Website URL monitoring through some remote plugin.
Hi all, Is there any provision in Opmanager to monitor the Website from remote location ? I have a webserver connected in the same network as that of Opmanager server. This webserver hosts an application which is accessible from internet. We want to monitor this website from our remote office, to get an idea about exact URL availability of this App. Like the NRPE in Nagios, does opmanager have any utility for monitoring the website from remote location? - Shashank Parab.
Added devices not showing up
Recently, when I add devices they do not show up anywhere in Opmanager. I have tried restarting the server, repairing the database, and just waiting. I can keep adding them over and over and it says successful, but can never find it. I am using Opmanager 8051 on Windows 2003. Any ideas? -Sam
You are not authorized to view this device details page
Hi, we've got several users who have only rights for viewing some special business views. if the user is logged in he can see all the devices and all alarms. The problem is, that he can't get access to the details site of three devices - the opmanager says: "You are not authorized to view this device details page" We only set his rights to "Has access to the selected business views", nothing else. Why can he see all devices but has no access to some of them Thx for help
Active alarms report
Hello to all. I would like to set up a report sumarizing every morning active alarms and schedule it to send it in a mailbox every day. Currently this is possible but this is a "all events" report and I cannot filter "interesting" alarms ie actives or unacknowledges alarms which I think are more relevant for day to day checks and operations - I can't find a way using opmanager admin console but maybe I missed something. Report of all Servers and their metrics
Hi, I've been asked to produce a report showing all the servers in our OpManager and what metrics are being monitored on each one. Does anyone know how I can produce such a report? Ideally it would be a single table with Servers down the LHS, metrics across the top and the resulting table completed so it's easy to see what metric is being monitored on each server at a glance.. Configure Availabilty Time of the day
Hi, regarding the SLA reports, is it possible to configure the time of the day to use. Fore example I would like to exclude non business hours and days for specific devices such as printers. I see the "schedule downtime": is it retroactive? Regards, Roberto D.
Create custom Compliance policy on NCM plug-in
Hi, I tested both Device Expert and OpManager NCM plug-in. Within the NCM plug-in I cannot find a way to create custom Compliance policy. I have on default Cisco Compliance policy. Is there a way to create new policy or the NCM is a subset of Device Expert? If yes, then I would like to know which features I will loose choosing NCM instead of Device Expert. Thanks, Roberto D.

ESX Montioring
Hello I am evaluating OpManager for my business. I am struggling a bit with vmware monitoing. We have a number of esx hosts (3 and 3.5) but when I discover the devices, OpMangaer does not show any VMs. Is this becuase the machines are configured as a cluster of ESX hosts? Does anybody know how to get around this? Havig read recent posts I understand that ESX/i 4 is to be supported soon... this is will be a key in our decision. Thanks!!

WMI Process monitoring issue
We've run into a small issue regarding WMI monitoring of some process information. We'd like to monitor thread counts of a specific process on a server. This worked great at first, but unfortunately there are now multiple instances of that process being run with different CLI arguments. In adding a normal process monitor, I can see all 6 of the processes and their arguments so I can tell which is which, but when I try to add a WMI process\thread count monitor through the WMI interface in OpManager,
Eltek Flatpack 2 UPS snapshot
Hi! I have tried to configure the ups_monitors.xml and opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml file to adapt the UPS snapshot to our Eltek UPS. I have been able to get the UPS Load dial to show the correct value but I am not able to make the UPS Status section to work. Any suggestions? Regards, Daniel

pfsense & OpManager Dials.
I have installed OpManager (Build 8051) on RHEL 5 and attempting to monitor several pfsense embedded routers / firewalls. The monitors (CPU Util, Memory Util, etc) are collecting data and graphing. The Dials are not displaying any data and stating "No Data Available". The monitor test are returning values and I have modified the opmanager_snapshot_dial.xml as per other directions found in this forum. Just to confirm operation I added a Netscreen 5GT to OpManager and the dials do populate for it.

When we configured our eval server the date and time was not set properly. In the last day we have configured a considerable amount of devices. Is it possible to reset the evaluation period?
Feature Request: Managed Devices but no status poll
Hello opManager team, I've been using opManager for several years now and I'm quite happy with the product! But there is one feature I'd really like to have: We have several devices (mainly printers and workstations) which do not run 24/7, but which need to be monitored once they are switched on - so I'd like to have a feature "Status poll yes/no" - similar to the status poll for switch interfaces. Is this something that's on your roadmap? And if so, when can we expect such a feature? Regards GWeiss

Hi, I am inputting the below options in the credentials screen so that i can add telnet credentials to my HP Procurve 2626 switch via Opmanager. User Name xxxxx Password xxxxx Command Prompt # Login Prompt Username: Password Prompt Password: Port 23 Protocol Telnet However I am unable to connect via CLI. CLI error. Hope someone can help. RSS feeds
A feature that would be really nice is RSS feeds for stuff like alarms and such. This would allow us to integrate OpManager information into custom intranet pages or RSS readers, etc. Has any thought been given to this?
Can't clear alarms
After two weeks of normal operation, our trial of opmanager won't allow me to clear acknowledge or delete alarm messages for any device. Here's the response I get; webclient.fault.alarm.clear.status.failure or Problem in deleting alarm! when adding a note... Unable to Add Note some error occured

Monitoring APC UPS' with Opmanager, what CLI credentials to use?
HI everyone, I am trying to monitor a Symmerta 40k APC Ups with Opmanager. - i have the SNMP traps setup and working correctly, however i cant get the CLI credentials to work - it gives you the options of either SSH or Telnet, however the devices itself only seems to support FTP and the GUI with the built in System OUI (as follows) .1.3.6.1.4.1.318. .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.6 - Has anyone got CLI credentials working ? and if so can you check your OUI and see if they match the ones above? or any other

VM-Ware ESX
I'm on the latest version of OpManager and it seems like every 7-8 days I have to reboot my OpManager server for it to start registering SNMP again on my VM-WARE ESX servers. I've got more than the system requirements for the OpManager server and I just find this really odd. Was wondering if anyone else had reported this issue.

Alarm for SNMP linkup linkdown traps
Hi, I would like to receive an alarm when a link goes down so I configured the router to send an SNMP trap to the OpManager. The problem is that some time the links flaps and I receive too many alarms. Is there a way to fix that? For example send the alarm only when OpManager do not receive the SNMP linkup trap in the next x seconds. Thanks, Roberto D.

It says Requieres more than 1 bussiness views of shortcuts exhausted, also when i want to add a device(s) the program star to load the configuration however it never go forward. Also when i select the link Maps and then i want to add a Business View it never pass, it says Initializing Bussiness view and never go forward. Access via Blackberry with Op Manager 8051
In your readme for the latest service pack it says you can access Op Manager with the Blackberry. I have a BES server, I'm using the Blackberry browser, yet it still doesn't come up. From the readme "Users can now access the OpManager web client using iPhone or Blackberry user interfaces"

Problem of integrating op manager with service desk plus
trying to get service desk plus to integrate with op manager but op manager tells me my server is too busy to fetch information. Custom WMI Perfmon Information
Hi, We have some custom Perfmon values that are being exposed. We can look at these values on the server via the Perfmon viewer however we cannot pull them into OpManager. We set up a new WMI monitor, add the correct credientials, and OpManager can see the Categories with our custom counters and lets us select them. All is good up to this point. -however- nothing is being pulled into OpManager and when we use the 'test monitor' option this fails. All other WMI information from the server comes through
