OS Deployer Desktop Central Push Deployments
The one item that keeps our group from using OS Deployer is the inability to push deployments via agent to a workstation. We currently have this capability with Smartdeploy and it is a God send when it comes to mass deployments without having to have people sitting in front of workstations. Are there currently any plans to add push deployment via agent to OS Deployer?
Automatic device name selection
Hi, I have a question about deploying an os to muliple systems. I would like to use the computer detail settings list in my deployment template to check if a mac address already has an assigned device name. If the mac address is not in that list, i want desktopcentral to deploy the system with a new name, lets say DTCFR{001}. Am i correct dat if i have the computer detail setting list selected, and i also filled in a name in 'Target computer name', that it will first check the list, and if that's

OSDeployer step-by-step
What is the best way to go about building a golden image? I want to make sure I do this correctly but I don't see any guides on what best practice is for the agent installation after the image has been deployed. So here a couple questions: 1. Do you install the DesktopCentral agent to the Windows 10 image then capture it for deploying it later? 2. Can the agent be installed using the post deployment application install template?
Edit or delete "Target computer(s) domain)" in deployment templates
How can I edit or delete a "Target computer(s) domain)", i can only find the option "Add Domain" in Desktop Central, OS Deployment, Deployment templates?
Surface Pro 4 v. OS Deployer
Anybody know how to get Surface Book Pro 4s to boot PXE (and get to my OSDeployer server) when I keep getting the following: >> Start PXE over IPv4. Station IP address is xx.xx.xx.xx Server IP address is xx.xx.xx.xx NBP filename is bootwiz.bin NBP filesize is 26624 Bytes Downloading NBP file... NBP file downloaded successfully. >> Start PXE over IPv6. When I disable IPv6, I get the IPv4 prompts above, however the Surface goes straight into Windows 10 ultimately bypassing PXE. I'm researching the
ME OS Deployer Support Questions
We currently use several other products from ME, but OS Deployer seems to be the least focused on for updates and documentation and features. Maybe the community can help me out. Where on the ME website can you find the current build number of OS Deployer? Where can I find the current supported nic drivers for the OS Deployer Agent? Why cant I inject drivers like other OS deployment software? Since most of this product is Acronis, do i gain anything with ME OS Deployer vs Acronis? Is there actual
OS Deploy to HP Prodesk G4 really slow
Usually our images are installed within a few minutes but our latest batch of HP PC's (Prodesk G4 SFF) are taking around 6 hours to build. BIOS etc look ok and NIC is connecting at 1Gb, anyone else use these PC's and have similar issues?
Os Deployer ManageEngine Remote Agent Service keeps crashing
Hello I've installed OS deployer to windows 2016. When I restart my windows 2016 machine then I can make one deployment without any problems and if I want to make a restart or start a another deployment then The computer to what I wish to deploy OS goes to this state(see the attachment) And doesn't go further anymore. Also I cannot stop ManageEngine Remote Agent Service then, without killing it. If I kill it and then start it again, then it is all good for 1 deployment again and then the problem

Server says no licenses available
We are trying to deploy an image in OS Deployer 4 but gets this messages and the deployment fails:"Message: No ManageEngine OS Deployer 4.0 for Workstation - Machine License on 'X.X.X.X'." and "Message: No free ManageEngine OS Deployer for Workstation - Deployment License on 'X.X.X.X'." When we look in the license console we see this: ManageEngine OS Deployer 4.0 for Workstation - Machine License Used=20 Available=0 ManageEngine OS Deployer 4.0 for Workstation - Upgrade License Used=0
Creation of an Administrator in Windows 10
Here at our IT shop we are doing plenty of rounds of Windows 10 deployment, so bear with me as I've been finding some issues with OS Deployer. There is an option to create user accounts by 1. Right clicking on the Machine name. 2. Selecting "Individual Settings" 3. Selecting "User Accounts" 4. Adding a user name and selecting a group (Administrators, Power users, Users.) Here's the problem: I can create the user and assign it a password. Now, whenever I log into the freshly imaged computer (running
Issue 2 of 2: Machines aren't listed as ready
