Cannot see any IP Addresses of computers

Cannot see any IP Addresses of computers

G'day,
 
We are trying to see which IP addresses are connected to a specific switch port, however after scanning the switch we still dont see any IP addresses listed. In fact only half the connected PCs dont even have a MAC address showing.
 
We have HP ProCurve 5406zl switches, which I believe also act as a router. The management of them is performed from VLAN 1 which has a different Subnet and IP range to the VLAN 5 which all the computers are connected to. Would this make a difference?
 
I.E. The computer I am running OpUtils from cannot ping or connect to the workstations, since they are on a separate VLAN. But this computer CAN connect to the switch using SNMP.
 
Are you able to please help me see why we cannot see any IP addresses? Is there any configurations we need to do on the HP switch, other than set the Community names?
