Several questions/problems
I downloaded and installed the trial version and I have some questions. - How come that the web interface is slow when using FireFox, when I use IE all goes fine but with FF it is slow and I must reload pages a lot. Also a lot ofpictures are not correct shown etc.. - Ho do I show CPU, Memory and Disk utilazation when I choose a server. I noticed when the server is in the same network it shows fine but when the server is outside the network it does not work. example opmanager runs on a server with
mysql backup
I am trying to move to SQL server for the data and I am following the directions. I am trying to backup my mysql data but for whatever reason the backup file is HUGE and I do not have enough local disk space. How can I redirect the mysql database to a different drive? Thanks - Chris
Listen to more than 1 mail address
I would like AdvenNet ServiceDesk to be able to "listen" to more than one mail address, not just e.g. "helpdesk@<MyDomain>. - Is this possible? - can different rules be applied to the different mail addresses used? Thanks Xavier
Active Directory Add in
I have installed the free version and have confirmed that it is the free version in the about tab. Issue I am having is that it shows that the Active Directory add in has expired and it will not let me see the stats on my DC's. I am not sure how the AD trial was installed but I need to be able to see the stats on my DC's.
Cisco 3640 Configure Interfaces applet empty
I have a Cisco 3640 I have set up with the proper SNMP and telnet paramters. I have set up the SNMP commnunities on the router, and enabled SNMP. When I click on the "Configure Interfaces" link, I get a popup with the column headers, but no interfaces listed. -David Conroy
Problems with DB configuration
Hi, I have a complete installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (all components) installed on a virtual server which is attached to the local domain and patched with latest windows updates. I have opmanager installed and patched with registration license key. I run through the DB configuration instructions and when I input the details I use: localhost 1433 domain user and password (I have tried sa and domain password). It is coming up with connection error, verify the details. Can anyone shed any
OpManager Admin Client - VERY Limited Functionality?
Hi guys, After upgrading from OpManager 5.6 to OpManager 6.0, I have since been unable to perform activities which I usually used the Admin Client for. As you all know, the Admin Client is a stand alone application, and for me it was an indispensable tool. However, now, it appears I can ONLY use the Admin Client to modify my Business View maps. Nothing else. I cannot add new objects/devices, or use the rest of the features which I enjoyed using in 5.6. I have since updated to the new hot fix (6005)
Extracting the Correct Value of MemoryUtilization using SNMP
Hi ALL, THIS IS A GENERAL QUESTION REGARDING SNMP PROTOCOL. Sure someone in adventnet community can provide me a clue n drag me out of this problem. To Extract the Memory Utilization value,I have used the oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.5.1.1.2 (hrSWRunPerfMem) ,then summing up the individual instances values and dividing it by total available memory (hrMemorySize). But with this approach I am occasionally getting value exceeding 100%(as I repeatedly poll a target machine[windows / Linux device] for this value,as
Custom monitor OID always adds a .0 in the end
I notice while adding a custom monitor , Opmanage always adds a .0 in the end . This fails when some of the OID do not have a .0 here is an example of what we are trying Probing temperature The .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.700.20.1.6.1.2 is OID When I add it to the Custom Monitor it automatically makes this .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.700.20.1.6.1.2.0 . A regular snmpget on .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.700.20.1.6.1.2 works but fails via opmanger because it always looks for .1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.1.700.20.1.6.1.2.0
Global Credentials
Hello, It would be nice to have a "Global Credentials" feature in OpManager like in PatchQuest It would be easier to add a host without having to type the username/password every time (WMI, ...) It would be also very nice if we can add login credentials in the "Add Device" page Best Regards
Device says added successfully, but cannot find device
I had a configured device (router) that I deleted at one point and am now trying to add back to be monitored. I add the device via IP and OpManager indicates the device was added successfully; however I cannot locate the device anywhere within Opmanager and when I search for the IP it indicates device does not exist. Is there a problem if a device did exist, was deleted, and one tries to add again? I am on build 6000.
mysql hangs - slow performance
Hello, I am very impressed with your product so far. For the past few days, we have been having an issue with mysql. Every few hours, mysql hangs for a few minutes causing the web page to be inaccessible during this time. We are running OpManager on dual Xeon 2.4 GHz CPUs that show up as four processors in task manager. During this period of slow behavior, mysqld-nt.exe peaks out at 25% of CPU, but network utilization is very low. It seems like mysql is not being load balanced properly across the

