opmanager 8720 not sending email
upgraded from 8052 to 8720 and lost the ability to send emails. after trying to test notification profiles and trigger alerts, found that alarms were being generated but not sent. rolled back to 8052 and email alerts are good once again
Backup/Restore of OpManager 8022 clears the check for alarm clear notifications
We recently moved OpManager build 8022 from one server to another. The backup/restore procedure copied everything over, except the check for "notify when the alarm is cleared". All of our alerts should send clears, but I don't see any way to reset this other than to go into each device, go into each notification profile for that device, and check the box. For 150 devices, with between 3 and 5 notifications each, this is a week-long project. Is there a way to check this for everything, through a

Rediscovery problem + Availability report error
I got three problems with OpManager: 1) I've got a bunch of switches where clicking "rediscovery" doesn't do anynthing. The interfaces are simply not added to the device. 2) I've read about a working solution that should by available in the customer portal, but I don't have a login there (besides having bought OpManager). 3) My reports and dial graphs doesn't show availability information - the only say that the device is not being monitored. Could someone help me?
Web Client
I am trying to use the OpManager 8 trial version but when I start the web client, it opens a blank IE window. How can I resolve this so I can start evaluating the trial.
Proxy master flag being ignored?
Hi All, I'm having a problem with OpManager where, we used to use a Proxy Server but have discontinued use. We've changed the default gateway on the OpManager server from the Proxy Server to our new (non-proxy) gateway box. However, all our external URL monitors are now failing. I went into the Admin module and unticked the "Enable Proxy" flag and tested the external URLs again and am still getting "The URL http://www.chemalert.com.au/ is down, Reason : Host Unavailable". Yet I'm able to log onto
Exception in thread "TRAPINPUT"
I am configuring my trap.parsers file, and every time I change the file, I get the Exception in thread "TRAPINPUT" error in the stderr*.txt file.
Need old URL monitor reports
I updated this morning to the newest version of ManageEngine. Now I need to be able to get the old URL monitor reports for one of my URL's but since the update required me to uninstall the old to install the new I don't see how I can get those old reports. Is there a way to get those old URL availibility statistics or reports? I'm in dire need of help on this. Thanks, Stressed

"virtual devices"
Hallo, I just upgraded to version 8.72 and want to use the new "virtual devices" feature. I already added our ESX3.5 servers to OpManager while still using 8.5. They were listed under servers. I now moved one of them to the category "virtual devices". But the host and the VMs don't show up there. I also can't add them there, as they are already in the system. What is the correct way to move them? Thanks Robert

Cisco Switch Port Display Name
I've noticed Opmanager recognizes my port descritions when I first add a switch. I've yet to figure out how get Opmanager to recognize that I've changed a port description. I've tried performing a rediscovery on the Interfaces tab, but this procedure indicates that no changes have been made. Thanks,
Cannot see any IP Addresses of computers
G'day, We are trying to see which IP addresses are connected to a specific switch port, however after scanning the switch we still dont see any IP addresses listed. In fact only half the connected PCs dont even have a MAC address showing. We have HP ProCurve 5406zl switches, which I believe also act as a router. The management of them is performed from VLAN 1 which has a different Subnet and IP range to the VLAN 5 which all the computers are connected to. Would this make a difference? I.E.
Restore to backuped folder
I made o copy of the OPUTILS directory before i performa an upgrade to 58001. I need to fallback to the copy. i STOPPED the managengine service but can rename the OPUTILS dir because it is in use. How do i completely shutdown the managengine?
Problem adding 3Com 5500 Router
Hello... Has anyone had any luck or know what I need to do to get my 3Com 5500 Routers working in OpUtils? I've entered the IP address of the router, V2c and the SMNP Read Community string, I'm using Telnet as the CLI connection. I've tried using both HP and Cisco as the vendor name. I know my username and password is correct, but regardless it keeps telling me it 'Login failed: Password or Prompt are incorrect!" Any help is appreciated! :)
How does an existing customer get build 58001 of OpUtils?
I see a link on the downloads page to get version 58001 of the OpUtils application if I'm currently running version 57000 ... 57003. There is nothing for a current 58000 installation. When I download and install the HotFix package, I get a message stating that it is not valid for the version I am currently running. I saw a post from February stating that the link would be provided in an email, but when I hunted down the email and clicked on the link, it took me to the same download page I get to

Upload Config File not working
I am trying to upload a config using the "upload config file" option in the upper right corner of the Config File Manager main page. I saved the config from the device, using the oputils .config file type. I opened it in notepad++, edited 3 lines, and saved it back to my desktop. I attempted to upload it using the "upload to single device" tab. it appears to do nothing when I click on the upload tab. I also attempted it from the "upload to multiple devices" tab but only sending it to one device.

is it passable for this to monitor Mac OS X if yes what sort of features are there? Has anyone done this? what do you you think of using it to monitor Mac's is it hard to setup? if you cant is it been planed for the future approx when will it be available? Thanks, Aaron

Dear all, I use OpManger without the VmWare & MSSQL options, I have downloaded the last version because I would like to test these options. Vmware : When I try to add Virtual host, I have this error message : An error occurred during the discovery of ESX. Contact support@opmanager.com MSSQL : when I add a new server with MSSQL 2005, OpManager doesn't detect MS SQL. In the forum I saw that SQLserverAgent must be started but I haven't this service in Windows services. I have created snmp & WMI credentials
Upgrade to 8720 Broke GUI
Recently upgraded to OM 8720. The upgrade seemed to work fine but now there are no links across the top to the other sections of OM? Its juts blank, no "Intro", "Dashboard", "Maps", "Alarms", "Admin", or "Reports? Server is Centos 5.5x

OP Manager Disk Utilization Worng Information
Hi , I have OPM , with build number 8050 . I noticed that the in snapshot dial , the Disk Utilization information is wrong in both the graph and even in the monitor itself . I tried to make a new custom SNMP monitor to Monitor Disk Utilization and I used the same OID of the original one , but I got totally different results , I had a table of multiple values. can you please help me on that Thank you

ESXi monitoring?
Is there a way to monitor an embedded ESX server? It doesn't seem to be possible, and frankly I am surprised I have not seen the question asked here. One of the reasons we bought OpManager was because of the ability to monitor ESX servers. Just so nobody is confused, I am talking about the ESX hypervisor that is it's own OS, not running on Windows. Please advise if this is possible or not. Rob
automated network mapping?
Hi, Are any of the opmanager products able to create a physical layer network map (visio style)? I've been looking for solutions and i've found plenty of logical map creators but only two physical maps (ciscos network assistant, but its limited to 50 devices and a product by codimatech). It would be nice to have something that plugs into opmanager and draws the business views. If there is no managenengine solution could anyone suggest an alternative? thanks. Matt
Can OpManager to "auto-layout" of all devices?
I am evaluating OpManager and I really like the product for many reasons. I just find it extremely cumbersome to draw all the maps myself. The network that I need to manage is relatively small WAN and large campus LAN. The LAN component with 100+ servers takes forever to "map" ... Am I missing something?
