NLB Cluster IP
I am using OpManager 7200 and trying to configure it monitor my 2 web servers. The web servers are load balanced. When I discover the servers, OpManager is using the load balanced IP for the interface. When I discover it on server 1, it adds it to server 1, when I discover it on server 2, the interface disappears from server 1 and moves to server 2, and vice-versa. I read in a post from 2005 that this issue was going to be fixed in a future version with the ability to manually add/override each interface.
Device with Virtual IP?????
I am showing 3 ports (out of 1500) in Switch Port Mapper desiganted as having "Device With Virtual IP" . I have physically looked at the end hosts and for the life of me cannot figure out why they would be getting classified as such. Any ideas?
Alert Upon Successful Config file Retrieved
Is there anyway to set OpUtils 5 to email alert when configurations are successfully retrieved from switches/routers? Or email on failure?

Config File Manager Backup Hourly
Would it be possible or is it possible to setup the automatic backup scheduler to run every hour. Also, is it possible to have OpUtils send an email when the backup has completed. Thanks, Earl
Some "magic" with OpManager 7502
We are trying OpManager 7502 w/MySQL db so we found some magic devices in our network: 1) Strange server - it has no Network interfaces after Discovery. After pressing Rediscover on Interfaces tab it SHOW TWO ACTIVE NICs, after pressing Add OpManager says "added successfuly" but after that there is still no Interfaces on this server. If we DELETE this whole server from OpManager we cannot add it back again not via IP address, not via it's name. OpManager says "added successfully" but no server appears
memory
I am using the monitor " memory utilization" for a server Redhat enterprise 4.0. The threshold value constantly is exceeded even if the processes use only a minimal part of the memory. This is a disk cache problem. Is it possible to use the memory utilization monitor without the disk cache?
Login Issues
I recently updated to the newest service pack of OpManager now my remote clients can not log in. It re-populates the user name and password and will not allow them to log in. If I go to the server that OpManager is installed on it will allow me to log on right away. Anyone seen this? What is the cause and the solution to fix this?
Logging out without stopping the server?
The server runs on a Linux system. It starts up on reboot, but sometimes we have to login and shut the server down and restart it. I've tried using the init.d/opmanager script that you guys gave me, and also /OpManager/bin/StartOpManagerServer.sh & . Either way, when I log out, I get Internal Server Error, which means httpd is still running, but something else is dead. Shouldn't it daemonize?

7205 Upgrade Concerns/questions
Support I am currently on Build 7102. 1) Can I just apply the 7205 Hot Fix or do I have to apply the other builds/hot fixes first? 2) I noticed a few other have had a problem with upgrading this new Hot Fix and I am concerned and am wondering if these issues of the Blank Screen "ERROR" message has been addressed. 3) If I have problems with this can I restore back to 7102? Please let me know as soon as you can. I plan on doing this upgrade in 1 week. Thanks for your time and assistance in this matter.

Business views dleted but still listed in reports lists
Hello, I deleted all business views that I created in the past in order to reorganize them but now when I open report tabs, I see in the drop down list all business views names that I deleted previouly. Discovering devices shows most of them as "unknown"
Hi when i discovered my network, it found about 90 devices, but 70 of them are unknown. why is that? i have both windows and snmp enabled. your quick response will be appreciated. thanks

Memory used about 400-500 Mo
Hi, I'm testing lastest version of OpManager this week under virtual machine (ESXi 3.5) with Spiceworks installed, SNMP service and other Netgear tools. VM is under XP Pro SP3 Fr. After default install (with MySql), memory used climb from 250 MB to 700 MB. The task manager indicate no process with so much memory. Leaving OpManager (right click in tray bar) solve the problem. Starting it again, memory goes full. any idea ?

Hello, I already own NetFlow Analyzer and DeviceManager. I run both of these on separate virtual machines on a very large VMware ESX cluster and have no problems. I'd like to deploy OpManager because my current NMS has a lot of issues. However, I'd like to consolidate some things for ease of management. Can I run OpManager, NetFlow Analyzer, and DeviceManager all on the same system? I would be monitoring about 250 nodes with OpManager, 250 interfaces with NetFlow Analyzer, and only 10-20 devices
Unmanaged devices sending notification msg and other errors.
Hi I've been using OpManager for quite some time now. But now I'm really thinking of changing to something else. This program just does what it likes. For instance: 1) I have set a Cisco switch to unmanaged, as we are doing tests that can cause quite some error messages. This worked fine for a week or two. All of a sudden, I'm receiving error messages from this switch. When I go to the switches map, the switch isn't there. Instead one of my Citrix servers appears ?!?!? OK, set the switch to managed,
Unmanage and re-manage multiple devices with minimum effort?
Hi, We use OpManager to monitor some devices on our network that are only online for a few days each month, the rest of the time we have to unmanage them to avoid receiving tons of alarms polluting the system. The problem is that unmanaging (and then re-managing for the few days we need it) all those devices (around 100) one by one is a huge pain, so is there a way to do that for all the concerned devices at once? Hi. I am evaluating the OpManager 7, and when i configure the e-mail alert, i would like to receive just one e-mail for each alert. URL Monitoring: Some via proxy and some via direct.
I have a question regarding URL monitoring via proxy server. I have some sites that are external and require proxy server to get to them. Rest are internal http applications that do not require proxy server to get to them. Is there a place to configure proxy server per URL ? Also, I added a proxy server to monitor external links, now I cannot monitor internal network links that do not need proxy to connect to. I am unable to remove the global proxy server configuration via web gui. I cannot find

a way to shutdown/restart certain monitors through a script?
We use OpManager's URL monitoring feature, and each time we push a new upload to our site, OpManager sends a URL-down alert, which it actually is down during the upload and OpManager's doing exactly what it�s supposed to be doing. If possible, we'd like to run a script on OpManager to shutdown, then a set period of time later, restart the URL monitoring, thereby stopping the URL alerts from happening because of the uploads. Because our uploads are also ran from a script, we could incorporate this

Hello, I'm working on reports side and I discovered that TOP n reports are not working. In troubleshooting part it is mentionned that SNMP need to be activated. quote To view the CPU utilization, Memory Utilization, Disk Utilization, Interface Traffic, Interface Utilization and Interface Errors reports, you need to have SNMP installed in the managed devices. DHCP Scopes - number of free IP addresses
Hi, I have uploaded a MIB called DHCP-MIB.mib. Using the MIB Browser functionality i was able to query a DHCP server and retrieve for each scope the correct number of free and used IP addresses (ENP-4522.jpg). I have added this OID from the MIB in my W2003 template and apply it to the DHCP server. After a couple of days I have checked and seen that the answer to my queries for specific scopes is totaly wrong: it is 0 or several millions (ENP-4523.jpg). Memory & disk utilization shown wrong
Memory, Disk utilization value wrong shown for Novell Open Enterprise server. On the OpManager Memory and Disk Utilization always show 100% usage. On the server memory usage is about 65%. Above OID is configured for the disk utilization monitor. But this OID is walking memory usage tree. Why memory usage tree configured for disk utilization Any reply would be appreciated Thanks Amaraa
