Hi, Is it possible to rename the device expert devices into their hostnames so that it would be easier to identify rather than their IP address.
When is 7509 scheduled for release?
I'm currently running 7506. I would upgrade to 7508 but I was told 7509 would address a specific issue I'm experiencing. Since I have to rebuild my custom login screen every time I upgrade, I'd rather just wait for 7509 and upgrade once. When can I expect 7509? Thanks- Marc

File / Directory Monitor - lack of file?
I'd like to verify that a folder is missing a specific file - if so, the monitor is successful. From what I can tell, the File/Directory Monitor looks for the existence of a file. Do I have to use a script for this?
No live reports
I'm existing customer of servicedesk and I'm trialling firewall analyzer and having an issue where I am not getting any live stats. I'm generating syslogs from a watchguard 10 firebox.

How do you calculate the dates in Microsoft SQL reporting services? I know how to setup the formula in crystal based on this article http://writer.zoho.com/public/13706/27397 but I was wondering if anyone had used the MS SRS software to run reports using dates. Thanks
ManageEngine getting slow....
Since upgrading from 7018 to 7506 about a month ago we have noticed ManageEngine getting slower and less responsive. We're using MySQL as the database engine and have around 12 technicians and approaching 8500 calls. Currently when a user clicks on a call in the request tab it takes around 8 seconds to load. I've seen a couple of comments about tuning the database, are there any instructions on how/what to do this? Cheers, THR

Hi, we are running Opmanager 7204. I'm trying to get the sound notification profile to work. "Out of the box", Opmanager should already play a notification sound. It doesn't work. Endless AD import (with no results)
Hi, anyone else facing the same? AD import on SD+ 7508, Windows 2003 domain. The container on which the import should run shows nicely but then the Import Window stays on Connecting to ActiveDirectory Server... at 0%? And of course, not a single user is imported. Tried diefferent AD domain controller, different username for import, etc. Any ideas please? Thanks.
Netflow for traffic metering
Hi, I've downloaded the ManageEngine Netflow Analyzer to try it out. I'm looking for a feature which would give me a report on which IP address exceeded a given in+out traffic limit in a given time period? This is such that we can bill our customers who exceed their traffic quota. Is there anyway to get this report for your Netflow Analyzer? I've had a look at the reports, they are very good but I'm not able to find this filter. Thanks, Chaminda
Default Request Template
I have tried rearranging the fields in the default template to what I would like them to be, if you edit a request they show up correctly to make selections but if you are looking at the actual request they display out of order. And suggestions would be awesome as it is driving my support guys crazy!
Missing Requests
Hi - wonder if anyone has any clue why this is happening... For some reason when a user puts a ticket in for one specific site the tickets gets created but can't be seen anywhere. Its not in the queue for that site. It's not in any other queue. It just gets created and then vanishes. I have tried creating a ticket on several peoples behalf but they always go missing. Historic View showing level of Open Requests
I am after a report that shows the level of open requests over the last six weeks, Is there a pre-built report to do this or can anyone give me an idea on how to produced it? I am hoping to extract out of SD+ a list possibly in Excel that shows all setup data for my install (7008) and this will then in turn be used for a further independent install. Hoping to get Category>Sub category> Item listings and anything else possible that will amke subsequent installs easier. Is this possible? Hope someone can help Cheers
why does my domain name show up as an resource name?
hello! everytime i run a new asset scan, my domain name comes back as a resource. for example, the actual www.domain.com shows up as a resource name that cannot be scanned. ( (the actual domain controller shows up separately) any advice? i have deleted it multiple times from the asset inventory but it comes back and i get audited on this DB being accurate.

Hi . I want to create a custom filter for the request screen which only shows requests assigned to the currently signed in technician for all request statuses that are not closed or resolved . How do i refer to the currently sign in technician in the filter ? Thanks

I curious to know something that I am not understanding. When I make a device template it asks me to query a device vai SNMP and IP Adress to see if the device exist and then it gives you an OID number. OpManager was indeed able to query the device via SNMP through the IP Address for this device but after I add the custom Monitor and run a test on the custom monitor, this is what I get:(See Below) Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? Using MSSQL instance
Hi Guys, I am attempting to install OpManager version 7 (as that is the version we previously bought) but do not want to use My SQL as we already have a MSSQL infrastructure in place. My current prediciment is how do I install this product and get it to use an MSSQL instance as I have kept getting errors when attempting to do this? The error I get is: Host name is invalid or not reachable I have assigned a user so opmanager can create DB on that instance and I am able to ping that instance

WMI authentication issue
Hi there all, and my complimets to OpManager authors, very nice software. I'm testing OpManager as monitoring software for my company. I'm having a problem on a couple of servers with WMI credentials; when I test credentials on these two machines I have SNMP Passed and WMI Failed so I'won't be able to monitor windows services. Am I missing to configure something on remote machine? I've also tried to authenticate with local admin pw instead of the domain user but still no way. Thanks for your help
Solutions Not Showing Correctly
When you view a solution, it does not display like it does when you are editing the solution. If we use a bullet list, it shows it on the edit page but not if you just open it to look at it. The same thing applies to other things like the font style and even line spacing. Update: I have checked it in both IE and Firefox and they both show the pages in different ways than the edit page shows and they both are wrong in different ways. Ping Monitor Issue
Hi, I'm trying the Applications Manager to monitor remote routers, using the Ping Monitor. I've got a few router ip's added as monitors. Most the time they respond as up, but every day I will get emailed saying something is down. On the next ping/email alert (15mins time) it will generally be up. Is there any options to say if it hasnt repsonded retry before marking the device as down, to stop these false reports. Thanks in advance
91% CPU Utilization based on Idle Process?
Can someone explain if the CPU Utilization monitor is using the idle process in it's calculations of CPU utilization? And if so, how do we correct this? As you can see by the alert below it is identifying a 91% utilization, and listing #1 process as Idle (accounting for 64% of overall?). Please advise. Adding a device with port - "device not reachable"
I am trying to add a server that is in a network which uses port forwarding (that is, multiple servers are using the same ip and the router points to the server based on the port number specified in the address) For example, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx:<port number> However, I am getting a "device not reachable" error. Just wondering if this was something I was doing wrong, or if OpManager does not support this feature. Thanks for any feedback.

Hi All, I'm testing Opmanager 8 and added a ESX 3 server. I'm able to connect with SNMP and CLI (SSH). But only the following are visible: Availability, Response Time, Today's Packet Loss. The VM Dashboard stays empty and no VM's or other resources are visible! Is Opmanager not (yet) compatible with ESX(i) 3 ??? DC monitoring problem
Hi, Can you help me? One of my domain controllers, do not show the info for the adctive directory counter, like kerberos authentications. The other counters, like memory and disk are OK. The wmi connection is correct, because I can list the services, and the password test result is Ok for SNMP and WMI. The other DC is fine, and returning all data. Thanks
