Hello, I am a Managed Service Provider. I really like you product, but I am wondering is it possible to have a server at a remote customer site to reports to a central server? I want to monitor text log files as follows: On the occurrence of a given pattern in a log file, I want a trap or email to be sent with the matching line. Can OpManager do this ? If not, do you know if Application Manager can do it ?

CUSTOM MONITOR... just a ping !!
Hi. I need to make a custom monitor but I don't know how. The only thing I want it to do is to make 3 pings to my router, and to return an alert if two of them did not respond. So far I've made a few monitors using "icmpOutEchos" (.1.3.6.1.2.1.5.21) as OID but it did not work very fine. can anybody help me? thanks
Adding MIBS
Is there a quicker way of adding custom graphs than entering the OID of the particular item you wish to monitor? Is it possible to import the MIB somehow? Thanks, Jamie Jensen

Hello, we are currently evaluate Opmanager to monitor Dell servers, other devices such printers and routers, and some applications like Exchange 2000, Veritas BackupExec. We have a question about SNMP trap processors : will it be possible in a future release to import TRAP processors directly from a MIB file ? Will it be possible to import graph directly from a MIB file ? (for example : .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.veritassoftware .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.dell.storage)
set ping timeout
Hi I want the ping timeout to devices to be greater than the current (its currently about 1000ms) as some devices are on small 128k pipes that sometimes get to 1500ms RTD, which triggers a false "down" alert. I can find a place to change snmp timeouts but not icmp... can this be achieved? Thanks Dave
bug / non working feature - adding resource monitors
Hi I have been re-configuring opmanager on a new server, and have found that when applying the "disk space used in gb" resource monitor to multiple machines, it does not allow you to specify which drives to monitor this means that there is never any data returned. all our servers have the same drive config, and the only way to get it to report is to go into each server manually and add the resource monitor with the specific drives...quite annoying when you have to do it to 50 servers! is there any
Business View adding Issues.
Im seeming to have issues viewin Business Views that Im adding to the system. I also notice the following error messages in the stderr file... can someone shed some light on this? Also I notice that when I add a Business group shortcut to another Business View that has a router on it. I cannot link an interface from the Router to the Shortcut (network). Basically I want the business view to appear as Networks that have all the systems in it.. and the top business view would have only routers and

Notifications not being sent
I have the notifications set up and have tested the email server settings. I get the test emails but when there is an alarm on a server I do not get an email notifying me of the alarm. There is no error in the Notification event log. I saw a post about this that was made last year but the question was never answered. What do I need to do to get notifications working. Paul

DC security log
Hi I monitor the event logs on all my server with event log monitor and notification profile. It works on all of them but the logon logoff doesn't work on my 3 DC.It works for the other but not them. Do you have an answer??? Thanks
E-mail notification
Is there any way to have the email notifications repeat on a timed basis until an alert is either cleared or acknowledged? This would be useful for afterhours support for an unmanned datacenter. A single alert to an email account or sms messages can be overlooked, but not if it happens say every 5 minutes.

Monitoring Scheduled Tasks?
Was just thinking tonight that we have a few scheduled tasks which run, and usually we find out they didnt when we have 500+ users complaining. Just wondering if/how it is possible to monitor scheduled tasks for success using OpManager I am guessing it writes something to the event log when the job completes or fails and you could check for this event? I have never really looked into it.
remote polling
hello, I want to know if opmanager has the capability to do remote polling. What I mean by this is the capability to have an agent at a remote site that can monitor status for basically being able to determine if a vpn for site to site connectivity is up or down and be able to report to a central opmanager. I have a question on the Windows Service Monitoring... I did a brief install of OpManager Last night, then reinstalled Windows. I can not remember 100% what the options were under the Windows Service options were for adding a service. I thought the options were for a service name and then port number? Hi, 1.If I am going to monitor a server with SNMP enabled and want to see the Rx and Tx utilization. I have them enable by the resource monitors but i have waited for 2 days now and I'm tstill see nothing. What can be the problem?? 2. Hi I've got a few questions about Opmanager 5.5 1. I can enable SNMP on a server but if I do the same operations with the desktops, Opmanger don't regonize them as SNMP enabled devices. Does Opmanager don't support SNMP on desktops or does something goes wrong? 2. If I make a profile for notifications and I add it to a printer for example then it dissepears after a while if I look at the printer. If I then look at the notification profile section my profile is also gone and I must make a new one.
availability report of a business view

IBM xServers 220 and 225
We have multiple IBM xServers 220 and 225 that are not displaying CPU, MEM, Disk Utilization most of these are running Windows 2003 and 2000. On the same type machines that are running 2000 terminal server all utilization seems to be working. Any ideas.

system resources
I am evaluating this package but cannot use it because after several hours it takes up all of my system resources. I'm evaluating this on a 2.4G P4 with 512Mb of memory and WXP Pro. This is my desktop machine so e-mail IM and other apps are running. Task Manager shows 3 instances of Java running in which 1 is 100+ MB at all times. Is there an issue running the server and client on the same machine??
Lengthen Time Out ping time in monitoring
I've asked this question before, and i don't think op manager yet does this, but i was wondering if it might in the near future. The problem is we monitor several WAN links over ISDN, and under heavy traffic replys to pings sometimes take 5000ms or more. I've noticed opmanager will time out after about 1500ms, and mark the device as down, leaving us with several false alerts being sent out. Is there a way to increase the time out opmanager uses to ping devices?
