Change transient date range
Is there a way within OpUtils 4 to change the date range that reports as "transient" and "available"? Rather than the default of 10 days, I'd like to run the available port report with a timeframe of 30 or 45 days, as that's more indicative of ports that are REALLY available to me. I am getting this error on a Cisco 2921 that is just being used for Call Manager Express and CME. Se0/0/0:23 is configured, but the rest are not. Any ideas on why I am getting this error? Would a phone call going outbound use this interface and then close it when done with the call?

Hi, Is it possible to add a subject with Email based SMS Profiles? Our mail2sms gateway needs a subject in the email. I know i could use a normal email profile, but when i select plain text, the mail is still delivered as a multi-part message and not plain/text... Best Regards, Dave

Hi I want to run a program in Opmanager to trigger when one process reaches a critical point. I want to pass the server name to the script and this works when running from the commmand line. i.e. script.bat servername How can I setup an action like this in Opmanager. Thanks James
Is a way to monitoring a mailbox messages count or size?
Hello, I'm using a mail archiving solution where all the mailboxes send copy of the messages to an archiving mailbox, then the archiving solution get those messages and flush the archiving mailbox. If the archiving mailbox grow or have a lot of messages, could be an issue in the archiving. I would like to receive an alert when archiving mailbox has more than 15 messages or some thing like that. opmanager x64 on windows 2003 R2 x64
I have a problem : I installed a fresh version (8723) OpManager x64 on a virtual server 2003 R2 x64 as service windows NT. But even if i use a service account (with all right access needed) and when i logon on the vmware console and logoff, the wrapper shutdown.(as well java.exe and mysqld-nt processes...) I tried to uninstall the service and reinstall it : (with -r and -i) : noway.... when i connect remotly the server with mstsc : no problem when i logoff my server is fully MS hotfix updated i made
Disk utilization is reporting 100% incorrectly
I am setting up OpManager and have been getting disk utilization alarms that servers are at 100% utilization. When I log onto the servers (both linux and windows) the utilization is no where near 100%. What would cause this and should there be another monitor to use instead of disk utilization?
OpManager dashboard "Last N hours Traffic" widget enhancement ??
Is there a way to aggregate or combine the output provided by the dashboard "Last N hours Traffic" widget for multiple interfaces on different devices on one graphic? Preferably the output would use line graph (versus area graph) and would provide a legend of which color line goes with each interface. Thanks!

Hello, i've played with Opmanger recently and i've found that all around it as a good NMS with a rapid adoption curve due to good built-in vendor/device templates. Business/Network maps with weathermap support it's also a good addition especially when you use xFlow plugin to drill down network congestions. I like ESX support too..simple but effective (if you need deeper/trend/capacity analisys you could use xangati,ecc..) but from infrastructure perspective it's more than enough. Ok now what mostly
OpManager doesn't show all received traps
Hi, I have been using OpManager to receive traps from Cisco Systems ASR5000 Intelligent Mobile Gateway (Starent GGSN). The traps have been configured by loading a MIB. The problem is that some traps exists in SNMP trap parser file but somehow are not recognized and displayed in any of alarm lists. I have checked "All alarms" and " Unsolicited traps" but couldn't find them. To prove this I have started Wireshark trace on OpManager server. From trace you can see followong two traps: 1.3.6.1.4.1.8164.2.76

How to monitor a process that resets itself every night.
I want to monitor the w3wp.exe process which is the appool process for IIS (Microsofts web server). I have one of these per web site (multiple sites & processes) on a web server. At midnight IIS resets the process automatically which cuases the process ID to change which OpsManager cannot deal with. Is there a way to account for this? I want to monitor the memory these processes are consuming.
Mail Server settings using Google Apps
Is it possible to configure OPM mail sending using Google Apps? I have applied all of the setting, including checking SSL Enabled and leaving SSL Certificate and SSL Certificat KeyPassword blank. The test mail was successfully received but I haven't received any real notification emails, since making the change.
VMWare esxi 4.1 - monitoring & dealing with vCenter's "remote tech support" warning
I really am happy with the virtual device monitoring in opmanager, and am using it for my 4.1 esx servers. I have 4 more esxi 4.1 servers, but unfortunately if I enable SSH (remote tech support).. a warning is permanently displayed in vCenter for those clusters. How can I make use of the SSH monitoring in opmanager and avoid living with the permanent warning message in vCenter? Anyone resolve this?
default monitoring for VM's inside hosts
Hey We have 8 hosts that hold over 200 virtual machines. Whenever I add a host, the VM gets a default CPU utilization of 85/90. I want to change it so the default is 95/99, is it possible for me to change this so every time i import a new host all the virtual machines get this as the default? Thanks Brett

