Processor Queue Length query.
In the Domain Controller Active Directory monitoring the System Monitoring contains a monitor for the Processor Queue Length. Is it possible to get this monitor available for file servers as well? Also is it possible to get parameters such as the disk queue length? Doug
where are my alarms?
Good morning, I have one question concerning OpManager. I'm testing it for buying but I have a strange problem. I receive alarms and traps from several equipments. I have configured in "Database maintenance" and "Alarm database" for maintaining 10000 recent alarms in the database. But now I still receive alarms and traps but they are displayed during 1 day or even few hours and then they disappear... For example, I simulate several "Warm Start" traps, they were all stored yesterday but today they
SNMP after Hotfix 6005
I just applied the hotfix #6005 and after a few hours logged in to find that no SNMP data is available. When I go to test the monitor I get "The Monitor did not respond to the test request" for ones that were working just fine as of this morning. The only logical conclusion is something in the hotfix has changed the way SNMP monitoring functions. As anyone else experienced this? Anyone have any ideas on what we can do?
Server is already present in the System but where
Hello, I`ve added my Mailserver, then I delete this Server in the OpManger because someting was wrong. After a few minutes I tried to add the Server again. The System tells me the Server is present in the System, but I can`t see him. When I would add him again I get the following message: Device already present in the System. But when I look into the Network Views where the Network is listet i can`t see my Mailserver. What can i do? Thanks Daniel
Adding a new device type in MSP editon.
Unable to find any method to ad a new device type in MSP Edt. I have a MGE Ups that are not in the device type list. I have the mib for this product, how can I add support for this product? Geir

I'm trying to get an snmp parameter using the numericOID (".1.3.6.1.4.1.20218.1.100.101.1") using Mib browser but I have the following error message: "Request failed or timed out. No error". If I use snmpget command line shell it works good. Can anybody help me?
Customized Availability Report
I need to generate an availability report but only with all systems below a certain threshold (like 99.0%) and including some custom fields. The builtin report seems to be unable to do this... I guess, that this can only be solved by using Crystal Reports. I have that and can access the database, but need the field definitions and some more help in order to be able to piece this report together (unless somebody already has something like it and can provide me with it...). Error populating tree.xml
Hello, I recently installed opmanager 6.0 on a Windows2000 server machine. I was previously using opmanager 5.5. I renamed the opmangerdb directory to opmanagerdb.old and reinstalled opmanager 6.0 now when I login I receive the error message Error populating tree.xml. Any Ideas on how to fix this issue. Any help would be appreciated!!!. Thank you.
REPORTS SAYING NO DATA AVAILABLE
Suddenly last sunday scheduled reports say No Data Available. The data seems to be correct in every device and the Reports are scheduled until 6 months ago. What may happen ? Thanks. Miquel
Create a URL link under Additional Feilds Properties
Hi, Is it possible to add a URL address under additional Feild properties, so if someone is checking a server or router, we can have a url pointing them to our Wiki that would contain more detailed information, or even to the manufactures website. This would be very benifical as you are limited to the anmount of inforation that you can cram into the feilds.
Red Hat ES 3 - does not display all mount points
I'm struggling to get OpManager to get free disk space information from our Red Hat ES 3 Linux servers. When I try to add a Resource Monitor for free disk space (GB or MB), I can only see some mount points, but not (as luck would have it) the ones I actually want to monitor (/data). On two of the servers the mount point I want to monitor (/data) is owned by a user account other than root (but I can access it as root when I ssh to the server manually). These two servers have mirrored disks. The command
New features?
Are there any new features coming out soon that people have requested? Many of the other products your company is developing have a Product RoadMap posted in the forums. We hear "we will try to add this to a future release" alot but we never know when that future release will happen. So far 95% of the updates released for OpManager has been fixes over the last 6 months. When will new features and functions be added that people have requested? I ask this because my company uses a few of your products
Linux console installation does not work
Try to install Linux version of OpManager in console. Could not make it work. The installation guide only deals with graphics mode. I used "-console" but won't proceed at "Enabling Product Components ..." Any ideas?
SMS alert
hi, (We are using the msp opmanager) I want to use the sms alert but who can explain me how you can do it. Must i place the modem at the central server or on the probe which is stand at the customer? Few Lines at one Diagram
Hi and thanks to all. I observe some values of similar nature. F.e. one counter - total sessions, another - active of them. I do that using "custom monitor". Device Rediscovery
Hi, The problem with the device discovery does not seem to be fixed in this latest hot fix. Still when a switch is rediscovered the display name is changed and management for all ports is enabled by default. Will a fix be available soon? Thanks Ramzi
memory utilization graph with cisco 3560
Hi we are currently testing OpManager before purchasing the Professional Version. We are testing OpManager with a Cisco catalyst 2950 series 12G and a Cisco catalyst 3560 series 24 PoE. We tried the discovery function, and OpManager found the 2950 as a 2950 and the 3560 as a desktop. The specific OID for the 3560 wasn�t in the database, so we added it with admin\device type\add new device\ and the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.563 We deleted the 3560 and rediscovered it. Unable to add monitors with SNMP
I boght OPManager Pro and tried to creat CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization ,Disk Utilization and other Resource monitors on a server with SNMP. but when i look at the graph it that the data is not available. what can i do to fix it? (SNMP client IS installed on the server )

