SNMP is enabled, but no response to SNMP queries
I am trying to monitor several servers, all have SNMP enabled in their services list, yet when I try to check the details of each one, it comes up with "No response to SNMP queries. ICMP is enabled." under Status. The location, contacts, etc. come up with "Does not respond to SNMP queries." Is this some setting in your software or do I have to enable/disable something on our servers? Thanks.

Service Desk Plus Ver 6 build 6005
I am trying to migrate my Service Desk to a new server. I have updated both to Ver 6 build 6005 then backed up the data on the old server, copied the backup file to the new server and tried to restore it. The restore will not complete. I get the following error message: at jave.lang.thread.run <unkown source> Unable to restore database : null, message from server : "Duplicate entry '1557106716-72004' for Key 1" How do I correct this?

OpManager MIB Browser Error
The OpManager MIB Browser displays an error message anytime I try to select a mib item ie: sysName. The error message is " ee [Object Error]" Has anyone ever seen this error or have an idea of the cause...I feel the browser is having problems reading the MIB files... Entries for the device are either partially added or removed
Then say "Click [here...] to remove and readd the device" but nothing happens. At the first time the device was added but after a couple minutes disappear and show this message and it doesn't allow me to readd the device.
Errors encountered in SOLARIS environment
1. Error in monitoring SOLARIS environment via SSH After supplying the username and password in the fields for OPManager to be able to monitor resources via telnet. We can't seem to get any of this to work. When we tried to login to the server via putty(using SSH protocol) we can invoke the commands used by OPManager to get the needed resoutrce. Testing email systems
We are running MSP Opmanager and were wondering if there is any solution for checking that email systems at our monitored clients are able to send and receive email. Whilst using Opmanager we can monitor the Exchange server and its services as well as the Internet connection there still may be other reasons why mail is not able to be sent or received. Whilst we can look at a solution external to Opmanager wed prefer to keep it within MSP Opmanager Any suggestions or ideas would be most appreciated
install opmanager and MSP central on same machine

Alert Threshold for SNMP traps
Good day. Is there a way to be able to set an alert threshold for a number of SNMP traps received. Instead of just raising an alarm using the SNMP trap processor for every event?. This is obviously a requirement as devices will be sending varied and custom types of SNMP traps, and it is possible that one single event needs to trigger an alarm. I am aware you can do custom monitors and place a threshold on the number of times a poll exceeds the threshold, but this is not on SNMP traps. What I am monitoring

Hello, I am running OpManager 6015 on CentOS linux. For some reason OpManger fails to start automatically anymore. It used to work perfectly. I have tried reconfiguring via: chkconfig opmanger on And still doesnt start. Though when I go into the folder /etc/init.d and execute: ./opmanager start It start opmanager up and it works. Here is the output of /var/log/opmanger.log, it says it failed to start MySQL daemon. Any ideas why? inside addon check Unable to start Mysql daemon Unable to create database
OM6: install with remote MSSQL2005 backend database?
Hi, I am trying to install Opmanager6 on a debian linux server. I want to do this with a backend database on MSSQL2005, just like I did with SD+. However during install there is no DB selection field (like in SD+) and I cannot find it in the GUI either after the default MYSQL install. On the features page on adventnet.com it states that this should be done by accessin g the DB Manager, but I cannot seem to find this tool. Can anyone tell me how to install (not migrate) OM6 on a MSSQL database? thanks,
Opmanager installing on Suse?
Long time ago Suse was not supported to the point it would not install/run properly. I was able to get it going once I believe. My question now is Opmanager able to be truly installed and run from Suse, or should I look at Fedora instead?

