SNMP traps and Windows Clusters How to?

Here's my problem.
We have two SQL cluster nodes (.1 and .2) running Dell OpenManager.
We monitor SQL Cluster IP (.3) using OPmanger.
When we send test traps from .1 (the active node) sometimes they fail to arrive on .3 monitor.
So I changed .3 monitor to use .1. Traps work. But I lose SQL database stats i guess because .3 is the SQL service not .1.
Any solution to this?
