Problem with Op7 and ServiceDesk6
Hey, I added to my testing-server the ServiceDeskPLUS to test it with the new version of OpManager. It is working without any errors, but CPU load of the java.exe of the SD installation is permanently at more the 90% and slows down the system extremly. The memory usage is normaly around 90 to 100 megabytes which seems to be quite ok. With OpManager6 and SD6 there weren't such problems, have the configuration in to be adjusted to run "fine" again? Version 7 and Cisco 2811
Thank you for releasing OpManager ver 7. It looks promising. The first problem I faced today was when trying to add Cisco 2811 routers. I scanned a subnet that has 4 Cisco 2811 routers and all 4 routers were detected in the scan results. I have imported the routers but only 3 of them appeared in the Routers Infrastructure Snapshot. I tried to add the router manually and got the message that device was successfully added but still does not appear in any of the infrastructure views. Any idea what could
alarm switch off? - Server does not answer ....

OpManager v7 and Netscreen 208
Hi, I am having trouble importing a pair of Netscreen 208s in OpManager v7. I can detect them and it also says successfully imported but I can't see them on any view. I can also user MIB browser to query and get info from them. Just cant see or monitor them. I can detect and monitor them on OpManager v6. What could it be? Please help. Shareef
MSSQL Monitors
I have the premium version of OpManager and I am running build 6016. I added several MS SQL servers for monitoring and added the MSSQL WMI application monitor. While the monitor sees the databases on the server, I can not add any specific MSSQL monitors. When I click on add Monitor from a specific section I get get a page with very few options and can not see any monitors to add. I tried removing the server from OpManager and then readding it but that did not help. - Chris
License upgrade -not working
Hi, I had a permanet license for Exchange and Active Directory, and a temporal license for SQL. I have just received a permanent license for the three solutions: Exchange, Active Directory and SQL; howewer I have noticed that after I applied the new license in order to be able to see all the monitors, I have to rediscover and configurate all de servers again. I think this is not right. Is there another way to apply the license, and save all the configuration I have alredy done. Thanks

I must say that it has given us visibility into the network that we have not had before, so I am very happy with it. Interpretation of an exchange error
Hello, With Opmanager and pack exchange I had see that our exchange server had an error. The error is : "Current Message From MSExchange MTA ... threshold : violated ... last polled value : 631 messages". But the problem is that I don't how significate this error and how resolve it. newbie question: buffer hits
what does the buffer hit graph tell you? what is meant with small, large buffer, etc. sorry newbie. couldnt find anything on the web regarding buffer hits.
Configuring Thresholds
Im having some trouble understanding Thresholds. Say for example i want to set up a Threshold for used disk space on my exchange server if i go to the edit monitor page when i can configure Thresholds it say: 'Threshold allow you to set safe limit for the data collected for graphs. OpManager can be configured to send notifications if the limit is violated' and 'Threshold Limit (NUMBER) eg. 70 (or) 95 etc' i dont understand the eg. 70 (or) 95 etc section? is this a value in MB? or KB? or Kb or what?

Changing a device type yet same category
After discovering a network, I want to group them by changing their icon image to a different one. Instead of using "unknown" , I want to group them as e.g. Branch Machine. How do I do this? I was able to make one by adding images on the image folder and when i clicked the device type, it appeared. However, It is not working now. Thanks

Disk space monitoring and snmp issues
I'm currently trying to figure out now to get around two rather severe problems. 1. We currently have alarms set on our diskspace monitoring to alert us at 90%, this part is working fine so far. The problem we're experiencing is that we on occasion have disks that fill up and aren't out responsibility to clean out or we may need guidance on what needs to be compressed, etc... I our current setup the monitoring system shows a list of servers over the 90% threshold and updates the amount of free space

windows 2000 SNMP issue
I have one 2k server that will not tell me the free or used disk space amounts via SNMP. Anyone know what might cause this? when i test the monitor it comes back as OK. It reports the Free MB as 0 though. the drive has almost 477GB of free space. i have tried the other disk monitors and they all report 0 on that drive. Other drives report back just fine!

State Changed monitor
Hi, I was wondering if OpManager has the ability to trigger alarms on state changed for switches etc? For example we have ports that are active but have nothing plugged into them. and we want it to send an alarm when something gets plugged into it. and vice versa.

interface selection with notification - error
hello together, Version OPManager: 6016 during the email notification I cannot select the interface, the following error message appear: No managed interfaces/ports found for this device. the interface on the server can be selected however. do I have to still activate the interface for the notification or which the problem could be? the problem exists with all servers thank you for the answer. greets, Rico
Url Monitoring on port 8080 not working
Hi, i recently had to use the url monitor in opmanger to monitor site urls that were hosted in jboss and listening in port 8080. I am getting an error "The URL http://XX.XX.XX.XX:8080 is down, Reason : Connection time out". PS:- The ip has been masked for security reasons. The url monitor workd fine with the websites hosted in apache listening at port 80 on the same server. I think its because of the change in the port that the monitoring is failing. Can anyone help me get around this issue. Thanks
transfer to another system
Hi , I've trialed this software on my laptop and if we go ahead and purchase I'd be looking to transfer it to a server. Is it possible to transfer the database i.e all the approved devices in rogue detection etc, to another system or will I have to start from scratch again on a new machine?
Hardware Inventory = null
When viewing a server, for example, I click on the "Hardware Inventory" link on the right in the "Device Info" box and it comes up as "null". Does anyone have troubleshooting tips regarding this matter? FYI AdventNet - When using the "Windows Users List" and "Windows Groups List" in IE7, the frame that surrounds the tree-list does not automatically grow shrink when the trees are expanded and collapsed, which always hides the very information one is after. Event Monitoring missing most events!
Hi There, I have had op manager running for about a month now, monitoring six servers. So far i really like the product, but i'm getting really inconsistant results monitoring the windows event logs. Essentially opmanager just seems to MISS a lot of the errors or warnings in the application log and system logs on the servers it's monitoring.
