We have a server that was added as a Server 2008 monitor to AppManager by its hostname (not the FQDN). This server has two network interfaces, each with separate DNS entries. NIC #1 resolves correctly to hostname.domain.com  and NIC #2 resolves correctly to hostname-bkp.domain.com via NSLOOKUP. Alias's are not used for this server.

The monitor was added successfully but I noticed that AppManager is monitoring on NIC#2 vs. NIC#1. When pinging the hostname or or using NSLOOKUP the name always resolves to NIC#1 and never NIC#2 unless explicitly specified with hostname-bkp.

How does AppManager decide what interface to monitor the server on?
