler
Hi! I have a problem with the downtime scheduler in OM8. According to a hardware update (I have changed some switches) I deactivated monitoring for the affected devices with the downtime scheduler. At this time all worked fine. I finished my work earlier than expected and reset the end time of the downtime scheduler to nearby now. HI I have noticed that the Total bytes Transferred is inaccurate. It is only showing about 1 % of what is actually going through the interface. Please see attached. Is their a setting that needs to be changed? Thanks

Business rules can't filter exactly

Prevent requesters changing personal information on portal
Is it possible to prevent requesters from changing any fields within the My Details tab? We had published a new field called Pritner Pin. We have populated this field with a number. We would like the users to be able to see their PIN but not make any changes to it. Is this possible?

7.5 - Product Type Server - How to migrate assets?
With 7.5 there is an inbuilt product type called Server, as there is Workstation, Printer etc. We, like others I expect, created a defined product type called Servers and have many products classified as such. Is there an easy way to migrate all our 'custom product' Servers to the new standard 'Server'. All I can see would be to list all the products and go though one by one and change. No filter on that page or ability to sort on Product Type so a slightly painfull exercise I assume. Andy

We are still working to nail down our Support Center configuration and there is one thing we cannot seem to figure out. How do we go about setting the link for the customer portal? I believe it is "$RequestLink"? Currently, the link being provided to customers is "prodsvr1:8080/sd/Request.sd." PRODSVR1 is the server name. so I guess my question is where in the configuration can we specify the link being sent to the customer? Thanks, -Margie

Switch Port Mapper Works in Oputils 5, but not in OpManager
When we purchased OpManager, it was with the understanding that it comes with switch port mapping capabilities. Having contacted support previously, we were told that although OpManager does not support mapping of 3Com switches now, it will in the future. We have now moved to OpManager 8 and are still unable to map switch ports. We've also tried the switch port mapping in OpUtils 5 which maps the ports without issue (please refer to the screenshots included). When can we expect this feature to function?

I don't want to give users admin access to Schedule Downtime and perhaps I have overlooked this option anywhere: How is it possible to allow certain users/operators to add/schedule downtime? Or - how can I create an administrator account with restricted privileges.

MAPI Support Request
I've searched the ServiceDesk Plus forums, and have seen lots of requests for MAPI support as we, like others, have been told POP3 and IMAP simply are not supported due to our company's global policies. Has an add-on/plug-in been released for ServiceDesk which allows it to connect to change as a MAPI client? I noticed one forum post mentioned late 2007 or early 2008 for this inclusion. Hi, Is there an Oracle monitor in opmanager? IT says so on your homepage - do you refer to the windows service or what? I cannot find any other. Automatic mail reply icon colors change to different color?
Hello, There a way to change the default mail icon colors for automatic replies ? New in handling OPManager
Hi to All, Its my first time using OPManager and i badly need your help. So here it goes... Device templates were already configured for the different kind of servers (Windows, Unix, Linux), so all i need to do is go to Admin menu then click Add Device menu and input the ip address. Upon viewing the added device there are nothing to be monitored which should not be the case since there were already templates created. What should I do/check? Can you also send me other sites where I can learn more
TCP Service Monitor Default Timeout
What is the default timeout for TCP Service monitors before OpManager determines that a Service is down ? I'm not referring to the Threshold Alert Response time that can be set in the "Edit Monitor" dialog, but rather the time OpManager will wait for the tcp connection to setup before it marks the tcp service as down (assuming the user did not setup a Threshold Alert). thanks, Greg
IE 8 support
I'm having considerable issues getting OpManager to work with IE 8. I can't get past the logon screen, it just sits there spinning whereas with IE 7.. works no problem. I enter the userid and password, hit "Login".. and nothing happens.

IP address and device name
Hello Everyone, My problem is i dont how to detect the device names automatically, because some of my devices are discover as IP Address and some are by their Device names. I dont know how to detect them by names automatically. I have my snmp enabled and rediscover them, but still the same. Please help me with this problem.
