Problem receiving traps (both unsolicited and configured)
Hi all! I am using the Professional Edition of the evaluation version of OpManager 5.5 build 5503. I am having some problems with receiving traps sent to my system. It is probably just some setting I have forgotten to set somewhere, but I have tried everything short of the jedi mind trick to get this to work, so I come to you to set me straight and (hopefully) tell me what I am doing wrong. It always uses 'public' to discover SNMP node
I'm using OpManager 5.5. I've changed SNMP Community String to other word than public in SNMP Parameters, but OpManager still discovers the network using public. Thus, I have to change password for each node on the network. :evil:
Issues with and Suggestions for OpManager 5.5
I have noticed several issues with OpManager 5.5, some of which have probably already been noted. Here goes: PROBLEMS 1. After configuring SNMP community, it remains at "public" when adding devices 2. I cannot make WMI monitoring work at all. I remove the SNMP monitors and add the WMI monitors with no problems. The monitors say they are running fine, but no graphs are ever created and the cpu/memory/disk section simply says "no data available. If I remove the WMI monitors, re-add the SNMP monitors

Core Builder 9000
Hi ! I have to administrate a Core Builder 9000 switch(actually it is a 4007 switch, but they are fully compatible) with OPManager. When I typed de IP address of my switch, OPManager sucessfully discovered this core switch (as a 9000), but OPManager only found one module with 3 ports (these ports are on the manager module). I still have 7 more slots on this core switch and each slot has a different switching module. What do I have to do to OPManager discover all of these modules ? Is it possible
OpManager Build 5501 : create trap processor
I would like to create trap processors from unsolicited traps in the web client (we use release 5510). But a javascript error (see attachment) appear on my web browser . Do you have any suggestion or idea ? Thanks
Problem monitoring SQL & Information about OpManager
Hi everyone. First of all, i have a problem monitoring SQL Server 2000 : - The SNMP Service is up and running - I can observe the main informations about my server(CPU, memory etc.) - SQLSERVERAGENT is running too But the graphs that i applied to my MS-SQL server aren't working!. No information is collected. Second thing i would like to know : If i buy OpManager as "Node Locked License Fee for single user edition" is there a restriction about number of servers/desktops/devices monitored ? Thanks

Cannot see business views on web client
I create some business views to classify nodes by the services I provide to customers. I can see the node icons in business views on java client, but on web cliens, it only shows the counts without any icons. Is this a bug?
Determing baselines/threshold for Compaq Monitors
We have many Compaq servers in our environment, and we have the Compaq (HP) Insight Manager foundation agents installed on nearly every one of our servers. I want to utilize Compaq Proliant Server monitoris in OpManager, but I'm somewhat floundering as where baseline would be for many of the monitors, which would help me in determining the threshold. Such as Power Capacity, Input Voltage, Server Temperature* .. where are my baselines? I have to enable a threshold in order to enable the monitor. Wish
No CPU utilization% for Win2003 Server

Cannot monitor Windows Services
Windows Service Monitoring do not working properly. As soon as I specify domain\username , it changed in a miute to domainusername So my windows service always show down. Any idea on how to fix it
Manage the Desktop computer
Sir, Is it possible to have a option to disable the desktop computer generate alarm message? But the desktops are still in managed/monitor option. Why? No Reports Data from CPU/Memory or Graph Data
I have OpManager installed and working ok mostly but the reports and Graph Data do not seem to be working. For my server it shows the percentage of CPU and Memory usage on the main monitor but if I click under "Other Graphs" and "CPU Utilization" it is blank. Under Reports for CPU and Memory Utilization the part I really want it says "No Data Available" Is there something special I need to configure on my server besides the SNMP Service ? I don't understand why when I click on "Servers by CPU Utilization"
All Devices Report quirk
I just upgraded to OpManager build 5503 and noticed a quirk in the �All Devices Availability Report�. When the report is run, any device with 100% uptime will be listed by name, but any device with less than 100% uptime will be listed by IP address. This is not a big issue. Just wanted to let you know and see if there is an easy fix.

Guys- I am getting the following message as soon as I try to login as an admin user. "Please check whether the server is running" Here is my configuration: OPManager 5.5 SP3 Windows 2003 Server I am sure that I am using the correct user name, password and port number. I tested the OPManager after installation, but it started after few days. I will appreciate if someone can help me to troublehsoot this problem. Thanks! Tom

