Syslog on OpManager
Hi there. I'm using the latest version of OpManager to monitor around 400 systems. I understand that OpManager doesnt store syslog messages. I'ld like to know if I can install another Syslog utility on the same server and make OpManager forward syslog events to that utility. If yes, how should I configure it? Thanks. Jayesh

Hi, I installed the SDP, made some language changes on the config system. I made backup of the server and migrate the data to another server, but the language changes didnt come with the rest of the data. Can I backup/migrate the language changes on the SDP? How? Thanks.

Workstation scan
I did a manual scan of one workstation and received a failer message that the credentials were wront. I scanned the workstation again with the correct credentials and had a successfull scan. Now I have a duplicate record with _old on the failed scan workstation ID. How can I avoid a duplicate record? Also, the next time the auto scan runs, will the failed recored be removed?
Exclude 'store', 'expired', 'disposed' machines from scan?
I have a long list of workstations that can not be scanned. No big surprise, most of them are turned off and sitting in my storeroom. Is there a way to exclude them from being scanned (and failing) but still keep them in the database? This way, I could focus on the machines that REALLY can't be scanned.... Thank you!
reporting on timespent of calls outside normal business hours
I need to run a report on timespent , specifically the volume of calls and time spent on calls outside normal business hours. E.g. outside 9-5.30pm or 8am-6pm - is this possible?
Difference between ServiceDesk and desktop central
Hi support, I have some questions. We're running both desktopcentral and servicedesk plus. 1) You can take remote control of a computer with servicedesk and desktopcentral. Only, there is some big difference between those two. With remote desktop in Desktopcentral you have more options and it works a lot faster. Why is the remote desktop tool in servicedesk not the same as in desktopcentral? 2) Desktop central syncs all our workstations to servicedesk plus. We're also using MDM in desktop central,

View based on the red envelopes
Can we create a view which only shows requests that have been replied/responded to i.e. have the red envelope icon. I am backing up sd+ at the moment so I am unable to check, but can we sort the "envelope icon" column to put the red ones above the green?
There are several servers we do not want to scan but need to keep on the asset list
But, Workstation(s)/Server(s) failed during last scan. list is keep comes back whenever I scan the servers. Those specific servers are just for record purpose and outside of the domain. (also blocked by firewall due to the company policy) How can I keep those servers / workstations away from Failed scan list? Thank you in advance.
Viewing multiple monitors using SDP remote
It would be nice to have the same ability as Desktop Central to view multiple monitors when remote to systems. I saw a post that was 1 year old, but nothing else posted pertaining to it.
External Database
Hi, I would like to know if SDP has the option to get external data from another database. Example, I made a template where the user has to input the license plate and name of the owner in two additional fields I made, but this info is in another system that uses MS SQL and right now they have to input it by hand. I wanted to know if its possible to let's say input a certain number and the system consults the external data and brings it to the Service Desk. Thanks, Bijan
Custom Reports
There are a few things I'd like to see in future releases related to Reports. Please let me know if any of these items are currently available . Allow technician access to query reports. Have Report roles allowing both read and write access. Is there any plan to someday have the ability to add a prompts to reports? I'd like to be able to prompt the user for certain information such as the technician group he wants included in the report As administrator, I am unable to delete empty report folders.

Report question
Since SDP has our hours in the database, is there any way to create a report, either with built in reports or via a SQL query that we can see how many tickets are being closed during NON business hours? For us that would be nights after 5, all day Sat/Sun and holidays. TIA Craig

HI I have load of updates to do on our asset list which would be quicker for me to export it out from SD update in Excel and re import. 1, I have exported all the data using the new reports options 2, Found the Import asset option on the asset screen Problem I can export 24 fields and only import 17 fields. is there a way to import everything we can export ????

