Requests older than 2 Days
Hi, I need a daily report for all requests older than 2 days which are not closed. Columns I would need are Request ID, Request Status, Created Time, Requester, Subject, Technician and Priority. We can group this based on Group. We are using mssql SDPlus version 8.0.0 Build 8020 Any help would be appreciated.
Re-Configuring PM tasks which are changed to 'One time' task after 8.1 upgrade
Dear Users, The Issue "Preventive Maintenance task schedules get changed to one time schedule" has been fixed in the hotfix 8107. The task schedule(s) which are changed to one time schedule will not be recovered automatically after upgrade to 8107. I'm tryint to install this product in a long network, but the computers are in a workgroup with "empty" passwork, and Desktop Central tell me "Password cannot be empty" It's possible install without password?

Browse tools under device snapshot
Goodday, Under Device Snapshot, there is a tool called "Browse to <device>". I click on it, it pop up a browser with http://<hostname>, but there is nothing display? Sort of like a page not found when we surf net. What exactly is this tools for? Do i need to configure something in order for it to works? Thanks.

Consecutive Times value under Device threshold
Hi, For Consecutive Times value under Device threshold setting, if i set it to 2: Does it mean it has to violate threshold > alarm cleared > violate threshold again... then consider 2 times? OR Violate threshold > Violation value increase (without being cleared) ... consider 2 times? Example for Disk Utilization, threshold 80%. If it violate 81% (1 time)... let say it did not get cleared... and now it went to 82%... will this generate alarm? Thanks.

Hi, I am trying to install OpManager trial into my Ubuntu 6.06, unfortunately still unsuccessful. Networks Map Display
Hi, Networks Map is an automated diagram based on the discover devices? I have 8 servers discovered with SNMP enabled. When I click on Networks Map, I only see 2 icons, grouped by their IP. There is no line/connection or whatsoever joining them, eventhough the servers are in the same network. Is this expected? Thanks.
wmiprvse high cpu
Hello, I've installed the desktop central agent on a windows 7 64bit hp laptop. The problem is that the wmiprvse takes about 25-30 % cpu usage. Svchost takes also 30% cpu, so pc is running slowly then. When I uninstall the agents, svchost and wmiprvse have no cpu usage. Any ideas? I'm running the latest builds of desktop central. Thx

Is there a way to run a report to search for all conversations to a certain email address? For example, I would like to run a report that shows all requests that include conversation emails sent to jsmith@abc123.com.
SNMP Monitor and Juniper-Firewall-MIB
We are currently implementing Juniper SRX-400 firewalls and would like to monitor them via SNMP. We successfully added the Juniper-Firewall-MIB to the list of available MIB's but after selecting the MIB and selecting the OID's we would like to monitor the screen refreshes and none of the attributes are attached to the monitor. Do we need to add each OID individually, or am I missing something? Thanks!
Server Monitor - Server Process Monitoring
We are experiencing some weird behavior from a Server 2008 monitor where it will randomly say that the processes we have selected for monitoring are down when they are not in fact down. Re-polling and refreshing the screen does not correct the state. After a couple of hours the monitor returns to sanity and reports the state of the processes correctly. Has anyone seen this behavior before? thanks!

Hello, If you send an approval from a request to someone, but if that someone has their emails on forward to another person, then the other person can approve the approval request. Hyperthetical situation: Manager forwards emails to next highest ranking staff member (for whatever reason). This staff member requests something that only his manager can approve. The technician is not aware of the manager having forwarded his emails to the requesting staff member and sends the approval to the manager.

Then I did some Googling around and discovered that Xfree86 isn't even available in most of the top Linux distributions anymore. Is there a way to install opmanager 9 on a linux box without xfree86? My understanding is opmanager is a tomcat based web server with a mysql backend. Why is xfree86 needed? Mail to Requester - Sending notification failed
We have two domains within our organization. When we try to reply to a requester in the alternate domain through the helpdesk the email address will populate the field but then we get a window that says: Sending notification failed. Apparently we can not send email to any addresses outside of our main domain. This used to work and now it doesn't. Please advise. thanks.
upgraded to 7606: the technician groups are not shown any more
Hello I just upgraded to 7606. Everything works fine, EXEPT that the groups are not shown in the dropdown lists anymore. Here's my debugging: When creating a new request, the groups are available in the 'Group' dropdown list. After selecting the site in the 'Site' dropdown list, the groups disappear. I can not select the group in the 'group' dropdown list any more. The only option is '-- Select Group --' When setting back the site to 'Not associated to any site' the groups become available again
DR Requirements - MS SQL
Hi.. I would like some clarification around the needs for Backups of the MS SQL environment when using PMP. Within the Admin console is the option "Database Backup" which I believe runs a script to perform a SQL backup of the PMP database. Within our environment we are using a shared SQL infrastructure and thus do not have the ability to run processes such as a backup script. As the SQL instance is on a Shared Infrastructure server that machine is fully backup up (log hourly, Full Daily).

Utilising CCTV
Hi, May i know what is the practice of using CCTV? Or the difference between CCTV and Dashboard? Both CCTV and Dashboard widgets are syncrhonise, except dashboard is not auto refresh? I read that it can be grouped and cater for diferent users (network...server...etc). I created one CCTV, and it appeared in a different window. But how do we share that with others? we can just provide a permanent URL link for the CCTV? Thanks.
Select Asset popup size problem
After our upgrade to 8.1 the size of the popup windows when we are to add/change asset doesn't show all information. We are not seeing the search icon and we have to change the size every time we open the select asset page. I have included a screen shoot of this. We are on SDP 8.1 8107 Is there a way that we can include embedded video in a solution? For example, if I had a flash video showing how to change your desktop resolution, the user could then find that solution and have both text instructions or click on the embedded flash video (from youtube or another similar site) and watch and listen to the instructions. Currently it appears that we can only enter rich text and as such the code for embedded media does not work.

When adding a new contact through the search window: there is no account option. Is there a place to select this fields. If not possible, can at least be considered as a future option.

Hi all, One of our customers doesn't like the format of the "From:" field in emails from our Servicedesk (a very picky customer!). The mails are sent out with the "From:" header like: "accountname - Support" <service.desk@ourdomain.com> The customer would like us to change the "accountname - Support" part as it conflicts with his internal systems. SDP 8026 on Win 2008 R2 64 bit
I can't seem to get this installed. Tried the latest release and it hung on the loading screen at loading application layer.... the changedb bat told me that it would not work with my ver of sql (2008) that I should downgrade to 8026. Uninstall and reboot. Install 8026. I used port 88. Install seems to work. Reboot and log in, manageengine servicedesk service is running in windows services. Microsoft CAL licensing - Can't add requester to 2 CAL software licenses
Hi, I've created 2 software licenses in ServiceDesk with license type 'CAL'. I've found if I add requester to first license then I can't add them to 2nd license. Going forward we have to manage CALs for Exchange, SQL Server and Windows Server. I will need to add requester to 3 licenses if possible.
