Feature Request: Send Feedback Link
We have just started to evaluate OpManager. As a new user we are able to look at it and see a number of small changes that would make it more usable. Instead of saving them for a big email (or more likely, forgetting about them) it would be nice to have a "Send your Feedback" link on every page. The link idea comes from an agile project management package we use, TargetProcess, where they implement a similar feature. Redline/Alvarion/Trango Wireless Support?
Just got OpManager running - love it so far! Any idea how to add support for Redline AN-50 wireless radios, Alvarion wireless radios, and Trango 900 and FOX 5.8 wireless equipment? They all have their own MIB files but have no idea how to add support into the software for them? Is it possible to have AdventNet (even for a fee) do this for us and release it in an upcoming build? IBM AIX disk problem
Would like to know why disk utilization is always zero wherein if we command the /usr/bin/df -k | awk '{x += $2} { y += $3 } { z += $4 } END { print x,y,z }' in telnet, it generates an output. I've attached a picture to show the problem. Thanks
Moving OpManger and MYSQL database to new server procedures
Greetings, I would like a procedure for migrating OpManager and the MYSQL DB to a new server. Presently, I have OpManager configured on a high end desktop. All databases are on the root drive (C:\Program Files\Adventnet), default location. My new (real) server (mirrored) has a partitioned (Data) drive that i would like to migrate\move the database to and maintain at that location. Can you assist? Thanks
Mysql consumes 100% of CPU in Op5.6
Hi , I'm evaluating Op5.6 on Xeon 2.2GHz dual CPUs + 4GB Memory. Op always suspends for 10 or 30 mins. During that period we get no response from web client including unable to logon as i had post this problem to this discussion board. hi, i m using trial version of opmanager i like the product very much..., the prob. right now i m facing is is when i get to switch snapshot page and click on interface to see interface information it gives me error --unable to fetch interface detail-- i have rediscover all interface still the prob exists. rest of the switches works well....and if i want o monitor bri interface fro backup isdn line how can i do it to get status that is is up or down without effecting it...thanks in advanced

Sorting Alarms
When I sort the alarms on the events (So I get the same errors on different servers) the list will be rebuild with all customers. When I select the customer I want, the list falls back to the first listing. Is there an sollution for this problem? Thanks
SNMP versus Task Manager
How does their checking of CPU utilization differ? When I try to check the cpu via SNMP it shows almost 100% percent of CPU utilization, however when I logged-in in the server and check the task manager it only shows 50-60% CPU usage. What is more accurate? THanks

Hi, we just purchased the exchange monitor add-on, and there are a few things I'd like to see: 1. IS size should take into account both EDB and STM files, since EDB files are only part of the picture. 2. It would be nice to have a view (and graph) of each individual database size (EDB+STM) instead of a summed total of all databases. 3. Possible to migrate OPManager MSP to a new Server?
Is it possible to move the installation of OpManager MSP to another server? I installed MSP on a test server. Now I am moving the system into production, I would like to migrate the settings for MSP from the test server to the production server. Is there a way to do this?

Load a node via database
Is it possible for us to load data via SQL? For example, if we have 100 different ip to monitor and want to include specific servers to be monitored. We can just execute an insert statement to the table. Thanks
MSP Ed - Removing and reinstalling probe
I have a problem with our main probe. Can I remove and reinstall the probe without losing the devices and data? Will it remain in the database on our Central Server?
OpManager MSP - Receive SNMP Traps from unmonitored devices.
In some cases, at our customer sites, we would like to install an OpManager MSP probe, where we may be monitoring 10 devices, but there will be additional devices that are sending SNMP traps to the probe. I want to be able to forward these traps as alerts to the OpManager central server in our NOC. Is this possible? In my lab tests this did not work. I was able to forward raw traps by creating a generic trap processor (matching only .1.3.6.1) up to the central server as long as the device sending