Here is my second issue as stated from my previous post ... Ever since 5.0.3136 went live I've noticed the following problem: whenever I unbox and boot up new machines via PXE they aren't automatically listed under "Machines on [name of OS deployer server]" [As an aside, I noticed this happening to even recently imaged machines, too. They will restart (because I tell them to restart in the deployment template) and invariably boot to PXE and default to the agent. Even if the newly imaged machine is
Looking for Windows software deployment solutions for custom applications
Hello, Hey Spiceheads, got a bit of a quandary here, we're cracking the nut on custom internal desktop applications for some of our heavy lifting applications and I've been tasked with finding an A - Z method of setting the environment, and currently find myself stalled on application deployment. I know you can toss things to the wild using GPO, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, and PDQ; however, as I've got zero experience with these tools, and the fact is that I'm a web developer, not a sysadmin, I'm
ASD - no onboard NIC detected
Hello, I've seen a lot of issues on the forums regarding this particular model. Just got off tech support chat who confirmed there are no drivers for that model in the Boot Image creator. Hopefully it shouldn't be too much longer for their engineers to generate an update (sent them the AcronisInfo results). Meanwhile, for those who want to run Windows 7 x64, search Dell's site for R230202. (of course, no need to install the entire package). Hope that helps anyone. Thanks. 3D Animated Video

Does OS Deployer handle m.2 PCIe SSDs?
Our shop has purchased 20 new Dell Optiplex 7040s. We built out a Windows 10 image for one 7040. I'm trying to use OS Deployer to capture an image (via PXE.) Whenever I try we get the following error message: Error - E000101F4: ManageEngine OS Deployer 5 Master Image Creator has not found any hard disk drive. We are able to capture images from all kinds of computer hard drives with the exception of this one. Does OS Deployer handle m.2 PCIe SSDs? Ours are Samsung PM951 NVMe 256Gb drives. I've tinkered
Windows 10 ADK support?
I am creating a WinPE 10 image to use with Optiplex 7050's and am noticing that when creating the image the Windows 8.1 ADK is being used instead of the Windows 10 ADK (I selected the wim file in the Windows 10 ADK when creating the media). I attached some screenshots of when the media is being created and when it is being uploaded. We are using OS Deployer version 5.0.3,136
Force PXE Server to answer special MACs only
Hi, According to this Thread https://resources.manageengine.com/topic/os-deployer-pxe-boot-question it seems, that I can not prevent the PXE Server to deliver the PE bootimage to other Systems. Configuring the PXE-Server to autoboot Windows is no solution. I want to control when a System is starting normally to Windows and alternatively when it is starting to an automated deployment with a preselected Image. Is this possible with OS Deployer? or Can I simply configure somewhere to which MAC addresses
Not able to Deploy Win-10 OS in Lenovo laptop.
HI Team, We are planing for upgrading our infrastructure, from Win-7 to Win-10, but unfortunately we are unable to install Win-10 through OS Deployer on machine, as its getting failed while deployment. we try to troubleshoot using error code which was generated in deployment logs. Also we check same on X240 Laptop, but there is no luck. Event code: 0x00340001+0x00330004 Error Code-4 I tried to troubleshoot with this error code. search for Acronis Support, but i didn't found anything
Booting to Agent Takes a Long Time
Recently I got our PXE server working and was doing testing in our environment. We found very quickly that booting into the Agent often took five minutes or more to get to a point where we could start taking or deploying an image. The screen we get stuck on is the one where it says "Reading all physical volumes. This may take a while..." To me 5+ minutes is way too long considering taking an image off of a base machine only takes 5-10 mins. Is there a way to speed this up? Perhaps its something in
Dell E7470 Nic Interface Not Found
We are Deploying OSD version 5.0.3.124 , deploying Win 7 X64 image , When we do PXE boot we see ME page , but we are not able to see the Nic Card . Any way i can plug in the driver and see the nic card. Thanks
Upload PE Image to PXE
Every time I try to upload an image to PXE I get error like the attached photo. I saw in previous post to uninstall and reinstall the Manage Engine PXE server I did that, and still nothing works. I uploaded the WIM I am trying to use to the same drive on the Server as the OS Deployer is installed in but still unable to get this thing to work properly
