Issues with Discovery of Routers.
When I tell Opmanager to Discover a Device. In this case a Cisco router. I tell it to discover the IP address that I am wanting to be the routers IP address that opmanager uses to manage it with and the SNMP string like always. However even though the web front end says that its discovered the fact is that it does not ever get into the database because part of the discovery process tells Opmanager to query the IP networks of all interfaces of Routers to help populate the world with those networks. In the end, one of the networks that is on this new router is also already declared as being attached to another router somewhere else.
Furthermore since these are unmanaged network addresses that I dont care about. I tried to delete the instance of that unmanaged network from the Network Views tab within the Java client. Needless to say, it was rediscovered and placed back where i just deleted it from.
So is there a way to tell Opmanager to NOT try to populate the topology map with networks unless specificly told to do so?
Note: this will be a Major black flag in my company making a final purchase decision.
basically our company uses the same network in all branch offices for the VoIP phones. and because of that I cannot populate Opmanager with the Routers that these phones connect to.
