How do I change the 6 (3x2) default status graphs/charts? I would like to replace the "Disk Utilization" with current Load (Linux). Is this possible?

Unable to clear Alarms (Licensed build 7024)
Hi, Just lately we have been unable to clear any alarms. If you go to the Alarms page you can select any alarm and acknowledge the alarm without any problems, however if you then select an alarm and click on "Clear" the page will go blank and not refresh, where previously you would get a page refresh and the text stating that the Alarms had been cleared. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Cheers, Matt
How do I break the "addMonitors" list into groups?
Is there any way to break the "addMonitors" list into sub groups, like windows, linux, unix, etc? I do not like the fact that there are 3 "CPU Utilization" and I have know way to tell what one is for what OS.
Issue when you decide to unmanage a device
Hi, I would like to stop to monitor few device by modifying the status from Manage to unmanage, I need to do that because I need to keep data history for these devices. When I idi that, I continue to receive alarm regarding services down etc, I don't want to remove service from device snapshot for reason mentioned before. Is it possible to correct it to stop to send alarm when the status of a device is unmanaged specially for escalation. We would like to do it also for ours printers (156 printers)
sub groups under home --> ups --> need sub groups!
How do I add sub groups under home "Infrastructure Snapshot"? In my environment we have 500+ UPS's. The icon view just makes a mess of things. Any ideas how to gain access to "Select View" found under servers? It would be nice if we could break the UPS's into subgroups, like building, room number... Any ideas on how to do this?
Autmoatical fill up oflist of subnets in Admin - Global Env.
Is there some way to automatically fill up list of subnets in Admin - Global Environment (via some SNMP scan tool or something like that). After entering one SNMP string of one of our routers (gateway) and performing various SNMP scans, we've got list of subnets in Admin - Global Environment section full of networks which we didnt enter manually. Bandwidth monitor - traffic statistics on serial port
We cannot see traffic statistics on serial port of router, only on ethernet port. We see serial interface and subinterface in tool, but in and out traffic is zero. Router is cisco 1800.
Unable to query Disk Utilization from OPManager
Hi, I am unable to query the value of .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6 (hrStorageUsed) for Disk Utilization from a RHEL3 machine running net-snmp. From the standalone mib-browser that comes with OpManager, I am able to do get and get next from the same host. I do not have any issues with CPU and memory utilization. How can we get the disk utilization to work properly? There is also no issues with the storage free SNMP variable. Thanks, Uris

We are receving large number of alerts from Rogue Detection Tool, about detection of newly discovered devices. Devices are from subnets which are not listed in Global Environment section. How this is possible?

Create a Custom Monitor for Telnet
Hi all, I have an application that respond to telnet requests. When I test this application with OpManager I have that the server doesn't release the TCP session because it need a control-charater to exit the session. This cause slow response time from the server. My question: is there a method to create telnet monitor that after the Syn-Syn/ack-Ack sequence send a charater to quit the session (example the "q")? thanks in advance, Dario
Is OpManager speed deficient?
Hi all, I am running the latest version of OpManager in a 32-W2K3 SP2 environment. Database is MySql option which came with OpManager. The hardware is an HP Proliant DL380 G5, Quad Dual Core 3.2GHZ, 4GB RAM. The database has been disk separated physically and is stored on a Mirror array all by itself. Logging into OpManager takes between 10-30 seconds. Viewing any device in OpManager can take from 60-300 seconds. I have less than 500 devices currently being monitored. Can someone please explain to
CPU Utilisation
Hi All, I am new to the system, my question is when i viewed the cpu utilisation monitor and for some of my servers that has 2 quadcore cpu it doesn't show the data but just the graph. then in the other servers with less cpu the system displays the graph as well as the raw data below it. Monitoring devices from other networks
Hello all, I'm new to opmanager and I'm testing it. I'm monitoring about 20 servers from my local network, 10 switches and 4 firewalls. All is working fine except the devices that are in the branch offices. I can discover them succesfully but I cannot monitor at all, for example the windows server 2003 servers that are in the branch offices. I can discover them but I can't monitor the disk partitions for example. I only have this problem with that devices. All devices in my local network are monitored
constant timeouts
hello, we have a copy of opmanager premium with 1 user license and unlimited devices. both opmanager 6 and the newly upgraded opmanager 7 seem to regularly return us to the login page sometimes for no reason. this becomes tedious when working with multiple devices + windows. is there any way to keep the session alive? regards, - kyle
importing snmp mibs
Hi! I've got a dell ml6000. I imported the MIBs but I want to be able to use the snmp traps as performance traps but they won't shop up. I can add individual traps or bulk traps but I'd rather just use the traps I imported. thx
Device Icon incorrect after change type
Hi, I have discovered a device (that I do not have SNMP access to) and this devices is a perimeter device that I just wish to monitor its response time on our network. Upon discovery the device has appeared in the desktop category as expected. I have drilled into the device and changed its type to Router but the device icon on Business Views and other views still show it as a desktop machine. If i drill into the device the device shows with its correct router image. Any ideas? 4NDY
Printer Page Count
On our printers (HP 4000, 4050, 4100, 4200 plus a few others) we cannot view the page count. The Pages Printed monitor appears to use the correct SNMP OID (from what I know about SNMP OID's which is very little!) but gives a total 'since last checked' rather than a running total. Is it possible to add or alter a counter to show these and other counters that the HP printers have? Like pages remaining or since last maintenance? "add monitors" does not appear to have relevant monitors listed. Cheers,

