Ghost monitor causing alarm flood
For no reason a APC UPS Monitor (or something in opmanager) starting sending snmp reqs to UPS with bad credentials at 1am Sunday night.
The UPS sends emails to me saying so " System: Detected an unauthorized user attempting to access the SNMP interface".
Strangely the UPS monitors still collected stats.
Tried everything. Now deleted monitor. many Fixdb and Reboots. See firewall traffic suggesting it is opmanger as same port number for all SNMP reqs. Server has no other SNMP software on it.
Still get emails from UPS complaining!
Looked at polleddata table see no reference to monitor.
