HIgh CPU (WMI and AV) - Opmanager the Cause?
Hey Chaps, Checking out our CPU alerts is leading me to believe that OpManager is potentially the cause. I see WMIPRVSE is sitting at 20% CPU and McAfee at between 20 and 40% (McAfee is scanning the WMI service 98% of its CPU time) So that's about 50% CPU gone already, this is on 6 or 7 win 2008r2 servers. After doing WMI logging I can see constant requests coming from our monitoring server, i thought i could unmanage a server to prove the theory, but i still see WMI calls coming from the monitoring
Process monitor false negative
I am monitoring various processes on several different servers. Most of these work fine, but one server keeps showing all of the processes down when they are not. Sometimes this happens several times a day, sometimes it doesn't do this for a couple weeks. I have yet to figure out if there is a pattern to this, and I don't see any configurations that differ from other servers. The one thing I have noticed, is if I click "Add Monitor" I can see the processes there, and after I do that, the next time
Log Analytics in OPManager
Im running OPManager version 11400 I saw there is Log Analytics tab in OPManager. How to use that? I also have Event Log Analyzer running on other server.
Ignore VMWare View desktops on hosts
Hello, We have 5 VMWare ESXi 4.1 hosts which we use to run our VMWare View Desktops (VDI) on. I would like to monitor these 5 hosts, but I don't want to monitor the desktops on them. When I add the hosts the desktops automatically get added. In the snapshot page of the host I delete the desktops, but after powering off and on the desktop or after a VMotion action on one of the desktops it gets added again in Opmanager. I've tried deleting them manually or setting them to "unmanage" but unfortunately
Database Migration from MSSQL 2005 to MSSQL2008
Hi, I am going to migrate the OpManager, NCM , and NSM Database from MSSQL 2005 to MSSQL 2008. Anybody can please share the guidelines/steps and lessons learnt? I am currently on OpManager 11.1 and about to upgrade to 11.4. When is the best time to upgrade the OpManager (as well as the NCM and NSM plugins version)? Before or after the DB migration? Notification Profiles email issue
Hello, I am trying to configure the notification profiles with email alerts. I went into Admin > Mail Server Settings and configured everything. Did the TEST MAIL at the bottom and was successful. When I go to the Alarms > Notification profiles and try doing the test from there it fails with error "Exception occurred while executing send email action. Please verify settings for the same" Any ideas?
Monitor Windows 2012 File Server
Lately I have had to reboot my windows 2012 server as my shared folders are very slow. When I look I do not see high CPU or memory use. Generally average about 25-40% peaks while I look. I already have monitoring on CPU and Memory is there another monitor I can enable to better track the health of my fileserver to get to the bottom of this issue. Once I reboot everything is fine but I am not sure what is causing the slowdown. Thank you
Error in uploading configuration
Hi. I'm trying to upload a configuration file to my cisco switches with NCM and I get an error which says "Configuration upload to this device is not supported." I've tried this for multiple cisco switches and got the same message.
OpManager Netflow Plugin
Hi, I recently updated the Netflow plugin for OpManager to version 10 which removed the older version we are running as part of the installation. Now when the serverstart log file is reporting the following: pg_isready file, which is mandatory for DB server start/stop, does not exist. OpManager is running a Windows 2012 server. Hi, I have setup email notification to and tested it from within OpManager (GMail) However, upon setting up the notification profile and hitting "Test" i get a error: "Unable to send due to java.netSocketTimeoutExcepetion" This is rather embarrassing considering that this is a NEW install AND this is not the first time this has happened. Please help.
SMS Gateway for OpManager
Current OpManager has only SMS as a Modem. Since many customers has their own SMS gateway it would be great if we have option to point to an SMS server with port numbers.
F5 Loadbalancers- CPU 100%
Hi, Opmanager seems to be reading the CPU incorrectly. According Opmanager all of our 6 F5 units(mix of 6400 & 3400) are at 100% CPU. Any ideas? Cheers, RH
Google Map size in Widget
I have the Google Maps Widget on a dashboard showing all our branches. This is great for quickly identifying a branch with a problem. However if I refresh the widget the map goes to full screen of the widget window. But when the map refreshes itself it shrinks in the widget window and I then cannot see all the branches. Is there a way to make the map stay full size of the widget? Rob

