Hi, Is there a script available to update sysnames for devices instead of doing each one individually. The customer doesn't use DNS in their environment for their management devices. There are approximately 380 devices that I don't want to do manually. Cheers

I mean you use don't correct MIB for Cisco 9140 Fiberswitch in OpManager 7205 and don't right formula - (.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1*100)/(.1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1 .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1). My Cisco 9120 Fiberswitch not answer on it and not answer on .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.5.1 and .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.48.1.1.1.6.1. I use other Cisco MIB for it - CISCO-ENTITY-EXT-MIB and receive right data. My be you change it in new update ? And change name of this monitor on - Cisco 91X0 Fiberswitch

Is there an upgrade path in OpManager 8 to go from the 7204 version? I've tried a couple ways, but it seems to be a complete uninstall / re-install of the product with a new database. Shaun
SNMP traps and Windows Clusters How to?
Hi, Here's my problem. We have two SQL cluster nodes (.1 and .2) running Dell OpenManager. We monitor SQL Cluster IP (.3) using OPmanger. When we send test traps from .1 (the active node) sometimes they fail to arrive on .3 monitor. So I changed .3 monitor to use .1. Traps work. But I lose SQL database stats i guess because .3 is the SQL service not .1. Any solution to this?

Reports problem all devices
Hi! Running opmananger 7205. When I create a user and give him rights to his business view and then log in as that user and go to reports and "all servers availability reports" then all servers show up even if the user hasn't any right to those objects This started when i upgraded to the new version. Any suggestion what I can do to prevent the customers to se each others devices? /Robert
Remove web pane from right of 7205 screen
We are running the trial version of OpManager 7205 and are getting annoyed with constantly being asked for the proxy settings in order for every page of OpManager to connect to the internet. Our network does not have access to the internet, and we would like to remove this pane, or somehow disable it as clicking cancel every time the screen changes is getting very tedious. Please advise on how to get around this
Ghost monitor causing alarm flood
For no reason a APC UPS Monitor (or something in opmanager) starting sending snmp reqs to UPS with bad credentials at 1am Sunday night. The UPS sends emails to me saying so " System: Detected an unauthorized user attempting to access the SNMP interface". Strangely the UPS monitors still collected stats. Tried everything. Now deleted monitor. many Fixdb and Reboots. See firewall traffic suggesting it is opmanger as same port number for all SNMP reqs. Server has no other SNMP software on it. Still
OpManager 8 and Disk Queue Length
I have been previewing the Beta of OpManager 8 and noticed that disk queue length is now included as a WMI monitor. Problem is, there is no way to target the monitor on a certain volume. When I apply this monitor to a server, is the value that an average queue length of all the fixed drives? Would be nice if it would prompt you for a fixed volume like some of the other WMI thresholds do.

Hi, Thanks for my previous posts. Now I am having the requirement, by using the LED(which will display in Client status bar, right now it is enable in clientparameter.conf file and not displaying anything i.e means the blinking area is white color) user has to know that some work is pending. can I able to use one of the LED display area to my usage. if so how can i use them? (please give the example) And another one, can i able to change the background color of the LED Panel, from black to grey?

Hi, I found a thread regarding compatibility mode for SQL 2000 when using SQL 2005. I could not reply to the post, so heres a new one... OpManager Intermittently Accessable and Alarming
Hi -- We are running the Win 2003 verison 7205 and recently have begun having problems with OpManager startup. If we reboot the server the services show started but clients can't access opmanager and are unable to find the webpage, when on the local host too. The opmanager and opmanagerApache services are started but only 1 apache.exe process is running (I think we usually see 2+) We can run startopmanagerserver from the opmanager\bin folder (after stopping the Apache and mysqld-nt processes) using

Hello I have asked the question to support email as well but haven't received any reply yet. We used trial license of OpManager Professional edition for couple of months, however currently not planning to purchase registered license. We still want to manage critical servers on 10 node free version. Out trial version has expired and dont know to go back to free version. We use OpManager 7. Can someone point out how to do this? We have lots of customization and hate to reinstall and redo everything.