Hello I am using sflow on a couple of HP Procurve switches and was wondering if there is somewhere that I set the default sample rate in Netflow Analyzer to 4096 so that when the interfaces are discovered, I don't have to manually change them all. Remote URL Sequence Monitoring
I am currently looking at setting up URL sequence monitoring using the recorder tool. I can get this working fine from the App Manager server, I however need to monitor the performance of number URL sequences from a number of difference remote locations. Is it possible to replay the recorded URL sequences using remote agents? and then display this info on a single central console?
WMI Monitoring on localhost ?
Hello, is it possible to access WMI on the localhost (i.e. the Windows System on which AppManager is installed) ? If I try to access it using an admin local acount, I get the 80041064 error, which seems to be normal, regarding the microsoft WMI security policy. While creating a new Server monitor, it's not possible to leave user and/or password fields blank, which is required to access WMI locally. Regards. Carl
Viewing all configured alarms associated to an action
Hello, We've been trying to setup AppManager for a few days now and have seen a couple of different ways to set up alarms, thresholds and actions. For example, from the "configure alarms" sections, we can "Total disks %" and choose to associate thresholds and actions. However, if we want to set up a threshold and action for specifically the C:\ drive utilization, we need to view the monitor and click the traffic light button and set the threshold and action there. But.. we can't see both of these

Monitoring HP server hardware SNMP/WMI
We are using AppMan ver 10 (10900) and we need to monitor the actual HP server hardware. For this purpose we've enabled SNMP on the server, installed the HP agents and run a discover using SNMP. This works just fine. Our problem now is that we can't monitor Windows services, just Windows processes. Any suggestions? Thanks.
restore from Opmanger v9410 on MySQL to Opmanager v9450 on MSSQLExpress
Hello everybody ! I'm testing the new OpManager with MSSQLEXPRESS bundled. I Installed it without any issue. BUT, when I tried to restore my datas from OpManager v9410 (MySQL Bundled) to the new OpManager server (v9450 MSSQLEXPRESS bundled), there is a error concerning the datas version. Obviously, the version number are different (v9410 against v9450, see screenshots...) how can I restore my datas????
OpManager Error 1067
Hi, I'm installed a new probe server of Opmanager on a Win 2008 R2 x64 and connected this server to old OpManager DB. Before it similar server was worked with this DB. Server crashed and we replace it to a new machine with the same IP, DNS name and other configurations. But after that while I'm trying to start OpManager service system shows me the 1067 error. Relocate Swuploads Folder
When you configure the Software Repository, you can configure an existing network share(i.e. \\MachineName\ExampleShare). This works well to set the default folder when adding my own software for deployment. However, this doesn't work for *all* software. If I use the Templates to download software directly from the vendor, it doesn't place these downloaded applications in my Software Repository. Instead, these files are placed in "DesktopCentral_Server\webapps\DesktopCentral\swrepository\swuploads".

Purchase order permissions
Hi, I would like to use purchase orders to track our purchasing and inventory our stock. What I need is for the technicians to be able to create a PO that will more or less follow the process so that we can track when they order a item and when it is recieved. Also what dept. it is expensed to. When I have a general technician log on, Purchase order is not in their quick actions or a tab on menu bar. Large amount of data in temp\reports\ADSMUserMemberOf directory
We currently have 33 GB of data in the ADManager Plus\temp\reports\ADSMUserMemberOf directory. They are text files dating back months. Are these safe to delete? Is there a process that should be purging this out automatically?
DownTime Report - Built In
It looks like this report hasn't gotten any love for a while. As far as I can tell, this is the only report that is going to show me how MANY times a device goes down and individual durations of those instances. It gives a start of outage and end of outage time, great, and then it gives the total duration of that individual outage, great. Closing Requests with multiple tasks
Hi I setup an incident template which has 12 tasks to complete before the incident can be closed. I also setup a status called "Skipped" which is a "complete" status, the same as "closed". Although I have it set that associated tasks must be completed before the incident can be closed, I would like some of the task statuses to be set as "skipped" as there is occasionally nothing required for those steps. Software Inventory Groups - Version Number?
