Back up and Restore didn't copy over threshold settings
Hi again, We just moved the software to a different system and all the devices migrated over just fine using the back up and restore process, but an automatic report we had, none of the past reports were brought over and neither were all of our threshold settings? Any ideas? Did I do something wrong? we would like to be able to recover from a failed server very quickly by re-installing the software on a new system and using the Backup .data file to restore.
Which Dell temp is OpManager monitoring with default probe?
I apologize for this lengthy question, but this is extremely important: What device temperature is the built in OpManager dell temp probe monitoring? My assumption is whatever Dell's OpenManage is reading. For example: 1) On PowerEdge Server A I look at OpenManage and it is reading the actual CPU temp with a max threshold of 80c. 2) On PowerEdge Server B (different model) I look at Dell OpenManage and it is reporting on the ambient temp of the system board, with a max threshold of 42c. why I recieve wrong OID when I define a custom monitor
help: I define a custom monitor, the snmpOid is .1.3.6.1.4.1.188.0.0.3 but I find openmanager send oid .1.3.6.1.4.1.188.0.0.3.0 to my application. not the oid .1.3.6.1.4.1.188.0.0.3 I am confused, thanks!
SNMP in 3COM routers
Hi All, I am using Opmanager v6.0. I have sucessfully added our core cisco router but failed to add branch 3com routers. Calculation of uptime becomes diffiult as i m unable to apply time restrictions to individual router. When i add it at port 163 it adds the router as a PC in place of Router. Do i have to do some extra setting in router or Opmanager. Please let me know Regards Hitesh Raul

when i access over the WebClient to the Central Server i get the following Security Warning... The Security Certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust... Do i need a Public Trusted Security Certificate for this Server?

I got an alarm generated in OpManager for one of my system. I have copied the message below. Kindly let me know why is it generated and what does it mean. ID=11707 Source=MsiInstaller Type=information Message=Product: Security Update (QuickTime 7.1.6) -- Installation completed successfully. 20070725104833.000000+330 Will it get generated for any installation or is it for MSI installation or is it only for Quicktime or is it for any patch that will update any software.
Device Unreachable
Hi, I am currently using opManager 7 running under Windows 2003 SP2 Standard Edition. When attempting to add out Nokia Firewall to opManager I recieved the message "Device Unreachable". I have tried updating the discovery.filter "ping = true" but that did not resolve the issue. I ran an snmpwalk from the opmanager server to the nokia firewall and I was able to pull the snmp information but I still cannot add the device from Admin --> Add Device.
Not Recieving Notification on Probe Down
We found that the notification Profile "Probe Down" was full of fields which were grayed-out and could not be edited. Although the Email fields were not grayed-out, and could be edited and saved, once a probe would go down, the fields would revert back to their previous values, and the notification would go to the wrong place. We tried creating a duplicate Notification profile, with the same settings but which emailed a different address; when we did this we found that the notifications for the probe
MSP 6004 update
Hi, I just updated OpManager MSP to version 6004. I see the new tabs for Inventory, Security and Tickets. I do not plan to use that for now. How can I remove those tabs, at least for users if not for all ?. Thanks for your help Gus

Drawing Topology - MSP Edition
Hi OPmanager support team, I'm impressed with OPManager MSP Edition, with Probe technology. I can discover remote network using probe but drawing topology is my problem. I read Documents of OpManager MSP Edition but I didn't found any thing about draw Customer's Topology automatically. Drawing Customer's Network Topology manually (by map/business view or infrastructure view) is unrealistic, in some case Would you please show me how to do it? Windows 2003 work - Windows 2000 does not? (SNMP)
I've setup OpManager v7 and my 2003 servers are working beautifully. However the Windows 2000 servers are not. OpManager sees them as SNMP enabled devices (blue star), but the monitor tests fail, no stats are gathered, etc. Is there something in Windows 2000 server that has to be done that 2003 doesn't require? *Note: if I turn on WMI then I am able to get info from the 2000 servers. But I want to use only SNMP - should work right? Community names are good, etc. Thanks!
CentOS Linux Server Performance Monitors Wont Work
Hello, I am running OpManager 7, and I am trying to monitor the local server, i.e. the server that is running OpManager. I added the server device, and everything seems to be good except performance monitors wont update. I put in the SSH account information, username, password, prompts, and everything is right. It even grabs the system desc: Linux BELVEDERE 2.6.9-42.0.10.EL... Any ideas what is causing this? Attached is a screen shot.
Get no Data frome the Probe
I can download the Probe and the Registration Zip File on the customer subnet. So i have access to the Central Server over https. I can also install the Probe normally together with the zip file. But i get no Data from this Customer. I found the following Event on the Central Server.... Adding Numerous Devices
Hello, I have a network on which I plan to use OpManager for monitoring. Using the discovery options to add devices would not work well in this situation as the only devices I would like to monitor are switches, and they are on a host of different IP ranges. Entering each range one-by-one or manually entering the individual addresses would simply take too much time. What I am wondering: is there a way to take a file with the relevant information (i.e. IP address, device type, switch model), delimitered