Suppressing Unnecessary Alarms from a Device
Hi, According to OpManager user guide its possible to "Suppressing Unnecessary Alarms from a Device". It suggesting to right click a device, choose configure and then "Alarm Suppression". Well, I cannot find such function. Right click on a device via Opmanager client web interface will not provide such option as "configure". Could some explain what/how such operation is done? I have unchecked "Notify" on Switch/Router ports discovered by OpManager, but still get this unnecessary alarms.
OpManager business views question
Hello! The business views option is very great! But is there a way to customize them ? For example, I would like to have a view for each brand equipment and when I click on them, I have for example the image of the real thomson equipment and on this image I would like to add (with a drag-and-drop??) the ports that I need to monitor? And when there is an alarm, it goes red... Currently, you can have a background image but on it, you can only add other business views or other devices. But you can't
Severity notification in Business Views
I am trialing OpManager at the moment. One issue I have found is that severities do not seem to get propagated upwards more than one level in the Business Views eg Country Business View -> State Business View -> City Business View -> ServerA. If an alert occurs on ServerA the City Business View turns red but the State and Country ones stay green. What am I doing wrong? Doug

Hi, We have intergrated opmanager and service desk so that a ticket is automatically open in servicedesk+ from the traps receive in Opmanager. The problem is that, it opens a ticket for each event received, resulting in many duplicates tickets for the same event. How can I limit/filter this. Thks
monitor a string value (and not integer)
Good morning, We are testing OpManager in order to replace our monitoring plateform... We have seen that it is possible to configure threshold to generate an alarm...But unfortunately, this threshold can only be an integer value. Several OID send string values and not integer values. We would like to monitor an oid which sends back a string value and send an alarm when the device sends the empty string "" or the string "error". Event Log Monitoring
Is it possible to do event log monitoring without the events triggering a critical level alarm? We just want an informational log of events. Right now every time someone in the company puts in a wrong password, it is flagged as a critical error on the domain controller and we get an email that the server is down. If not available, please consider for future release. I also echo the requests in here to have notifications stop after a number of occurrences specified by the administrator. Take a look

I have just installed the 30 day evalution copy of Ops Manager (very nice tool) but I have a couple of problems that I hope someone can help me with. Firstly all the names of servers/workstations/printers appear as so: adsl-0-1-91.shv.bellsouth.net (with 91 being replaced by the IP address assisgned to that particular kit). Can anyone tell me why? Secondly there is no monitoring of any of the desktops. They are detected by the tool but there is CPU/Memory/Type info associated with them. Again any
Sub-minute polling of devices by OpManager
I'm using OpManager to monitor VoIP installations and was wondering if it was possible to set the polling of devices at rates higher than once per minute? This would be useful whenattempting to identify errors particularly as many calls are only a minute or two in length.
