unable to update patches
Hi, Im unable to update the patches why. sometimes it update the patches and sometimes it just failed. and out of 10desktop 1pc are not updated at all even the agent was installed and the scan process is working.. pls help sathish

All my patches are nt pdated to clients. bt i have tested before it works then after i create a grp to install for 10desktops and rn deploy new patches and its nt working. Please assist me why is the pdates are not being deplyed to all clients sathish
dcconfig.exe error
On several of my workstations, at seemingly random times, I get an error message that says dcconfig.exe had an error and had to be shutdown. In the Application section of the Event Viewer I get an Event ID 1000, Source "Application Error" along with the message "Faulting application dcconfig.exe", version 0.0.0.0, faulting module dcconfig.exe, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00039071." I am evaluating Desktop Central 6 but when I run a Software Deployment for Flash to 32 computers. Result sucessfuly 31 computers. Remain 1 computer remark the reason "The storage control block address is invalid". Can anyone tell me what this referring to and how to fix it? Tks Penny Lee Penny Lee
Software Deployment not support UNC path
I have using trial version of Deskop Centrl 6. However, I use batch file on "Run the Script before Installing Software" under Software Package Repository> Add Software Package. The result UNC not support. Can I confirm the problem because I using trial version and the paid version is support UNC patch? Penny Lee
Vulnerability DB Sync?
My Vulnerability DB will not sync. It acts like it is going to then it states "The Page Cannot Display" and it never updates that it sync'd. I have it setup to sync everyday but it has not sync'd since December 21st. Anyone else having this problem? Jamie

hi i have installed the client.exe and able to scan all the pc. i deployed the patch..the say completed but failed to apply the patched to clients. there is nothing block in between. AgentTrayIcon.exe errors
Two of my clients for Desktop Central 6 have had pop up errors regarding AgentTrayIcon.exe not being able to start. AgentTrayIcon.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. can't install critical patch
Hi, I found a critical patch which is missing in more than 20 PC and shows PCs as Highly Vulnerable. Hi, Im configuring the ticket templates, since the language is portuguese we have special characters that appear wronlgy. I cant edit after saving a template with those characters and neither can I delete it, How can I configure this to work with our characters and how can I delete the template? Turn wireless OFF when wired is ON?
Is there a method (or tool) that I might use Enterprise wide to force wifi OFF on laptops when they get docked or plugged into wired ports? I am worried about bridging, and users NEVER remember to flick that little switch to disable the radio so I'd like to force it whenever they plug the wired in and connect to the ethernet.

I'm trying to test deploying office 2007 using Desktop Central. However, there's no place to enter xml files.. Has any of you used desktop central to roll out Office 2007. Patch Management and Bandwidth Utilization
I am in the process of just getting the eval version set up. We have a dispersed environment w/ 31 remote offices, each with a domain controller. I am looking at this for a replacement of WSUS. All of our offices connect back to corporate via PIX or ASA VPN's. Does anyone have any background on how big of a bandwidth hog the patch management is? I don't want to waste my time. Every time I try to create a remote connection to a PC I keep having an error complaining that the "publisher is unknown". I haven tried to trust/install the certificate but still have the same problem... Asset Agent not getting installed
Hi there, I have about 400 computers in my network that I'm trying to install the agent on, about 100 of them it works fine, however for the rest of them it's not installing the agent, can anyone help me out on this issue? I'm using agent version 6.2.24. I'm getting a bit frustrated and it's only my second day using this software. Any early help would be greatly appreciated.
Desktop Central software distribution
I need to distribute software - specifically the MS office compatibility pack. I have the deployment guide and am using the recommended switches. I am able to execute the file using START/RUN + path. I have 1 workstation I'm trying to distribute to as a test. I have pushed the configuration several times and the result was reported as a success within the Desktop Central 6 application, however the compatibility pack has not installed. There is no error message. I have build #60230 and version 6.0.0.
remote control 8443 already in use
How can we change the port number used for remote control via Desktop Central? Tried restarting DC but didn't help. We're on build v6.0.0 build 60227 Desktop Central uses TCP port 8443 for the remote control communication. This port is already used by some other service. Use edit settings to change the port number or free the port for Desktop Central to use.
invalid workgroups/domains
My network consists of one domain, and no active workgroups. I say "no active workgroups" because occasionally during troubleshooting we will move a workstation from the domain to a workgroup and then back to the domain. Desktop Central now "sees" these workgroups and are listed throughout the web interface. How can I remove these? They aren't really hurting anything, but I'd rather not see them. Period. Don't want them. Any help with removing these and the computers within contained within these
After update, software deployment is broken
I'd love to use your tech support number, but you guys apparently don't answer that number anymore, probably too busy fixing the new set of bugs introduced by the last service pack. I installed the latest service pack, and now NOTHING will deploy. I've gone through all the steps in your FAQ, but it still won't deploy to ANY desktops. Please fix. Desktop Central - Help Desk Ticket System
When a employee uses the Help Desk Submit ticket system, it captures there username. However, in AD the username is not apart of their email address. We strictly use the Alias name. Example: My username is jasonc. However my email address is jason.capo@kellstrom.com Is there a way that Desktop Central can scan the username and get the alias name instead. I have a problem with remote shutdown of computers. When I select the computer through tools and then select shutdown, the computer wont do a shutdown. Even so the server says it has succesfully shutdown. Can u please help me troubleshoot this problem. Wim Thomaere

Can DC coexist with ServiceDesk Plus on the same server hardware/OS installation? Will there be any issues/conflicts? They need to operate on different ports offcourse, but is this a supported configuration? TIA, Henrik

.NET 2.0 PUSH
I pushed out .NET 2.0 to 95 computers (dotnetfx2.0.exe /q), 63 were successful "The operation completed successfully" and 30 Failed "The wait operation timed out". I checked these successful computers and .net 2.0 is not installed so I had to run around and do the installs manually. A few computers did have it installed but I think we may have installed it for another piece of software. Why are these PCs showing successful if it is not installed? On the 30 PC that failed is there a way to restart
