I upgrade my OPmanager fron version 7 to 8. Then added the Service pack 2 and later the hotfix for the vmware monitoring. I observed that after the upgrade i couldnt monitor the CPU, memory, and other details of my CISCO devices. Kindly explain what may be the cause of this issue. Thank you.
Adding devices even if they are not reachable
Hi! Is there a possibility to add some devices which are actually not reachable? I'd like to create a new device in OpManager and prefill it with some details. When the device will be connected to the network I just want to click on "Manage" or something like that. Hope you can help me. Kind regards, Mok

Alarm Problem
Hi I am using Opmanager Build Number 8002 version. I have a simple question in my error message for router it says like: sysUpTime.0: 23 days, 19 hours, 22 minutes, 3 seconds. , snmpTrapOID.0: .1.3.6.1.6.3.1.1.5.3 , ifIndex.10105: 10105 , ifDescr.10105: GigabitEthernet0/5 , ifType.10105: ethernetCsmacd , .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.20.10105: down , .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1. However for server it just says it is probably down or busy or something not respoinding for 5 polls why is this so and how do i make each
Microsoft user cals and op manager on windows servers?
We want to use windows server 2008 to run op manager. Do you know if windows user cals would be required? Are any of the objects scanned or pinged or otherwise monitored authenticating to the server? The question Microsoft will ask is: are these nodes authenticating on the windows server? Well ... are they? I have noticed others who have used microsoft servers for opmanager ... Any opinions out there?
Syslog Rules.
Hi, I'm trying to receive alarms from syslog messeges, but OP doesn't seem to be receiving the logs. I'm sending the logs from cisco switches, it is working on Eventlog Analyzer. I'm running Op in linux. Is there anything to do on the Linux OS?
Edit Monitor Screen
A suggestion that I propose. When on the edit monitor screen it would be nice to know which device I am currently working on when I am editing it. It would be nice to display the device name somewhere on the page. I have included a screen mock up as a suggestion. Thanks, Joe

OpManager constantly stops working
Our installation of OpManager, which is a fresh install of both Server 03 and OpManager, continously stops working. This has been a problem since we starting using the product about 2 years ago, and is very frustrating when I get alerted of a problem by an end user instead of the product we paid to notify us. We are on the latest patch, except for the one that was just released. When it stops working, the server itself is functional, but I have to either restart the server or restart the services.
Is there a Netcool probe for OpManager
Hi, we want to be able to send events/traps from OpManager to Netcool Omnibus. Is there a probe to be able to achieve this?
Mib Browser - Unable to load: SNMPv2-CONF
SNMPv2-CONF mib is readily available on the i-net. So it is common enough, however I can't get this mib to load in opmanager. My goal is to create trap processors for RAMSAN.mib, one of it's dependent mibs is SNMPv2-CONF. I'm thinking the reason I can't read the traps in RAMSAN.mib, is due to being unable to parse SNMPv2-CONF ?? I'm uploading RAMSAN.mib here, can you tell me if you are able to load this into opmanager, or if you have a workaround for me. Thanks cfb
Device Template for Thread Number
Hi, we've evaluating your product. We need to monitor total "thread number". We have a thread number baseline for every our server. With another external snmp tool I know that SNMP OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.1.4.2.0 and I would like to configure this monitor in device template so as I can attach it on every each server. Unfortunately, from Admin / Device Template I wasn't able to create new desired monitor. It would be fine to browse MIBs making use a find tool in all mib trees by oid.... How to?

Hi All, I've recently upgraded to OpManager version 7201 and interested in using SNMPv3 in our Cisco environment. I have tried configuring this on a test router and OpManager but i'm not getting much joy. Has anyone got any experiences with this that they can share. Many thanks Paddy
Monitor ESX servers
I enable snmp on ESX4 so Opmanager can monitor the ESX. Know Opmanager can recognize the ESX. but it can`t monitor the other modules like CPU usage, memory usage ect ect. I think I have a problem with snmp authentication. I get a message from Opmanager that I need to chek the community name or string. could someone help me with this essue.
Domain Controllers View
We have OpManager without the Active Directory Monitoring add on. When adding a Domain Controller they are added to the Domain Controller group in OpManager but when we try to view the server we get a message "Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed" and can not proceed to view any of the server details. How can we monitor these servers in this case? Thanks
user profiles losing rights to assigned machines/bussiness views
Hi, I administer/manage the Opmanager installation in our firm. I've assigned custom business views to co-workers with certain devices assigned to them within their businessview. Sometimes, I've no clue what could be causing this, they lose the rights to see the details page of a certain device or the rights to their entire businessview. The only way I can solve the issue is by deleting the device from the businessview, save the view, edit again, add the device again, save the businessview. Does