Unable to save image to external device
Hi We recently purchased OS Deployer 5 (5.0.3,117) but have been encountering issues when saving an image to external USB hard drive. We have tried two external devices, both 2/3 TB and unused. The external hard drives were recognised when connected to a PC but when we attempt to save an image to the device, OS Deployer doesn't see the device and is unable to save the image. The external hard drives can then no longer be used as they are not recognized devices regardless of which PC they are connected
Deployment error
Hi. I'm now testing OS Deployer's demo in virtual environment and trying to deploy a master image using PXE-boot on target machine. OS Deployer Agent boots successfully and says it is waiting for deployment. Server sees target machine, i start deployment task, target machine reboots and that's all. In logs there are errors : Source '' is unavailable. License Issue after upgrade to OS Deployer 4.0
Hello there, we've recently upgraded from OS Deployer 3 to version 4. We currently have 40 OS Deployer 3.0 for workstation machine licenses. But now when I try to deploy an image to a machine using PXE boot I get the following error: Host '<ip>' has failed the deployment. Distributing OS image over WAN
Hi, Do you have to install Distribution Server in dedicated server at remote site or can it be run on print or file server? Or is it even possible to install Distribution Server in Windows 7 PC? Some desktop management products can use one of the remote site client PCs as a "distribution point" for rest of the PCs at remote site, is there this kind of feature in Desktop central? /Petteri
Automating OS image deployment and application deployment
Hi, If I have a clean OS image without any un-necessary applications. Can I create an automated task where both solutions OS Deployment and Desktop Central Software Deployment work together? OS Deploymet pushes the Windows 7 image after that Software Deployment starts to push selected application packages automatically. Or do I have to make these in separate steps, step 1 OS deployment, step 2 application A deployment, step 3 application B deployment, step 4 application C deployment ... Kind
XP & Win 7 Difference
Hi Babu , i have another question in the hopes of you pointing me in the right direction. Why it is there a different option when loading a Winxp system to capture an image than that of a win7 system, with win xp it gives you a section where u can see the network card info and address assign etc and with windows 7 it does not. And with windows xp when proceeding it also give u the option to save the image on a network share but with windows 7 it does not , it only gives u option to save the image
network shares to install - performance
Hello, We have a deployment server on ip 1 and one network share where we have the images with ip 2. We see that a client is installating from the storage with ip 2 BUT we also see that on the ip 1 there is all the traffic from ip 2 too. This means that anyway the traffic is going from computer to ip 1 and from ip 1 to ip 2 and back top IP 1 and to the computer installing. Maybe is not so clear what I’m explaining but we have clearly a problem of perfomances using the ip1 to deploy directly
Fast to create image but up to 4 hours to deploy
Hi has anyone has this issue before where you create/upload the image and the speed is quite fast, but when you go to deploy it back to a workstation it takes up to 4 hours to complete. Thanks D
OS Deployer 3 to multiple sys over the Network
Using this product, what is the best approach to accomplishing the following real world example?: Campus environment OS Deployer Server on same subnet as DHCP server serving all campus computers (not same server, just same subnet) Campus computers currently running a Windows OS Unable to physically go to each computer to force PXE boot or use bootable media, so that's not an option. Need to deploy a new master image to all campus computers without PXE or bootable media Is this possible using
OS Deployer 3
It seems strange to me that if I take an image from a machine to a storage goes at 80mb/s and when I try frmo the same storage to apply the template to the same machine on the same network goes only to 4, 5mb/s. It set to throttle to 1gb unicast and I have only 1 machine on the network making the operation and no other traffic. I guess for the upload of the master image you don't have speed throttle where you have for the installation of the single images. is there a way to remove this limitation?
Vlan
Hi, I have a network contains 4 Vlan. My deployment Server is in Vlan 1. Question is how can I or can I deploy OS from my server to other Vlans (Vlan 2, Vlan 3, Vlan 4) Thank you.