Threshold for disk space
Is there a way in OpManager build 6010 to have more than one threshold set for disk space? For instance ATTENTION at 80% used, TROUBLE at 90% used and CRITICAL at 95% used. using WMI monitors on same system. Thanks.
Failed to establish connection with web server...
Hi, at the moment we are evaluating OpManager6 premium + SDplus. Everything went fine for the last 3 weeks, but suddenly (yesterday evening) following error occured: We were not able to open the web interface of OpManager. After some investigations it seems there is a problem with the built-in webserver. The Apache Server was not running anmore. After the service being restarted by hand it went down immideatly without any error messages or eventlog entries. Now we tried to start the server again

Is there a documented method to run the netop manager process as a service under linux without having to hack up a pre-existing script in /etc/init.d? What do others do for startup? Custom Report
I am trying to set up a custom report to provide to a client. I'd like to generate a report which includes total traffic on a set of switch VLAN interfaces (Cisco 4509). Unfortunately, it seems the custom report wizard will only allow me to select a single interface - also, the list of interfaces is not complete. We are running build 6002 of the MSP version and I am generating reports from the central server.
URL Service Availability
We have a lot of URL we want to monitor using OPManager, however the front page of the site doesn't really indicate the availability of the service. We still need to do a logon to check if the service is up. Can this be supported somehow? This feature will be more helpful to check the service itself. Thanks
Opmanager on server hosting MSSQL and IIS
Hello I was just wondering if this would work. If I had a server with MSSQL and IIS already, could I install Opmanager on the same machine seperately without impacting the existing applications? I know Opmanager uses mysql, so that should not affect MSSQL, but if I have an existing IIS server, IM wondering do I only have to specify a different port to use the 80....? Thanks

Monitoring memory of AIX-machines
Hello, We use telnet to monitor our AIX servers. Monitoring the CPU goes fine: we get the correct values. However, Monitoring the memory does not monitor the thing we want. Instead of monitoring the Physical Memory, it monitors the SwapMemUtilization. Is there any possibility to monitor the Physical Memory? Maybe by changing the svmon-command? TIA!

Event log messages are losing their formatting. As a result they are very hard to read when long. Any way to preserve the formatting?

Hello, I just installed and configured OpManager on a win 2k3 server. I can access it from the server browser, however I cannot access it from my desktop. I have tried: Using the IP and port Using the servername and port Going into the httpd.conf and setting the "Listen to IP and port" Setting up a site in IIS and tying to point it to the Login page. Device Availability issue's
Hello, At the today's availability from servers it always says it has been down for 1-2 min. If i check the history for today than, it sometimes shows, 5 seconds unavaiable, or 10 seconds on certain amounts of times. I know that the server hasn't been down, and reports need to be sent to our customers. If the server hasn't been down and up and running, i want to show a 100% availability and not 98,087 % availability today. Is there anyway to change the polling or such for the todays availability

Which ports to allow monitoring through firewall?
Do I just need the following ports to allow OpManager to operate to devices on the other side of a firewall?: SNMP ports 161 (for agent) and 162 (for manager). WMI ports 445 and 135. ICMP used for testing reachability. Anything missing? Thank you.
OpManager will not start
After installing OpManager, the product will work, but after system reboot, the product stops working. It loads, but immediately shuts itself down. When trying to start it manually, it does the same thing. I tried going into the services section and changing the authentication information, but that does not seem to work either. Any suggestions?
Probe Specs
Hi All, We are interested in OpmanagerMSP which looks great and the option to install for clients on evaluation is an excellent way to prove the benefits. But ... the system reqs for a probe doing this are pretty steep since initially for minimum impact we would have to pop it on an existing PC/Server. It looks as though the published sys reqs are overstated - does anyone have a "real world" view on the sys reqs please. Many thanks in advance

New Probes don't register
Hi, We're using MSP 6003. When adding a new probe in the Server it is added to the Trial Probes (where all probes resists, strange, no mather wether I add it as a trial probe or a registered probe). When I install a new probe, the update to MSP6003 is loaded and installed well, but the probe does not register. Probe changes all IP adresses to 0.0.0.0
Hello, I noticed that for one probe the database was corrupted. Only 7 servers left out of the 80. Watched error logs and saw that since a specific time all IP adresses from servers are changing to 0.0.0.0 I talked to a Windows colleague, he stated that around that time our DNS server had servicepack 1 for Windows 2003 installed. Does anyone had this experience or an explanation.
