Where do you configure the DNS server IP address in OpUtiils5?
I found one place under IP Address Manager -> Settings where it calls for a "DNS Server Name" (wouldn't you need the IP address, though, not the name? How is it going to find resolve the name without a DNS server?). I've set that to the IP address of my machine running OpUtils5, since that machine is also running SimpleDNSPro. I can resolve local names and IP addresses via NSLOOKUP from a DOS Window, but the OpUtils5 reports and other things don't resolve private IP addresses to names, despite their

When you forward an email from a request, it does not pend to the request. Can you add this feature?

Recover from Server Crash
Hi guys, Long story, but bottom line is that our server crashed big style - 2 hards down - RAID 5 array corrputed etc. We have a backup - but some of that is partially corrput too - could it get much worse?? We have been able to recover the AdventNet/ME/SupportCenter directory. How can we get SC back up and running. We were using a previous version - possibly 6.5 - I can't quite recall. We do have a SC backup from several months ago. The original server and domain no longer exists. Can anyone help
how to activate a deleted user?
Hi I have a requester who was working for us until 2008. Now, in 2010, he has been engaged again. When launching an SQL request SELECT `USER_ID`, `FIRST_NAME`, `MIDDLE_NAME`, `LAST_NAME`, `CREATEDTIME`, `DESCRIPTION` FROM `aaauser` all the delete users are listed. In the table aaauserstatus, all users (even the deleted ones) are in status ACTIVE. How can I activate his user account in SD+ instead of creating a new one? Thanks, Marc
Can't add downtime schedule with end time lesser than start time
Hi all, I want to add downtime schudule for out office time from 5.00 PM to 8.00 AM but when I try to set downtime frequency by every day and set time from 17:00 to 8:00 the program don't allow this value like pictue below. Now I try to split downtime to 2 downtime schedule like this: 1. from 17:00 to 23:45 2. from 00:00 to 8:00 On rule 1. I can't set end time 00:00 because I lesser than start time then I will loss 15 minute for this configuration, please kindly recommend
Deleting Dashboard
I've set up a embedded web page on a dashboard, but when I display the dashboard, the web page goes to full screen and I have to close the window. How do I delete the dashboard as I cannot use the usual method ?
MSMQ attribute not visible
Hi , We are using App Manager 9 build 9110. We are having some server running MSMQ_Queus. we need to monitor queue of all server. However , when we try to add attribute in Windows Perfomance counter we are not able to see Win32_PerfFormattedData_MSMQ_MSMQQueue attribute on some server. Pls note , same is visible on some server also MSMQ is running on all server and message are flowing perfectly fine .Also we are able to queue status using prefmon .

Hi, I successfully upgraded application manager 8 to version 9, but i noticed that the application manager service is always off, even when manually started. This also affected the AIX servers that i edited their memory utilization command to "sudo svmon -G" in HostResource.xml file. When i click on each AIX server in order to monitor the resource utilization, the page does not open. I have reverted the editing of the HostResource.xml file but the problem still persist. Can someone please help

Turning off email requests
Hi, We are using ServiceDesk Plus 7.6 and currently have the users going to the website and opening the requests. Well, some people know that if they send an email to helpdesk@company.com it will auto create the request. We would like to disable that feature to force the users to sign in to the web form. Is there a way to turn that off without compromising the reply feature when the users are answering questions to already opened requests? Thanks

How does one load/remove devices programmatically?
My company uses an asset tracking tool which we have direct SQL access to and would like to use it as a source to feed into Password Manager Pro. I know Password Manager Pro uses MySQL (Yah!) as a backend so in theory I can manage the devices in Password Manager Pro via a script. There is now reference (that I see) in the manual on how to added or removed resources programmatically in the manual. Can someone please give advice on how to add/remove devices to Password Manager Pro programmatically.
eventlog monitoring
Hi, We want to monitor the evelog log for errors. Within AppManager you'll have the option to monitor specific events. For this you'll have to enable eventlog monitoring of the server. The downside of this feature is that the alarm will stay on the alarm page until the next poll. In case you poll the server every minute you'll only see the alarm for 1 minute. Is there anyway to show announcements in the requester part of the Service Desk? Eg we have an externally hosted exchange solution, which has its issues, so when a user goes to log a call via the service desk area, they can see via an anouncement or ticker that IT knows there is an email issue currently. Custom Views for Solutions (Contacts)
Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to configure Custom Views in teh Solutions modules for the Contacts that log into the Support Center Plus. Currently, they can only see two Views: All Solutions, and Recent Solutions. I want them to also be able to see the Custom Views that I create as the administrator. thank you.

Multiline Additional Fields for Assets not showing correctly.
When I add Multiline Additional Fields to Assets they don't show up as multi line in the create/edit asset page. This is my additional field: It contains 4 lines in total: Fahrzeug Nr.: Fahrer Nr.: Cadis User: Barcodes: This is data I only need for our scanners - so I don't want to waste Additional Fields and make each one it's own field. Is possible to decrease the dump interval to the database? I get the data in the database after 15min, can it be reduced to 5min?
Unable to delete departments in Servicedesk
I am trying to remove some old departments but it is not allowing me to delete them. I am getting error saying that they are still in use and cannot be deleted. I have gone through and run the database queries that are supposed to remove them but I still cannot get rid of them. I ran a report to find all of the requests still using those departments and deleted them and I am still unable to remove them. Please help. Thx

Manually Asseting Software to System
Is there a way to manually assign a software license to a system? There are some systems that are either 1) unable to be scanned by ServiceDesk or 2) the software on the system is unable to be detected. This causes a problem when we need to know what system is using a certain purchased software. For instance, one product that we purchased is a plugin for another product. Receive SNMP notifications from devices.
I've setup and started the Windows SNMP Service and disabled the SNMP Trap service. Then started OpManager and added my device's. But when I go to the website of a device and for example an APC UPS. Mail server setting issue
Hi, I created 3 business units with 3 email accounts for fetching email requests. They have their own account user name (let's say test1, test2 and test3), and password (password1, password2 and password3). When I configure mail server settings, I can only put 1 user name and password since it is global setting. If I put 'test1' and 'password1', it will only get emails from that email account. It does not fetch emails from test2 and test3. How do I need to configure user name and password for
Printer Monitoring
Hi I Have all my printers in opmanager and SNMP is working. When you go into the printers group though, it has the printer icon but not the box next to it which has the symbols.