Cannot manage WinNT
Please help me managing WinNT OS. The OpManager was installed on our Win2k3 server. I can easily add devices but I cannot manage all devices with WinNT OS. Even the SNMP and Trap were already configured and started. But there is no problem managing WinXP, Win2k, and Win2k3 servers. Except to my one Win2k3 server (an antivirus server using Apache2 services) that looses network connectivity (Network hardware failure) after a few hours and need to stop SNMP (with 100% cpu utilization), Disable Network

active sessions for a Citrix farm
Hello everybody, I am testing OpManager free version in the frame of my training period... We have several Citrix farms. For 1 server, no problem for making a custom oid to retrieve the active sessions. But we would like to add each active sessions of each server in order to obtain the total active sessions of the Citrix farm... Is there a easy way to do that? Business Views Questions
I have two Business View questions: 1. I was searching the forums about business views and noticed that you have a product called "Application Manager" which is like OpManager on how it looks and was designed. status message help
The following message appears, and we see no data for the server. Active Directory Monitoring Add On Feature is not licensed. This server is a DC, but I do not want DC info, just want to see the resources, i.e. memory, harddrive useage, and traffic. How do I cause the status window for servers, to show me this information again. Thanks

Loading mibs in a certain order
My understanding is that all mibs under the mibs folder will be loaded on startup correct? After watching OpManager boot several times I have to problems/questions. 1. Is there a place to see what mibs are already loaded in memory at bootup? I have check using MibBrowser.sh and it only shows the RFC 1213 mib loaded until I tell it to load all mibs. 2. When OpManager boots it does not load all the mibs. I find I have to go into MibBrowser.sh and tell it to load the mibs 3 or 4 times to load them all

Problem with DB configuration
I am having problems with the DB migration. It comes up with the message "connection error, please verify the details" . However, if i change either the password or username i have provided the message returned is "login or username incorrect". If I change the host or port details the message returned is "host or port name incorrect". Which password do I need to provide in the opmanager DB configuration. Any help much appreciated! Domain Controller Alerts don't work
Hi, I'm testing OpManager, and so far it looks very promising, except for the fact that I have a domain controller (Windows 2003) added as device, but when I configure a threshold, the alarm for that threshold is never activated. I added all the monitors under Active Directory Services (which include Memory Utilization). Then I go to System Monitors and set a threshold for Memory Utilization). When this threshold is exceeded, no alarm ever gets activated. If I do the same for just a "server" then

Would like to be able to run these reports: - Inventory by Business View This report should include any routers, switches, servers *including domain controllers. With Sub-headings for each category type. - Would like reports to include selectable custom fields. For example one of the custom-fields I've added is "Server Role", I would like reports to include that, and perhaps our propertyID tag etc., - Server Inventory Reports currently do not include Domain Controllers, and there is no built-in report
Network and Performance Counters for Domain Controller
I've just installed the free version of OpManager. I've added a domain controller, and get statistics for cpu, memory, disk, lsass, ntfrs, and ad store, but network and performance counters only ever display "N/A" (been running for a couple of hours now). Dell PowerConnet 6024
Hello, new to OpManager, loving it so far, however I dont think I yet grasp using vendor specific mibs. I want to monitor about 10 Dell 6024 PowerConnect Switches, I went to dells website and downloaded the mib files for the 6024. Inside the zip file I downloaded there are 73.mib files. I put them into the mib directory, but what do I do next to allow opmanager to view specifics on the device? Regards

I have some routers and the discovery process didn't find routers interfaces without IP number. I use the interfaces with "ip unnumbered".
Wrong Icons Displayed for Domain Controllers
Greetings, I have seven DC's in the Domain Controller Infrastructure View. Of those seven DC's, only two are displayed with the DC icon. The other five show up as Win2K servers. If I go into the Snapshot screen for each one, they are identified as DC's. What can I do to get them to use the correct icon on the various views?
Managing Laptops
This is an issue on our network as we have approx 30 laptops that come on and off the network regularly. Login account for Service Desk Integration
I am trying to evaluate these two products and have integration working fine with the default administrator account for SDP. However we only have two techs and want to use them for SDP but I get Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus, The server might not be running or the network traffic may be too high. I have Active Directory authentication enabled in SDP and most likely need to include a domain in the login, but DOMAIN\USER is not working, can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong here?