I am monitoring a few Interbase ports and I want to associate a threshold rule for all the servers this is running on without having to goto each server and do it by hand, any ideas on this? Doug
net-snmp 5.2.1 problem with host-resources
OpManager can't get CPU and Memory Utilization from net-snmp 5.2.1 on FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE-p5. With net-snmp 5.0.8 on FreeBSD 4.7-RELEASE it works fine! net-snmp 5.2.1 compiled with host-resources MIB and, for example, SolarWinds CPU Gauge works fine. Help please!!!
No data available
Hi all, I installed Opmanger 5.5 (free edition), and i have added 5 servers into my account at the moment. However, I cannot see the CPU utilization, memory utilization and disk utilization after i clicked into a particular server. All I see is one message --> "Data not available". Anyone know what i should do to get the graphs back? I wonder if i need to make some configurations on SNMP or some other globoal configurations?? I have tried the following, but i am not sure if that is the correct way
MIBs batch processing?
Hey there, Is there anyway to load MIBs in MIBbrowser or OpManager itself using batching method like available in other Monitoring tools? The aim is to have either MIBBrowser and opmanager5.5 coming up with MIBs loaded and not having to create Trap processors manually or load mibs each time MIBbrowser starts. I'm currently evaluating the product and that the only, but painful, argument against it.
JavaService.exe causes CPU usage to stay at 100%
I recently installed the demo version of OpManager 5.5 with the intent of buying it. I have configured several of our servers without any problem, until today. Now, when I exit out of the web client, my CPU usage will go to 100% and stay there. JavaService.exe is shown to be the process which is at fault. Any ideas? This computer is brand new and only has OpManager 5.5 installed on it.

error adding graph for linux server via ssh
When I try to add a graph (i.e. cpu utilization) for a linux server via ssh, I get the following error: SshTools / log4j jar not present in classpath. Please download the sshtools-j2ssh-0.0.4-alpha-bin.tar.gz/zip from url "http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/sshtools" and set classpath to jaxb, log4j and sshtools jars. The above error doesn't give enough clear details on what needs to be done. I've tried to download the referenced file and extract the 3 jars. The problem comes trying to set the classpath

OPManager Email Notification Setting
I need to enter my authentication setting as domain\username and I can send a test message just fine. When I save the settings and then go back into the mail server settings the \ is now gone and the email notifications fail. Is there a reason why the \ will stay?

Monitoring memory in megabytes and problem with band usage
I would like to know if is there some way to monitor (or take reports) of the computer's memory use in megabytes and not in %. I also have a problem with my bandwidth usage not showing % of interface utilization. I have the correct kbps (or mpbs) interface traffic, but on all of my devices the interface utilization = 0. What could it be ?
Seeking clarification for something:
Can you not have snmp and wmi based resource monitors for the same server? For example, I prefer to use wmi for memory and cpu usage since the cpu monitor is better for multiprocessors and the wmi memory usage monitor reflects more accurate memory usage than does snmp. But I like to use snmp for custome graphs such as mbps or some such. But it seems if I configure a box this way, one will work while the other doesnt. One server I had monitored for some time and the snmp graphs were working fine.

Not getting mails if threshold rule is violated
Hello all, I have not been getting messages whenever there is a violation rule in the threshold value set, however it is getting generated in the client. I get regualr mails concerned with the event viewer but not with threshold violation. Can this be rectified, thanks Mahesh.
Howto discover network devices
Hi all, i would like to auto-discover our network. We have an IP-Adressrange starting with 148.192.xxx.xxx, but the unusual Subnet of 255.255.255.0. How must I configure the discovery range ? I've tried 148.192.0.0 with subnet 255.255.0.0, also 148.192.xxx.0 with subnet 255.255.255.0, but OpManager isn't discovering all of our devices. Any ideas ? thanks in advance.

disk storage via snmp
Hi, Two questions, 1) I use net-snmp via freebsd (5.2 version (recent)) I receive cpu/memory but no disk storage (four partitions) is it possible something breaks with multiple partitions via net-snmp (It thinks it is a Linux Host) 2) Is it possible to get graphs via each individual partition? I saw the previous thread but it did not mention how to say "/var" or "/" Awesome product - I've used many others for Windows and currently use Nagios but this is quite a setup - 10 devices for free is also
Opmanager 5.5 - not naming routers corectly + Bandwidth iss
Testing 5.5 before I upgrade our licensed 5 version of Opmanager. Have run a discovery and it has found my Cisco routers, however, the name of the routers tends to be the broadcast address of one of the links and the links are not reporting the correct bandwidth even though I have bandwidth settings on the routers. 5.0 discovered them ok! Doesn't Opmanager get the hostname from SNMP and use this? Some of the routers come up as unknown too (all cisco 2600 series) whereas some are correctly marked
How to configure the event log monitoring
Hello, the enhancements witch commes with SP 3 are great. Anyway I cant get the event log monitoring running, these are the steps I have done: 1. I enabeld the Window service monitor for the server �nd added the event log service --> it shows green 2. I created a new event log rule and installed it with the quick configuration wizard on the server 3. I created a log entry, but nothing happened? What did I wrong?
