"Paper jam" warnings from printers don't clear
I get a "Trouble" alarm from printers whenever there is a paper jam - no real problem there. The problem is that the alarm does not clear when someone fixes the paper jam, I always have to manually clear it. Is there any way of forcing OpManager to recheck the status of the printer and if it's OK, clear the alarm? Thanks.
Opmanager discovers device but doesn't show in any view
I'm running Opmanager build 8720 and having troubles with discovery. 1. When I do a discovery for a number of Cisco devices as well as some Windows Servers it says it found them, I click import, but I can find them in any view or through the query tool. Is there a way to troubleshoot what's happening? A log file I should be looking at? I should say that the bulk of my devices are being discovered fine. 2. How do you configure OpManger to monitor PortChannels?
I have a 3 port (1 gigabit each) port channel that is in alarm. The alarm states that current IN traffic is 63.47Mbps(63.47%). This is wrong. There is 300Mbps available in the channel. How do I get OpManager to understand bandwidth of the port channel? TIA

Monitoring a specific port without SNMP or CLI credencials
Hi there, We need to monitor a device TCP port 1521 (Oracle), but we don't have any credencials for this device. It is on our customer network, which we have access through our radio link (peer-to-peer) and we need to monitor if this TCP/1521 port is up or down. Below packages are removed starting RedHat 4 according to the documentation. XFree86 XFree86-libs XFree86-base-fonts XFree86-xfs fontconfig XFree86-compat-libs compat-libs Following two packages still exist in RedHat 4 freetype-devel compat-libstdc++ ------------------------------------ Do I need to install above removed packages to Redhat 4 Linux before install OpManager or can I install the OpManager without those purged packages.

Layer2 network mapping
I tried the layer2 network mapping. I entered our core router, and which layout I wanted. The next page was almost blank, it just said "Error!" and the header said "Sorry! An error occured." Hello, Running Opmgr 8720. I have 365 devices in a business map. When I show in the list and then I either hit show 500 records to see all the devices on one page or choose the arrow to goto the next page, the error "no devices found for the the XXXXX category." I have uploaded the support logs. Thanks.

OpManager, WMI-based resource monitor is not showing any data on the Virtual server
Dear Support, we have a problem,now i am testing tral version of latest OpManager. I have tried to install it on the virtual server 2003 under Hyper-V 2008. there is no problem with configuration of Hyper-V. this server also hots other 3 servers without any problems. The strange thing - Opmanager is working normally with SNMP devices, AND Windows Server 2008 Domain controllers. But when i am trying to add other servers (windows server 2003, 2008 and even XP) in the same network - it is added normally,

OpManager URL monitoring
Hi, I'm trying to monitor a URL using OpManager. At the moment the URL is in giving an error 500, but OpManager is reporting the URL as being up. When clicking the "Check Now" button, it appears that OpManager is not actually testing the URL as it is returning valid content rather than the error 500. Does OpManager cache URLs that are being monitored, and, if so, is it possible to prevent it doing so? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Templates
We have 2 installation's of Opmanager (One free Build 8720) on one site (One licensed Build 8720) on another site. The problem is that at least one template on the free version does not exist on our licensed version, why would this be ? The free version uses the builtin MYSQL the licensed version uses MSSQL and both installations are on virtual servers. Can someone help at all ? Regards Scott.
Adding VM ESX Question

Searching IP addresses
Hi everyone, One feature I'd like to see in Op Manager is the ability for it to search by other ip addresses if possible. For example we monitor our router via it's internal IP, let's say 192.168.1.1. It has an outside IP 200.200.200.200 on an interface that Op Manager also watches. If I go to search for a device, I can find the router by looking up it's internal IP, 192.168.1.1. But not by it's external. Disable clear emails only?
Does anyone know if it's possible to disable just the Clear notifications from OpManager? Our workflow for dealing with alerts from OpManager requires we check the alerting service/machine anyway so the additional emails that are generated when the service comes back up just means more work for the techs to keep their ticket queues clean. I'm currently running build 8052 and I've looked through the admin page but haven't been able to find anything like this. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill Anderson

Had OpManager installed on my XP machine, but recently moved to Win2008Svr. The Svr now reboots periodically on its own. anyone else with this strange issue? thank you.

Automatically Clear Events?
Is there a way for events to autoclear themselves? Can I configure that? For example if a disk gets to be 95% full, then goes to 90%, the alert still shows on the server. Can it be autocleared? What about a windows event log? Say a server gets rebooted, the alert is useless a few days after that, is there a way to specify an autoclear for that event?
OpManager and ESX 4.0 monitoring
I'm about to configure my ESX 4.0 hosts to enable SNMP so that OpManager can discover them. However I'm concerned that by altering the ESX Hosts SNMP settings manually I might break the vSphere logging done by vCentre Server. Can anyone tell me that vCentre / vSphere will not be affected. Hi, I use to manage about 90 servers (virtual and physical) with OPmanager. Every 2 or 3 days, the monitors I activated desapear and older re appear on certain servers only. It doesn't depend on the fact that some are Physical or virtual. Could you please help me to fix this problem. Regards
How can I see real-time network traffic from a device interface?
Hey there, I remember that OpManager trial version had a feature to see an interface traffic in real-time, by clicking on an icon, the as real-time CPU Usage and Memory Usage. Now, I bought deluxe version and I just can't find this feature. I just can monitor CPU and Memory usage in real-time, but no Network Interface usage. Can anyone help me? My version is one of the highest version, with cluster support, etc, and I can't believe it doesn't has real-time monitor for network card. Thanks

We have 5 number of interfaces for Netflow Plug-in that comes with our OP Manager, when we use the netflow plug-in, it doesnt reflect the free 5 interfaces that comes from OP Manager and it is expiring with 1 free interface to monitor.

[root@opm RemoveDBEntriesNew]# sh RemoveDBEntriesNew.sh 192.168.65.41 The device is removed from the DB successfully.Please restart OpManager Server to make the changes effective. I remove a device with RemoveDBEntriesNew.sh but i have the same problem. When i add a new virtual device opmanager show me "Device already present in the System". I dont know what i can do ??? please anyone let me know something.