Hi guys. Before this post, i was looking for the best high availability solution for OpManager & AppManager with MS SQL. Then Dilip told me that they don't support it. So now i'm going to use MySQL instead of MSSQL because they support it. Now i want to know that can i have two mirrored MySQL servers for "core monitoring database servers" and have for example 3*2=6 Opmanagers (each two servers for one primary and one standby) working with the core databases?

Personalize Apply suggestion
Just a suggestion for when you try and personalize the color or refresh info in OpManager. When you click on Personalize and just try to change your skin or refresh time and leave the password tab alone it still assumes you want to change your password. you have to delete your current password out of the field before it will apply your changes. maybe change it so it doesn't pre populate that field or change that it doesn't force you to enter the replacement password. just a thought.

Running OpManager without Flash
I am running into problems getting Flash approved to be installed on the systems that OpManager will be deployed on/with. After playing around with OpManager on a computer without Flash, it seems like the only thing that does not work is the Business View editor. The configuration once deployed will be locked down so this is not a problem. However, I am seeing if this is the only area that requires flash to run or if there is something else that I have missed?
Process Monitors - not working after a restart
Hello, I have just setup a few process monitors on one of our WebServers to monitor the various processes for w3wp.exe which we have a number of instances of. So I have added the processes and ticked both path and arguments so that I can monitor each individual one, however it would appear as though when the process is restarted Opmanager doesn't pickup the new instance of the process. I have readded the process again and then compared the "arguments" from each and it would appear as though

Hello, running Opmgr 8723. Can you please add the ability to edit the top menu bar? It would be much easier to drag and drop categories to the bar, instead of when working with lots of servers.... everytime "Servers, server, make change, Dashboards, servers". Thanks!
Change the default VM Performance Monitors
Is there a way to change the default VM Performance Monitors? By default when a VM is added it sets CPU, memory, and network with canned thresholds, and the evenst are always "critical". How can we change this in bulk (we have over 500 VMs), and how can we tune what severity these thresholds are set at?
OpManager failed to start after DB repair with License Error 501
We got problem in last week starting OpManager. While we tried to logon the web console, an error message appeared to run the database repair. We did run the DB Repair tool and after that the OpManager server failed to start. While we tried to run the StartOpManagerServer.bat, it asked for the license file and after that it ended with license file error 501. I am attaching the screenshot of the problem we are getting. Any suggestions or ways to resolve the issue?
Last Month report

Bussiness View doesn't work any more
Hi, When I try to create or edit a business view, the message "Initializing business view, please wait" appears and the business view editor doesn't work any more. MSSQL Monitor sees not all databases
Hi all, I have some problems with the MSSQL Monitor within OPManager. I use the latest build downloaded just yesterday. I add a server and add the MSSQL monitors. I also see the databases running on this server and I can add them to be monitored. Monitoring works fine. However... There are more databases installed on this server MSSQL 2005. For example there are running 8 databases on this server, but I only see 5 of them. The other 3 are not shown at all. I tried different users because I thought,

Possible bug in Widget?
Hi Everyone, On the main dashboard we have a widget setup to show the Top 10 bandwidth utilization. I've noticed that under the "Receive %" Category, all devices always show 100%. This seemed to start after upgrading to 8723. Deleting and re-adding the widget has no effect. I've attached a screen show as well. Thank you for your help. Eric

Accessing OpManager via HTTPS Reverse Proxy
We would like to access OpManager via a reverse proxy over https externally. Internally we access OpManager via http://internaladdress and externally we would access it via https://externaladdress We cannot allow direct external access to an internal server over the internet which is why we have a reverse proxy (squid) in our DMZ for this purpose.
