I am using version 10000 and working to move our monitoring software in a new server running Windows 2012 using the latest version 11300 (AMS enable).

I have added some devices already (Routers and Switches). In order to reduce the traffic over the WAN and not needed Alarms I have un-manage the normal interfaces - maintaining under monitoring only the infrastructure ones (trunks to routers, switches, wireless, servers, etc.). It is clear to me that for the un-managed interfaces no data are being gathered (traffic, errors, status) and i am fine with this.

After some investigation i have decided to change the thresholds for some interface types. When applying the new Errors and Discards thresholds to all interfaces of specific type it turn out that all my previously un-managed interfaces of that type became managed. Indeed, the "Status Poll Details" is checked, but i though that is there in order to apply the number of consecutive times when to generate Alarms.

As this is a BULK change, I believe there should be the possibility to maintain the status of the actual interface. Also linking the number of consecutive times to generate alarms to the status pooling could generate issues if this is manually setup in a different way for 50% of the interfaces if the specified type. Another enhancement could be to be able to group interfaces of same type and apply different threshold and status settings (Example:"Switch Clients", "Switch Infrastructure", etc.).

For me, it is not a big issue, as the environment is not yet in production, but making a change like this could trigger big issues for 10.000 interfaces on over 500 equipment's. Please consider some enhancements in this area.