Is there a way to create a custom category for device type? I have devices that do not fit the default categories and OpManager puts them in the desktop category.
pca_trap.mib - PC Anywhere MIB
Has anyone managed to get the pca_trap.mib working. Whenever i add it to opmanager and upload it works fine but then the mib browser falls over saying error line 444. Its obviously a poorly written MIB but can anyone suggest a debug?
truncated name in server map MSP 6003
Hi, We're using MSP 6003. In Customer View I see the complete name of our servers, for instance: abecol01.cehave.local.chvlbbprobe In most other maps the name is truncated, for instance in the server map in details view i can only see: abecol01.cehav... Reports Customization
2 Problems: 1. we want to make all the reports look the same (the customer reports vs custom reports vs etc) are all formatted differently (different borders, logos, text, etc). How can we go about homogenizing the format? 2. We need to adjust the sizes of the reports so they print out on a standard 8.5"x11" piece of paper! Opmanager 6 and Service Desk Plus 6
I have a demo of SD+ version 6 installed on my win2k3 server, and I am attempting to install a demo of OpManager 6 on the same server. I can not get OpManager to run after I complete installation. I have tried using both MSSQL and MYSQL, I have tried changing the apache port numbers multiple times, but I have no idea how to fix it. Anybody out there that can help?
Interface down alerts only on some ports of a switch?
Is there any way to configure the interface down alert on a port by port basis for a network switch? I would like to continue to manage all the ports for things like traffic, errors, etc but don't really care if the interface goes down. Many of the ports I am talking to are connected to laptops or desktops. If the user turns their machine off for the night, I don't want an alert but I still want to know if they have a lot of errors. Can this be done? Thanks.

Status polling through SNMP only
Hi, I deployed the opsmanager in an network environment where different lan cannot ping each other. Therefore, i was hoping that i can do status polling of devices at other lan segment through snmp. However i am not able to do it at ops manager as there don't seems to have such an function. Care to assist on how i can resolve this problem.?
Installation Problems
having trouble installing the the trail version. On install it asks for port 443 "which is being used by another device" I change the port and the webclient will not open. I am loading on a Windows Server 2003 machine. Is there a "how to" install on a Windows Server 2003 machine and change the ports to work? This to me seems like a very basic install and should be more documentation outlining a solution. Yes, I did a search of the forums and have seen other people with the problem but no answers
Getting device into the right category
Hi, I have a Cisco 871W router that I just can't get discovered as a Router (it keeps coming up as a switch...) I have: - Created a new device type - Edited opmanager_categoryInfo.xml to contain the name of my new device type - Restarted OpManager (6014). When the device is discovered, it comes up as a Switch. I can change the type to "Router", but of course I have to add all the monitors manually. Also, when I click on "Device Type" under "Configure" on the snapshot page, the window that pops up
MS SQL Backend Support
Hello, I am currently trying to move my existing OpManager backend database to a SQL server. Is there a document, web site, or a person that could point me in the right direction. Changing router's IP address - doesn't work?
Hi, I added a router into OpManager using the IP address of a physical interface. Now, I want OpManager to manage the device using a different IP address on the same device. So, I clicked "Device Properties" and changed the IP address to the one I want to use. But, when I ping the device from OpManager, it is using the old IP address instead. I assume that all other traffic (SNMP etc) will be using the old IP address too. I don't want OpManager using the old address for anything at all - how can
discovered network & diagram are gone
Greetings all, I'm in a stage of testing the Opmanager, due to updating in the operating system of Windows of a newly instaled one, i had to reboot my machine which has the Opmanager on it. Unfourtantly after restarting & starting also the Opmanager, i am unable to see the discovered network, Yes i can see IPs but nothing else, even the diagram of a WAN is not there. could there be any solution for this since im in testing phase of this project and i'm really starting to like it.
VPN traffic on a PIX
I have 3 pix 515's, and can monitor traffic on the interfaces. But I would like to be able to have an 'interface' for any VPN traffic, or even by specific sites. Is this possible?
Sorting alarms
When I click on the attentionnumber on the mainpage I get a list of al attentions from that customer. However when I want to sort the list on the Alarm Messages, and click on "Alarm Messages", I get the list sorted. In this list all customers are displayed instead of the one I want. scheduled reports email authorization
Hello, Im having trouble with scheduled reports. The warning emails are being sent but the daily reports are not being sent due to an authorization error. Any ideas why one email works and the other doesnt? Problem with 6014
Hello, I install de 6014 update and after that Opmanager refuses to start. In fact Apache service stop after a while, causing Opmanager to stop too. Any information would be appreciate. To install 6014, i am proceding like this: - Stop the Opmanager service. - Running updatemanager.bat (in a windows 2003 server). The process of update do not return any error.