LeftHand Networks SAN SNMP MIBs
Has anyone out there had any experience monitoring a LeftHand Networks IP SAN? We have 5 NSM 150s configured in 2 separate clusters. I'm getting lost here trying to find the right MIBs and which ones to monitor. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Windows 2003 cluster monitoring
Do you plan to deleope or maybe already have special fetures that will enable an efficiant way to monitor cluster resources. Example: If I have a clustered disk resource - it will be available to one of the nodes on a specific time - so the other node will see the free space on the volume as 0. This makes it hard to configure thershhold of alerts on low disk space. Also, there are special counters and resources important for cluster like MSCS , quorum, failover occured etc.

Alarm for avalibility
I am fairly new to OPmanager, but so far have had little problems with configuration I monitor a clients router for Up/Down and response time, I cannot get SNMP access When the router goes down I get a email alert, but when the device comes back up I do not. I see that this event did not create an alarm, so I understand why I do not getting a cleared message - but what is the best way to get a device that only support ping to send you an clear email message Thank you, Mark
MSP Opmanager Modem based SMS
Hello, I upgraded to MSP 6004 and want to try Modem based SMS. Upgrade went fine but when I choose SMS Server Settings I only got a blank screen with the text Error. I'm using a Wavecom M1306B which works fine using Hyperterm on com1. Can I edit SMSServer.conf manually if I want a quick test. Thanks, Ari van Asseldonk
Unable to change "Status" from Attention to Clear
Just a quick problem and I'm sure this can be cleared easily. I hae several devices that during the initial setup and installation of OpManager had alarms which I just deleted. Now those devices show their status as being "Attention" (little yellow exclamation icon). If you go into the alarm page there are no alarms listed for these devices. And if you show all alarms, any alarms listed there are clear and acknowledged. Is there some way I can clear the status on these devices? Thanks.

Trigger test alarm?
Is there any method in OpManager MSP to trigger a test alarm on a device, in order to verify that alarms are being delivered and processed through the notification profiles correctly? In a previous product we used, we could, for example, trigger an alarm in the monitoring system to simulate that a router went down. Thanks! --Scott

OpManager 7 for AIX memory Monitoring
Hi, Support Team Here have a problem about Memory Monitoring for AIX 5L V5.3. I used host-resource-mib->mib2->host->hrstorage->hrmemorysize to query the AIX's memory size. the dialogue box show me those. "hrMemorySize.0:2621440" this value only have 2.5GB. but my system is 3.5GB physical memory, normally should be 3670016. did i use the wrong mibs? or something i need to modify. by the way thx for ur support BR, Rino Yeh
Cisco VPN Concentrator 3000 wrong oid
I have added two Cisco VPN concentrators 3000 and after two days of monitoring, I cannot get any data apart from network interfaces utilization. So, I have checked oids used for Memory,Cpu and active sessions and they are oids for Cisco Pix 501, no wonder they not work with Concentrator 3000. Is this a bug? I have thought that Concentrator 3000 was supported "out-of-box" but it seems not. Is there any solution apart from creating custom rules with right oids? Devices are set correctly with SNMP.

IP Availabiliy
On the summary view of IP Address Manager, the IP addresses are listed diag and are too big for the bar char on the x axis that the address xxx.xxx.x.0 the "0" is wrapped to the next bar.

MSDE 2000, 2005 Express or SQL Server 2000 ?
We have had many problems getting SD+ (6006 -> 6008) to work reliably: Scheduled Tasks stop running, 6008 Restore corrupts database, etc. SD+ was installed on French Windows XP PRO SP2 with database on French Windows 2003 Server SP2 with French SQL Server 2000. Support tells us to reinstall everything in an English environment: From the logs it looks like MSSQL and/or OS are in Native language setup. This makes the Server to hang (or) stop service frequently. The native settings in MSSQL/Os is not
