Can't able to Install AdventNet OPManager on SUSE 9
Hi All I unable to install OpManager on SUSE 9.Though i setup very well.Later when i try to start OpManagerServer it is safing unable to start mysql deamon.When i manually start the mysql deamon still the Opmanager unable to start. Can any body tell me how to configure AdventNet on SUSE 9 ENT Server

Is it possible to create network maps for different customers and nest new maps witch represent different customer-sites. Rephrased: is opmanager a good tool for a small service provider (server support).
Only Map Maker in OpManager Client ?
hello there, after updating from 5.6 to 6.0 i face, that in OpManager Client is only the OpManager MapMaker View with assigned/grouped Business views. All other helpful views and things to configure and last not least the Inventory view is gone ! Is that a bug or a feature ? what can i do to restore/recover the client capacities ? regards, Peter

Report about Domain Controler
HI, I test the Version 6 of OpManager and can't get the reports to report about the domain controller. They are not in the server list and are not in the report. How can I get reports about the utilization of the Domain controller? Cheers Frank

We are ServiceDesk+ customers and are trying out OpManager. I've browsed 2 dozen pages on the OpManager forum for answers but no luck. 3 issues/questions: 1 Alarms) The audio alarm works fine on the server where OpManager is installed. Unfortunately our servers are locked in a back room where we can not hear the alarms. Can we not enable audio alarms when viewing from any PC via the web client? 2 SMS) I got email alerts working fine, but I can't get SMS cell phone text alerts to work. If I go to

Monitoring cisco 2940
Hi. I'm trying to monitor my 2940s, but am not getting the right values back. I added the Cisco2940 as a new device type, which seemed to work well. It now autodiscovers the 2940s as 2940s, rather than as desktops. However, when trying to monitor their memory/cpu resources using the default monitor. It seems to default to the host-resources mib and tries to get values for the wrong OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.2 whereas it should be something like (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1*100)/(.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1+.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1)

Unable to remove Service Desk Plus values -- after trial
We demo evaluated Service Desk Plus, and just uninstalled it. OpManager will not let me save null values in the Add-On Product settings / Service Desk Plus / Server Details. Problem with having any values in the service desk server details page, is it tries to connect to service desk everytime I look at a device. BTW I liked service desk, but it didn't meet the need of the evaluator fully. There was a desire to include hardware gathered from outside our domains as well.
Unable to delete notification Profile.
I'm not able to delete 2 notificataion profiles. This 2 profiles had been added in Version 5.6 now we have upgraded to version 6.0 SP3. Any idea ?
How to monitor active process

Hi, My testing on the Opmanager for the company is on the final stage. Now I have two problems: 1. On the Exchange monitoring of my exchange 2003 server, I have a problem on monitoring the important information like the SMTP, pop3, IMAP In/out connections. Hi, is the time window 8-8 including weekends? If yes, is there a way to avoid it? We need a report over business hours and without weekends. If i can't get it out of OpManager, is there a way to get the data to excel or so to recalculate it over the week without weekend? Thanks Frank

Hello all, I am very interested in one feature : *  Make reports graph on multiple devices. For example, I would like to generate graphs regarding CPU or RAM utilization of all the servers or an other category. I know, it is already possible to create custom monitor, but only for one device. It is a restrictive and frustrating feature. I think this functionality will be very interesting for a lot of people. And to finish, it will be fantastic to include it in the new "schedule report" feature
Dell PE & HP Monitoring
Hi all. I have a couple of Dell PE and HP ProLiant servers to monitor. They all have theyr managing application installed so they send SNMP traps correctly. I can connect and monito via SNMP CPU, MEM adn HD space. Do I will receive alerts when a Drive in RAID will fail? I have downloaded from Dell all the last MIBs. How can I use them? Hi, I had created a custom monitor but he graph shows me only the NA. I had tested with the the "test monitor" button and it shows me "The Monitor responded to the test request". Anyone have any idea how to solve it? Thanks
Any way to eliminate status messages from some device groups
Hi, I get tons of Attention, Trouble, Critical messages from desktops simply because users shut them off at night. I would like to monitor desktops for certain SNMP and WMI info only, without the constant status messages. Is there any way to disable just the status info? Thanks, Jim

Is there a way to make opmanager automatically know that some equipment are switches instead of dumping them into the desktop group where I have to go and manually change all them back to a switch.

Problems with SNMP
I am running OM 6.0.6002 on Windows 2003 R2. I have configured "SNMP Parameters" in Admin menu. Now, I am trying to add Windows 2003 host for monitoring (throught "Add device". And OM shows, that this is not an SNMP enabled device. But when i re-enter SNMP community string manually in the device properties it works ok. My question is: Should I manually enter SNMP community string for each device? Or this is a bug? Thanks.
When will N/A on interface snapshot page get fixed?
Opmanager seems to be a nice program but for the $1500 I paid for it I am wondering just when the snapshot interface/traffic monitors issue is going to be fixed. for example, I have desktops/servers, etc setup and being monitored. On the devices snapshot page there are values listed for traffic TX, RX, etc. When I select that interface snapshot page I get a page that shows me a graph for interface utilization but there are N/A listed for the RX/TX graphs. Memory utilization on Solaris
Hi, I'm running OpManager and i have some Solaris 10 servers. I don't have notice particular problem except OpManager tell me the memory is (always) used at 100%, which is not correct. I don't know how OpManager compute the value, but seem there is a trouble.
Print Server
Hi I have been searching for someone who could help me setting up my Monitors for the Printers. The thing is that I have a Print Server (HP 500x) and when I manually add it to the OPManager (with it's IP) it seems to be added as a printer. Then I don't know how to add the printers connected to the ports of the print server. Please can you explain me how to configure the Print Server on my OPManager. I will really appreciate if you do it step by step... I am kind of new doing this configurations.

Switch port collisions
Hello, I have a question concerning switch monitoring. I had +18000 collisions on a FastEthernet interface (0/24) from a Cisco catalyst 2950T. So I cleared the counters on the Cisco switch and checked those counters again a while later. The switch shows me at the moment that there are +-88 collisions on that interface, but OpManager still tells me (a few polls later) that there are +18000 collisions on that interface. Hello, I'm testing opmanager 6.0 evaluation copy and i like it, even though i would want some things different (but one can not have everything he wants ) Our network is pretty extendend with several sites that each have their own network address, but i only want to monitor the x.y.5.0/24 (site A) network. Today there suddenly appears the network x.y.4.0/24 (site B) on the left under "Network views", when i click it i get to see only 1 computer. That computer was in the x.y.5.0/24 network yesterday