Interface Usage over Time Report
I have been looking at all of the reports and have yet to find one that I deem appropriate for what I am looking to do. What I am looking for is a report that can give me the usage of a particular interface over a timeframe (ex. Last Month) with a decent bar graph. Say that I have an internet connection on a router (10MB) and I would like to see it's usage over the course of a month to see how many times it spiked at 100% usage or something like that. This would help me see if we are utilizing it

Hi everyone I got some problem with accessing into OP8 yesterday night. I checked Event log on the server, It said the OP8 was terminated yesterday afternoon. I tried to bring it back by restarting the managengine services and run the repairDB.bat and reinitialDB .bat. But none of them working. Can anyone give me some idea what happen is this? Is database corrupted again?

OpManager DE - Temperature gauge not working for Cisco 3700 Series Routers
HI, It was noticed that the OpManager DE is showing the temperature gauge as "n/a" for Cisco 3700 Series routers but it works perfect for Cisco 2800 Series etc. Did any one face the same, appreciate if some one could help to solve this. Kris
Migrate opmanager to iis
Now opmanager is running on the default apache server but i want it to run on IIS. Is this possible without deinstalling opmanager? Also when i want to change the database from mysql to sqlserver2005 i get an error : host or port fails(localhost, 1433). Anybody?
utilize custom mib?
Is it possible to monitor a software package that uses SNMP but runs on a port other that 161? I have a software package that runs on my servers already monitored by OpManager on port 161. The software package runs on another port (199) with it's own mib. How can I add this information to the servers existing snapshot page? What I am asking is can you monitor an additional SNMP port on the same snapshot page as the one being monitored over 161? Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I would like to test that users could log-in to web. If they dont I want to get notice. Could you give me more information what I should fill in request parameters. ESX 3.5 Virtual Machine Email Alert Only Showing Machine Name for One CPU Core?
We monitor our ESX VI3 clusters with OpManager and there seems to be a glitch in the alerting for virtual machines with more than one CPU assigned. Example: DatabaseServer01 is assigned 4 CPU and during the course of daily operation, some action causes said CPU's to breach the assigned threshold of 95%. We receive 4 email notifications about this breach, but only one of them actually contains the VM name: Message: CPU Utilization of VM for .707 is 96 %, threshold value for this monitor is 95 %Device:

Error Parsing MIB:NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB
I'm attempting to add monitoring for NetApp FAS960, but when uploading the MIB the following error is encountered. Error parsing MIB:NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file D:/Program Files/AdventNet/ME/OpManager/./mibs/NETWORK-APPLIANCE-MIB The error occured at the line no: 11272 ,column: 28. The identifier should not startswith number or special character. The line in question doesn't seem out of the ordinary to me. Could I get some assistance?
Installation documentation
Hi, I wonder why is there no detailed documents available for Linux installation. OpManager is not something that works out of the box, and is a bit childish to sell a product without proper documentation. There are some step-by-step instructions available on the Internet, but nothing official. I don't get this. Is this on purpose or? Want to sell serious product? Do the damn documentation and do not let people spend days if not even months trying to figur out what and how is to be installen on SuSE
Dashboard Widget Feature Request
On the Dashboard Widget for "All Interfaces Bandwidth Utilization" it would be nice to add an "Interface Bandwidth" column so when you see the receive and transmit values (which are percentages) you new what the total interface speed was. I have attached pictures of how I thought it could look like (dashboard.jpg). The value is actually on the individual interfaces property page (interface.jpg) Thanks, Joe

Monitoring MSSQL Average Lock Wait Time
Hi, We are using OPManager to monitor for Average Lock Wait Times on Microsoft SQL Server, what would be great is if we could monitor a specific type of instance value rather that the average times of all of the lock type instances together. Specifically I would like to be able to setup alerts based upon the Page (Average Lock Wait Time) value. Is there a method of acheiving this level of monitoring or is it only possible to monitor the average value of all lock wait time instances.