Monitoring Solaris and AIX
I already configure our Solaris and AIX servers SNMP configuration and tested it by OPManager7 and it passed the test procedure. Why it cannot get data from the servers eventhough SNMP configuration is already OK. When I configure its CLI parameters ant test it OK also. It can now get data from the servers. Then i removed again the CLI config and it cannot get data. Selection for the parameters are OK (by SNMP or CLI). Why it cannot get data using SNMP only. Is OP7 can only get data from those machines

Hello! My problem is as follows: I am monitoring a VM (Virtual Machine) server and all of its VM clients on it. I set the field "Dependency" at all VM clients with the VM server. Last weekend the server wasn't available for some time. The "today's availability" of the clients was shown red (shut down). Until now all works fine. That was four days ago. Now two of the clients are still monitored as "shut down" in "today's availability", but they get all other snmp data like Disk Utilization, CPU Utilization

Problem adding "Performance monitors"
Hello, I'm using OPMANAGER Build 7025 and already have a hundred devices in monitoring. I recently had a DB Crash, with no more business views so i re-load my backup (3 days old) and all went ok. But now, when i try to add a new device, i just can't add performance monitors... I choose CPU, memory, disk usage (using WMI as usual and with correct credentials) and it returns me the "Exception occured in savePolledData api" message... Moving Away from AdventNet?
I've purchased licenses for OpManager, ServiceDesk, OpUtils, and Firewall Analyzer. I've renewed these regularly and even used Site24x7. You can't beat AdventNet on price - nor usually on features. But I am extremely frustrated by one aspect of AdventNet which has to change - or will result in myself discontinuing utilization of the companies' products. Namely, when a critical problem with the software is discovered it needs to be rectified immediately - not wait two or three months for a hotfix.
Switch Port Mapper
On our switches it only shows the ports that have a device plugged into it. It does not show any of the open ports. I am evaluating the product and I cannot justify buying it if this does not work. Thanks, Steve Mize stevemize
SQL services not running with anti-virus turned on
I'm curious if anyone has had issues running their OpManager server with SQL and an anti-virus program. We recently installed nod32 anti-virus and soon after had problems with SQL services not starting up. Is it possible to have the Cisco configuration backup retain more than a single backup of the startup and running configurations? It would be very nice to schedule a backup every 24 hours and have the display show each backup instead of it overwriting the previous backup. Also, is it possible in the Bandwidth Manager to write in a description for the interface being monitoring instead of just having the interface name? Finally, can the unit of measure be changed in the Bandwidth Monitor to use kbps
Custom tool to report firmware version
Forgive me if this is an ignorant question but I have a requirement to gather firmware versions from all my servers (Windows, Linux and Solaris). Would it be possible to use the custom tools feature to do this? I am not familiar enough with snmp to know. It doesn't seem to show it in the server monitoring system snapshot.
WMI fails on Windows 2003
I'd just like to share this with you. I've been having problems with WMI failures on some servers but not others. After troubleshooting this with Jason in the OpManager team we found that the reverse DNS was incorrect. After correcting the PTR record WMI was fine. Example Forward DNS Server name: w2k3-server1 IP: 172.16.2.1 Reverse DNS 1.2.16.172.in-addr.arpa Name: w2k3-server2 * * The reverse DNS should resolve to w2k3-server1. To correct this delete the incorrect PTR record Run ipconfig /registerdns
devices disappear
I'm having a weird issue. When I add a new device, it doesn't always map to the correct device type. So, when I go and change the device type, the device simply disappears. I got so sick of it that I blew away my OpManager install over the weekend and started from scratch. Same thing. Anybody else seen this?