What has happened to Exchange 2013 support in OpManager? It was 'available in the next service pack' several service packs and many months ago.
WMI data collection getting stopped
Hi, I had problem WMI data collection getting stopped since I used ver 11200, since I read issues fixed in ver 11300 "WMI data collection getting stopped while upgrading from 9410 -> 10200 -> 11100 has been resolved now." I decided upgrade to 11300 and 11400 latest version but until now WMI data collection still not running well. I already tried other instruction such used wmitest and result test seem normal. please someone can help me to fix this problem.

Interface Templates - Enhancements

Request: customize alarm colors, and blinking
I'd like to have the option of adding a "blink" option to certain alarms (all "Critical", or a specific alarm) in order to increase visibility. I have OpManager (new UI) opened on a second monitor at all times, and this would be a great feature for me. For example, in my network overview, I have a widget for "Unacknowledged alarms", and would like background of the text of critical alarms to blink red/white, at like a 1 second interval. Options for Reducing Database Size
Hello-- We've been running OpManager for a couple or so years now and really never had any caps on historical metrics, etc. Now our OpManager SQL DB is about 47 GB and it's time to do some radical changes in what data we keep and how long. receive syslog from central syslog server
Hi, i have central syslog server and would like to forward syslog to the opmanager (ProbeA)for the monitoring. Since there have many of devices did not monitored by that porbe server. So that it cannot trigger the syslog alarm. Is it possible to make that probe server monitor those devices' syslog which from the central syslog server?
Summary load of two interfaces
Hi, I monitor Juniper Netscreen SSG 550 firewall with OpManager. And I would like to see graph of summary load of couple of interfaces and create threshold for value. Now I can see only separate graphs for these interfaces. I there any way to do it in OpManager? Best regards, Roman

PROBLEMS AFTER CHANGING BRAZIL SUMMER TIME
Hi, After the change of Summer time here in Brazil the time in the OpManager application appears in correct form but in the interfaces the time is up one hour. To try to correct this issue I started the service opmanager again and the time in the interfaces got correct but in the “performance monitors” the time is wrong up one hour. Opmanager Snapshot view
We have configured SNMP in the Fortigate firewalls and Opmanager is collecting CPU and memory information from them. In the snapshot view, the dials for CPU and Memory usage still display 'no data available'. Is there a way to configure these dials so that they display the correct information? I thought I saw where xenserver is now supported, so downloaded and installed latest version and cant find it. Looking through these forums the last response was that it will be available for version 11.3, think its at 11.4 now. So is it suppose to be working or not? Thanks
IP Range NATed on Firewall, WMI does'nt work
Hi Several customers are connected trough a site to site VPN to our network. Because their local IP range already exists on our Firewall, we NATed their local Network into another IP Range. Now the OPManager WMI Monitoring does’nt work anymore, so we can’t monitor several windows services from these customers. Is there any solution to make WMI work again?
Custom Interface Templates
It would be nice to be able to create and save multiple custom Interface Templates such as for Ethernet WAN Interfaces, Ethernet User Interfaces, Ethernet Server Interfaces, etc with different thresholds. Currently I have to modify the Ethernet Template for a group of similar interfaces, then have to remember what settings to change it back to for other similar interfaces that I want to configure.

Creating notification for a particular server process
Hi. We are using Opmanager to monitor a few servers and network devices. We have enabled process monitoring for a few servers to monitor specific processes. Some schedule reports blank after 11300 upgrade
Hello, I upgraded opmanager during September into build 11300 first day of each month I have several schedule reports for Windows services availability of 9 business views.