Hello, I have query regarding MySql DATABASE, i have install opmanager with licence 1000 device ALL is install well with version 7205, Now my problem is i have installed opmanger on the server where it it is 50 Gb available space i have like 800 devices on the network with more then 20000 interfacecs. so i have configurd LUN 300GB "SAN" disk for my server now i want my aplication to save the database to this disk and not on my local server. how can i map my aplication so that it can save data base

Hello everybody, we have purchased a premium edition of Opmanager after running the Evaluation version for some time and are very impressed with the Application. OpManager stops monitoring
Hi, OpManager stops monitoring stuff from time to time (it seems to coincide with the nightly backup - OpManager is running on the same machine as the backup software). The symptoms are: - Loads of things report as being "down" when they're not - The message below appears instead of graphs: Graph not available. Possible causes : * Service may not be running. Enable the Service again to view the graph. I need to stop and start the OpManager service to get everything back to normal. alec

I have added the performance monitor for the number of output bits on a Cisco 7513 router interface and anytime the traffic goes over 10 megabits the output is as follows.. Fortigate 1000A and Op Manager
Guys, I am having trouble configuring Op Manager with the Fortigate 1000A unit. I have successfully downloaded the MIBs and can use the MIB browser to query against the device however whenever I attempt to query for example high cpu, temp, etc it does not return a value. I have added the device to Op Manager and can obviously query it but what I have also noticed is that the 'blue star' does not appear next to the device. It does for other devices that I use Op Manager for but not this one. I have

Hi, Is it still possible to buy OpManager 7? We have just setup all our devices on a trial license on OpManager 7 and we're quiet happy with it. The new license form (per interface, we're only monitoring switcthes/routers/firewalls) makes OpManager 8 much more expensive. The reason we tested OpManager 7 to start with was that it looked like a very affordable product but with 2000-3000 interfaces OpManager 8 does not. Regards Mathias!

Scheduled Report Generation In Excel
We just tried Service Pack 1 for 7.0. We found something missing for us. The report generation on excel was good feature but this feature was not found on the scheduled report. Scheduled report still contains PDF report format. Also, if the generated reports could be merged into one. I have attached three files. These are auto generated reports. I have to generate a single report merging these all these report on Excel format. It would be better if i can generate other kind of custom merged reports
Traffic on PIX interfaces ?
Hi, i have several PIXes and all of them work properly ... But, one of them, can't show interfaces traffic in OpManager ... SNMP working properly, I can see CPU or Memory utilization ... I can rediscover all (2) interfaces but traffic is NA ?!

OpManager can't get snmp statistics
Hello I just downloaded the free version of OpManager linux version. I've added a Linux1 system to the OpManager panel. That linux system's snmpd is configured and working fine. I just tested its operation by snmpwalk. I mean snmpwalk(on OpManager machine) could query information from snmpd service on the Linux1 machine. However OpManager can't get statistics from Linux1 machine. I entered the correct credentials(community string) checked 4 times. Have any faced the same problem? or any clues, comments,

Monitor Checkpoint/Sofaware Edge Appliance ver8.0
Hi I am in the process of upgrading our Edge appliances to the latest version 8.x firmware. Sofaware have made available a MIB file for this new version however when I try and load it in the MIB browser I get the error - Error parsing MIB:EMBEDDEDNGX.MIB Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file D:/OpManager/./mibs/EMBEDDEDNGX.MIB The error occured at the line no: 331 ,column: 62. The identifier should not startswith number or special character. I have uploaded the MIB file for reference,

Unable to delete or clear Cache Hit Ratio alarm
I'm unable to clear or delete the MSSQL Cache Hit Ratio (SQL 2005 Server) alarm so it always looks like we have a problem whenever someone looks at the server map. I'm able to acknowledge the alarm but that's it. when I attempt to clear it or delete it, I'm sent to a blank IE page and nothing happens. I've tried clearing the IE temp files as suggested in another topic but it didn't work. I don't have access to the OpManager database so I can't manually delete it from the tables either. Has anyone
